      I'd like that too but we would already know he survived.
      And I'm pretty sure I remember hearing it in the book that he hid at the edge for majority of the game and the game took place in a sahara with no water... Seems pretty boring...

    Just finished the book (literally two minutes ago) so ofc I had to run to this trailer. I'm very excited but a little worried, just because of how vital Snow's inner monologe is in the book. It's crazy how often I found myself root for him and then snap out of it, at least until the last third of the book. But even then, some of his interactions were still morally "good". Crazy good writing tbh. everyone's a good guy in their own mind and Collins captured that mental divide between Snow's actions and his thought patterns perfectly. So i hope they find a way to accurately portray this in the movie!

      Same! Didn’t get to the ending yet, but almost. I keep switching between thoughts like: “he totally lacks of empathy” to “his environment shaped him and makes him think certain things” to back to the lack of empathy. Conclusion? I feel it’s a combo of the two, but he definitely drives on power and obsessions without feeling bad at all for other people. If he does feel bad… it’s only cuz it hurts him somehow as well. The way collins portrayed that is amazing. People are complex and she portrayed that perfectly

In this book, they say that the arena was an old sporting arena, so, should be something like Broncos Stadium (or the newer one). It being an indoor arena is contrary to this. At minimum it should be open air as there's a whole thing about rainwater and sun.
      Otherwise... I'm in the middle of a second read of the book and I recognized Every Single Shot from the book.

I am a little concerned of how well that will actually translate on screen. He’s very good at saying all is right, empathetic, things, and dialogue, but his internal thoughts are would give away how absolutely out of touch. If you look closely at the costumes, you can see how the "Capitolian chic" was born, as well as you like the detail when the panorama of the Capitol opens, behind the old buildings in the style of Stalin Empire, modern skyscrapers under construction are hidden. The only thing I didn't like was the use of analogue technologies of the 80s, because the actions in the book are already taking place in 3000. And these retro screens, as well as the graphic design used for TV shows and posters, combined with conceptual laboratories with genetically modified animals, do not look thoughtful. I just finished the book and the trailer is very accurate to what I read. Its so cool how you can see parts of the hunger games we know splashed around on the pages of the book! My favorite line from the book was in the trailer and it is, "Do you hear that, Coriolanus? It's the sound of Snow falling." Its just so powerful!

    • @ashsherman
      @ashsherman ปีที่แล้ว +3

      How much more low tech are these games? I k own going by our lives, tech has gotten insanely huge gap over 60 years, but it was so far advanced in Mockingjay , it just would seem odd if tbey went too low tech as it was just so far advanced I can't see the gap like we have in reality within that 60 years.
      There's a point where it just takes longer to make small changes, not as drastic with technology.
      Anyhow, it looks cool and from what I saw in 20 second trailer, they still can create creatures on a whim that'll rip u to shreds.
      I'm excited to be honest, and this shows us just exactly why ybe games were so important. Honestly, if be more angry and revolt sooner with forced sacrifices for mere sake of entertainment and control by the insanely wealthy and untouched group in such an effed up.dystopia.
      Imagine living in late 1700s like towns but just a few things would be like right out if the year 2023. That's just an insane juxtaposition which I loved in the entire franchise.
      Basically looks like what life would be like for survivors of a nuclear war (is that what happened in this world? It never said in the movies)

      I agree other than academy uniform costumes, they look so bad (other than the long coat), also it doesn't make sense how at the reaping scene only the mentors are wearing own clothes while other students are in uniform. It makes it seem as though mentors have already been selected in advance which eliminates the suspense of Snow waiting until the last name and also probs means we won't see Snow fumble his conversation with Highbottom when he was getting apple pie (which undercuts the idea that Snow is starving). (It is clearly the reaping scene cuz he is wearing Tigris' shirt) other than that exactly how I imagined apart from some odd castings for a couple of charectars

While reading, I assumed if a student who wasn't a designated mentor didn't have anything else to wear, then they probably would have worn their Academy uniform, and this would have made the mentors stand out more.
      As for the tribute assignment, it was stated in the first chapter that his final project was to be a mentor for THG. He and the other mentors also had their designated seating area as well. Snow and the others only didn't know which tribute they were mentoring until reaping day

    3) Specifically, a book about Finnick’s first hunger games experience
    4) A book long epilogue to the main hunger games series with katniss and peeta and their kids.
