PEOPLE!!! When you spend the time to preheat a pizza oven, you don't lift the top and let all the damn heat go away! Prep your pizza, heat the oven to the max, open, insert pizza and close IMMEDIATELY!!! AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!
It's actually the heat element you're waiting for to heat up rather than that tiny bit of space, and this stays on when you open the oven - as soon as you close the oven, the top is sizzling again. In all fairness, it would be a really uneventful video if we didn't open it lol. With these ovens - open that door, interact with your grub - it's much more fun! Use a conventional oven if you want it the other way. Thanks for watching x
@@thecratchitschannel7561 I know how they work, I own one! But like any other oven, you open and close it in the shortest time possible. Fine, you want to keep it open longer for the video, but you should mention to people to close it as soon as they can. When cooking a pizza, you only need to interact with the food ONCE, to give it a turn. By the way... the thermometer on the cover does not take the temp of the heating element, it takes the temp of the environment inside the oven.
@@barcham It's just a light hearted video, a bit of fun, not to be taken too seriously and certainly not the place to come for a culinary cooking experience.... I completely agree the oven will stay hotter if you don't open it and I think people will use their own common sense to know this! x
@@thecratchitschannel7561 You would be stunned at how many people out there follow TH-cam videos religiously. There is one around here where there are two women promoting this type of pizza oven and telling people to OIL THE STONE TO SEASON IT! They appear to be doing a demo in a shopping mall or something, and anyone who follows their advice will be ruining their pizza stone before they even start using it. Admittedly, that is a far more grievous thing than leaving an oven open too long, but there are just so many videos that people follow and then wonder why they get bad results from their appliance. I simply try to point these things out to people so that they will be able to get the best out of the things they spend their hard-earned money on.
Im modding my klaif by installing extra volcanic stones at the top and below under the stone for more heat capacity and a better heat dispersal. Im suspending the stones with tack welded zink strips
Be happy!
Nice video mate! That pizza base looks good!
That looks impressive Mr Cratchit!! Thank you for the review. My Klaif is arriving from Amazon today. Can't wait.

Nice video, cheers. Just ordered one. 👍
Hi, does this pizza oven come with a peel?
A peel didn't come with ours.... but you only need a small one with this.
@@thecratchitschannel7561 Thanks for replying
I'm looking to getting my klaif next week? This great video sold me on it ? Thankx
Good work! When we bought ours we were after a video for a bit of a demo but couldn't find one hence this, so glad it's helped you make a decision!

This was fantastic. We just bought ours and ready to use. You didn´t say if you preheated the oven first and if so how high did you start?
I would say 8/10 minutes heat up before the first pizza, more for the stone to absorb heat than anything else. Have fun!
@@thecratchitschannel7561 wow this oven is amazing. we use gluten free dough and it still did the trick. Thx a bunch
