Bless you for this!!! I got a portable dishwasher (second hand) as a housewarming gift, and I have been SO PERPLEXED about how to connect it, I was going crazy! Thanks so much!
Thank you! I have one of these in the house I'm renting, and I've been hand washing all my dishes for nearly a year. I didn't want to mess with the portable dishwasher because I didn't really know how it was supposed to connect. You made it so easy to understand :) I'll definitely be using it more frequently now!
Thank you so much for the tutorial, I've never had one in my life but I'm going to buy one, let me give you a brief summary. I'm 29 single and live with my disabled mom, I work all day only came to my home to sleep and never had time to wash the dishes, so I'll buy a portable one because I think it's more practically and easy to use, plus I live in a rented house and it doesn't have any space for a built in dishwasher. So please wish me luck! Ayesha from Florida.
Oh you’re so sweet ☺️ the first time I tried to connect it, it exploded on me too! My husband said it happened to him on his first few tries too so rest assured that you are not alone! I’m glad my video helped 😊 Thanks for watching! And thanks for leaving that comment, you just made my day!
I am unable to find a dishwasher with that black attachement going in the sink tap having both the hoses connected l. Could you help which brand has such fitting or we need to buy it separately. Thanks
I was wondering the same thing!! And the other question about if you don't always leave the water on?? If you don't, DOES it have a water tank to pull from if you turn the water off?? Thxs
Yep! You don’t have to, but then it delays every time it needs to do another rinse. When it’s turned on the water is not consistently running through the wash.
It needs to be turned to hot water right? Should I let the water run until it's hot then turn it off and attach it? And what about bits of food? Do they just get caught in filters that need to be changed? Also, at the end of the cycle, you just have to sit there and hold the button while all the water that was used drains out or does it automatically do that during the cycle, then you just have to hold the button to get rid of the remaining?
Hi rite2bcreative 😊 You should turn it over to hot but isn’t necessary, it heats up the water regardless. I usually attach it, put the handle over to hot and turn it on. If there’s any big food bits there is a drain strainer at the bottom that catches most of it so it doesn’t get stuck in the tubes. You have to empty it out every once in a while. When the water needs to drain it will drain back into the sink on its own. I only mentioned to press the button at the end because some gets left in there and can splatter out. And if you don’t want the water faucet “on” the entire time it’s going you can wait for all the initial water to fill up and then turn your faucet off while it’s washing, the only time it’ll need it again is during the rinse cycle and if the faucet isn’t turned on it pauses the cycle. Most dishwashers will also tell you what stage it’s at.
@@SandyBeach thank you! My sister just gave me her portable dishwasher that she doesn't need anymore and I've been unsure about how to use it. This really helped!!
Hi Tamsin! Welcome 😊 Yes!! Dishwashers are so convenient. Especially when you run it at night and can have clean dishes by morning, that’s the best. Have a spook-tacular day! 💗
So do I leave the water running through the whole cycle because it runs between an hour too two hrs an half . That seems like it's wasting a lot of water so do I let the water run through the whole cycle.
Just as long as you turn it off before you detach the hose! Otherwise it’ll explode water everywhere. But if you have things to do and the water stays on it won’t flood or keep running through the hose.
Oh yeah we do it all the time. I’m not sure exactly how it works but it’s kind of like having a plug on it. After you start the wash it allows the water to go through, then it blocks the water while the dirty soap water drains back up the tubes and out of the hose. Then it repeats for the rinse cycle, when it’s done it blocks the water again.
Thanks so much! I used to hate them when i was younger but when you grow you learn to love yourself and the things that make you different so now I absolutely love them 💖 Thanks so much for that comment though you literally made my day!
What's the name of the faucet brand is that? I'm trying to replace mine in order to use my portable dishwasher. Unfortunately my spraying head faucet doesn't work.
I’m actually not sure. It was at the old home I was renting. But I think as long as you get a sink that has a detachable screwed on tip it should work.
I have a really nice portable dishwasher I’ve had for years, but I recently moved into a duplex that has one of those fancy pull out nozzles on their sink and I can’t figure out how to hook the dishwasher up
Honestly no not really. Considering I’d have to wash the dishes anyway by hand. It really doesn’t run for that long, I usually set it to an hour wash but the water doesn’t run that whole time. It’s kinda like a washing machine, usually just an initial wash which is about 5 minutes to fill up, then rinse cycle. If you need a heavier clean there are more water cycles. Mine has 3 settings.
I had one of these for years! Just FYI there is a piece you can put on your faucet so it still has the little filter screen and will work with attaching your dishwasher or at least there used to be.
A portable dishwasher is no different than a built in dishwasher. Your water is always on with a built in, a portable you hook up and unhook the water when cycle is finished and you move machine. Machine is the same as a built in on most larger models.
That's a good question! I suppose as long as your hose reaches and the connector will attach sizing wise I don't see why not. You'd also need a place to plug it in, if all that aligns then it should be fine. Either way I say A+ for ingenuity. Let me know how it goes please! 😊
I actually don’t have an adapter. It clicks right into the sink. Some faucet tips can be unscrewed so that you can connect things to them. You also have to make sure you are pulling the connector piece back while attaching so it fits, then let go so that it snaps on. I hope this helped and I explained it ok.

Yes, it’s suppose to fully wash and then it starts to drain all the soap water. Then it will start rinsing, once it has rinsed it will drain at the end again & start the steaming to dry process. The only water that should be left in the end is a little in the hose where the attachment is.
@@SandyBeach Thank you! Does your hose leak at the sink at all when running? There's some water coming out of it, so I'm not sure if that's supposed to be happening
PaulHennessyShow when it’s mid-wash it’s suppose to start releasing water. Then it drains again at the end. If it’s coming out of the sides instead of the middle than it’s not latched on right. But yes it should drain itself more than once.
It’s actually drains as a last step while it’s still attached to the faucet. By the time you disconnect the dishwasher all the water is drained and steamed dry.
Not on the one I have. There is only one hose/place for attachment, then it drains through an exit on the same attachment but through the bottom of the piece. Hope that answered your question.
