Just want to say i have the haven xl with true level and i have had my haven in one variation or another for over 2 years. The haven isnt the lightest thing in the world but it isnt bad when you consider everything. I find it to be the most comfortable and convenient to set up shelter i own. I have dcf tents and other hammocks and the haven is my favorite! I dont relly ul backpack anymore and as long as my base weight is under 20 lbs im happy these days. I like to be comfortable in camp as well as the trail or what ever im doing. Love the haven they have done a great job and their customer service is second to none. I look forward to what more inovations the future brings fort them!

It took me 20 min to figure out how to attach the fly to the tent. Watched Derek’s video 3x freezing it at that part and couldn’t tell what he was doing.
I put the carabiner on through the bottom and then the clip part of the carabiner through the other side and it went on smoothly, no forcing.

I bought the Haven less than 2 months ago. Love the concept and worked well until some failures began to compromise the system. 1. The air pad lost volume throughout the night. Clearly need a rigid pad for the lay flat to function. 2. The seams attaching the bottom of the tent (head side) began to tear out compromising the safety of the tent. 3. The ridge light would not remain lit at low settings. Derek at Haven is sending me a new pad and tent ... great customer service. I'm hoping that my problems were just a one off issue. Again, when all the components work, you can't beat the incredible sleep for a hammock. On another note - I saw a video were the Thermarest Mondo King XXL works great with the Haven XL. Might be a better pad if the Haven lay flat continues to be a problem. Let me know your thoughts.

Same here corners started to rip out and the pads crap , sent mine back and went with a warbonnet ridgerunner double layer hammock instead

I have one of frist XLs . Really like the up grades of the additional zipper and strap adjuster. I have to upgrade

Man I love your video, thanks.
I finally gave in after 20+ years in gathered end hammocks and went to a Haven XL.
I'm 63 and wanted better sleep, problem solved.

I hope you love it. Make sure to top off the mattress with a couple extra breaths. I can't get enough of mine. It is different but in all the right ways for me. Let me know how you like it, I'd live to be kept updated on your journey! Happy trails my friend.

I love my Hennessy expedition zip camo edition, it’s a very simple hammock setup but very comfortable. It’s light enough to take on a hike but durable enough to last a very long time. Not a lot of bells and whistles so anyone can enjoy it for camping and hiking uses.

One thing I noticed... stow your backpack behind your head or at your feet beyond the mattress, instead of on the ridgeline. It lowers the center of gravity & the hammock won't be so tippy.

Sent mine back after 4 days of just 40° degrees froze my butt off in that thing and it wasn't comfortable at all . I ended up ordering a double layer warbonnet ridgerunner hammock. Ridgerunner is super comfortable, and you can lay flatter than the haven ,sleep on your side ,and ya Don't have to lay 2 feet off the ground. Definitely not upset over my purchase.

Dude that sucks! I haven't had any issues with mine, I like the height but it is a bit noisy. The insulated cover helps quite a bit when I use it.

Nice video. You showed new features that I haven't seen in other reviews. It's good that Haven continues to iterate and improve.
Is that the XL Insulated pad or the True Level Insulated? Does it quiet down if you put a covering on it? A lot of noise from the pad while you were moving around.

Thank you. It is the True Level for an XL Haven. The Haven insulated cover does dampen the noise and I think my mic picks up sound really well, and since I was wearing it close to my chest it sounds louder than the reality. It is quieter than my Sea to Summit I think.

I'm 57 years old and I'm still a ground dweller but this looks like a possibility for getting off the ground? Gonna have to check them out. Thanks for the review.

What are the tent pegs for? Did you forget to use them because you put the fly on upside down?

    • @honorableoutfitters
      @honorableoutfitters  หลายเดือนก่อน

The tent pegs are to stretch out the fly/secure the corners on windy camps OR you can set it up on the ground as a bivy style tent with trekking poled or rigged A frame
