I love how your outdoor kitchen is turning out. My grandparents on my dad's side also had a dairy farm. Their dinner bell looked like the one you have, but their's was 3 feet tall and probably that big around. When they retired and moved to their 40-acre piece of property, they took that dinner bell with them. My grandma could then call my grandpa to dinner no matter where he was on the property.
My Great Great Grandfather William Richardson came from Scotland and settled in Ringold County, Iowa (SouthWest Corner) in 1860. My Great Grandfather bought his farm outside of Hatfield, Missour (NorthWest Corner). My entire family was spread out in this area and I was born on my Grandfather's farm near Hatfield as well. Thanks for sharing
It’s Friday! Love the blue pine ceiling. Turned out great! This show had it all: Deer, lunch, caulking, jokes…….just about perfect, only lacking some sanding! 😂 I chuckled to myself when you were adding all your “sauces” to your venison…….I got good at killing the taste of venison with rubs and marinades too. Another enjoyable post Patrick. Looking forward to next week’s installment. 🎉
I confess!! I never could remember of a bell! Although it's also common in old farms here. It's not used anymore, but you can see this sometimes. 😁 This kitchen is becoming more and more comfy! Hugs!!
I am laying here in my youngest son’s small 12x20 one room cabin with blue stain tongue and groove walls and ceiling we just finished last month. Looking good Patrick. Thanks for sharing.
As always, NICE WORK, I just zeroed in my neighbor's new table saw, that I'll be using when walling in the carport. Cut the "spars?" for the two mobile bases for my old table saw and radial arm saw. Then matched all three table heights. So I had a grin when you just got that saw. All along while working on my saws I was thinking, you need to just sit down and work on yours as it would be good experience for solving what went wrong with the height adjustment. I had mine upside down when setting up to match up table height, and all the mechanicals were easy to get at in that position. Then your "Sloppy Doe" sandwich, while sitting in the chair. I toggled back and forth between the camera angles, trying to find a difference. Like if you moved the thermos or saw. Only thing different was your right foot position. Nice old bell. I didn't try guessing. And my first thought when I saw it was, your neighbors going 'WTH was that?' Well done Patrick. 👍
I recently found you on TH-cam and I went through all your videos. Very well done. I learned quite a bit watching them, many tricks. You have a very good way in explaining your works. I really like your ranch. Looks really beautiful.
Hey Patrick, nice to see you back at the moose and thanks for another great video on a beautiful Friday night! Congratulations to the winner! I have to say that that kitchen is gonna be nice enough to live in, looks great sir, love it! See ya next week! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼 By the way, I really enjoyed your house video’s the bench transformation was great!
i wanna cut. Hey,,,I noticed that new pencil...I want one now. It sure is a beautiful day in the Life on the Moose neighborhood. btw..every time my son wears the T Shirt I got for him from Life on the Moose store he gets so many compliments. Great find,,wonderful edition to the place.Lov and peace To All Hear from South Alabama.
Best if you do all the board cutting. I always have to cut it twice and it only gets shorter. Yeah, the pencil lead I use is hard as a nail... because it is a nail. Blue pine ceiling looks really great. Hard to beat this video....
Hey Patrick, altijd een plezier om je bezig te zien👌, love your movie’s. Sorry voor men Engels😁. Kijk er steeds naar uit naar vrijdag. Please don’t stop. Thanks. Groeten vanuit België 🇧🇪.
Nice work on the kitchen! Great idea for the dinner bell, I have one and you've prompted me to get mine mounted and in action. BTW, I enjoyed your work back at the house. Keep up the great work!
Another great video I’m so glad I came across your channel ! You always have me laughing always look forward to watch your videos 😊‘this outdoor kitchen looks amazing so far can’t wait to see when it all done my friend and like always stay safe stay strong and may god bless you and Oh I almost forgot I love your new pencil 😅❤️🙏✌🏼
Looking great! Pretty jelly about that saw....I hope it turns out to be as cool as it looks! The bell is a nice touch! Thanks again for the entertaining videos...and BTW I watched your videos on the deck redo, BOTH of them! LOL
Good to see you are getting more subscribers. You deserve it! I’m using a lot of blue pine right now also - accent walls in my cabin. Thanks, from Hells Canyon, Frank.
Loved this and learned something too!😊 Suggestion ... polyurethane the ceiling to make al. The colors pop. If you stain it the color you've been using, I'm afraid you'll lose the beauty in all the pine wood. Like I said, just a suggestion. ✝️🙏❤🇺🇸
nice work! Oh, that was 'V' for Venison not Veal. Looks tasty with that homemade sauce. I am guessing you got an antique wood cooking stove? Or maybe a smoker? Oh, I was wrong. A dinner bell, the rustic patina is good.
Hey Patrick… Greetings from New Zealand. We’ve been following your environmental adventure since day one. Compulsory viewing I guess. What’s the plan for a water supply and toilet facilities in the future?
Welcome! It used to be just a weird looking tree that recently broke, so I propped the top back on to give the birds their perch back. It’s featured a lot in older videos. Glad you’re here!🙏
You need to take a picutre of that back wall with the window ,rather a close up enough just to get the wall and the view out that window...I WOULD BUY THAT PICTURE..
Patrick, on that farm did you have a cow, eieio? I looked at the pencil too, £4 + £32 shipping, that's why we are known as rip-off Britain! I'm eating too but more of a breakfast than lunch, German breakfast (what I ate when I worked in Germany) is more like a dinner than traditional breakfast, eat lots, so lunch is unnecessary then a light dinner at night, I'm not eating lots, just soup as it lasts longer than a meal. Did you know if you take two identical meals and liquidize one into a soup, you will feel less hungry with the soup over the meal for longer?
I have a question : why are you face nailing the T&G ? When I was taught to install it we nailed it into the tongue so the next piece wouldn’t have nails in it on the face. Just wondering if it’s personal preference?
Laziness and speed! To be brutally honest. I find that the holes all but disappear and I never regret face nailing them after the fact. Just a preference!
I was exhausted in the first two minutes. To do "A", "B" has to be done. To do "B", "C" has to be done, etc. The ceiling looks good. Are you going to cover the soffit?
I keep answering the silly questions you ask, but you never actually hear me. I said I would cut. Yes I did get overly excited by the mechanical carpenter's pencil. I guess I can forgive you for not buying an antique wood stove. I agree, keep the bell as is.
How much did you steal that table saw for? I got a 6-inch jointer at auction for $10 because it didn't have a motor (I happened to have a motor that was perfect for it), a shaper for $40, and a drill press for $35. Used tools rule!
17:08 I've done a lot of drawings, schematics and elevations with a mechanical pencil, but never used a carpenters pencil. And to be honest, as long as I keep getting the regular ones for nearly free here and there? I probably won't. And at a buck per lead when I can get a wooden one for 20 cents? I lose them fast enough as it is.
Thanks so much for inviting us all to Life on the Moose every Friday. Your inspiration is fa-nominal. Don't stop!
You’re kind!! If you won’t stop watching, I won’t stop making. 🙏
I watch you build & I'm thinking 'yes I can, yes I can' until I see the piece of board & saw....I'll just watch you.😀
Yes you can! Either way, I’m honored you watch.🙏

Nice score on the table saw at auction. Still looks new!

I never knew that there were mechanical carpenters pencils. How about that bell? The mule deer will love it.

I have the same A,B,C,D, problem, but, by the time I get to D sitting down and watching The Price Is Right seems like a better option.
lol! I get that!
All of us that do these type of projects fully understand the A, B, C thing. Nice bell even better story. Looking great.

Wow, Patrick! You sure can move wood fast 😆
😅🙏
I knew you must originally be from the Midwest! I’m a transplanted Southerner living in Minnesota so I recognized the accent. 😊 Love the dinner bell!

Thanks for taking us along on another video.

Ha I wouldn’t doubt it!
I have 2 of those bells. 1 was my grandfather's

It’s the little things!😅
I'm not sold yet on the pencil. Like you, I I've always used the pencil as a spacer!

Just looked at the NWS forecast for NE Washington... you may get frost on your pumpkins up at the ranch tomorrow.
Indeed it was close! In the high 30’s F last night. Just a matter of time.
I’ll watch it again for you
You’re the best! 🙏

Love the videos, having said that... you're not going to cover the overhang? did you run out of materials? lol, no really, it looks good!
I ran out of that material I keep in my wallet! Thank you.🙏
Ah back at the Ranch guess you finished the Honey do list at the other house
That list is never finished!😅
Loved this and learned something too!😊 Suggestion ... polyurethane the ceiling to make al. The colors pop. If you stain it the color you've been using, I'm afraid you'll lose the beauty in all the pine wood. Like I said, just a suggestion. ✝️🙏❤🇺🇸

Hey Patrick… Greetings from New Zealand. We’ve been following your environmental adventure since day one. Compulsory viewing I guess. What’s the plan for a water supply and toilet facilities in the future?
Greetings, NZ! No plans for anything permanent, as it would open a can of local permitting worms.
There will be a sink of sorts coming up…
Patrick I don’t know how much you paid for that saw but that top is really nice all metal super nice good score happy cutting
About half retail. Hopefully it works out!
Vi som ser detta underbara bygge ta form ser också att det gjordes ett håll för lite i detta perfekta ute kök 🙂
Guilty! 🙏
New mechanical pencil should save some trees 🌲🌳🌲🌳
Ah indeed!
What is your plans for the old siding that has curled?
On the kitchen? Nothing! It’ll get capped on the edges eventually.
Manaus - Brasil
you could use a few clamps
Indeed I could!
You have probably answered this question multiple times, but for a new subscriber, what's the story on the tree that looks like a giant "T?"
Welcome!
It used to be just a weird looking tree that recently broke, so I propped the top back on to give the birds their perch back. It’s featured a lot in older videos.
Glad you’re here!🙏
@@LifeontheMoose Thanks for clearing that up for me!
I've been curious since your last video, how long of a drive is your city home from your country property? Do you back and forth often?

First meal prepared in the new kitchen?
I think we’ve narrowed it down…something a bit atypical for me perhaps…🤔

Patrick, I’ll cut 😅
Phew! 😅 🙏
Also, OSHA is cringing on your using your circular saw. 😳
you bought an antique cook stove?
I did not! Great guess tho.
I’m curious what equipment you use for the video recording
Just an IPhone.
keeping simple with that and a tripod. Nice! I am almost done with my skid. Partially inspired by you. Will send pics and or vid in a few weeks
I don’t think I have ever heard someone emphasize the “L” in caulk as much as you. I’m pretty sure the TH-cam censors appreciate it too.
Ha! It’s not intentional, either!
I'll cut 😂
I was exhausted in the first two minutes. To do "A", "B" has to be done. To do "B", "C" has to be done, etc.
The ceiling looks good. Are you going to cover the soffit?
Nope. Just stained. Good question!🙏

😂😂
