The 2006 Amsterdam show is mythical among Epicans, as it's never been officially released. Now, the holy grail is available as a part of 'We Still Take You With Us' (out now), which bundles it together with their (long sold-out) first major TV performance/DVD release, 'We Will Take You With Us,' as well as their first three albums: 'The Phantom Agony,' 'Consign To Oblivion' and 'The Score.'
Order it on an 11-disc vinyl box set, Earbook with 36-pages and 8 discs or 4-CD box clamshell. 'Live at Paradiso' and 'We Will Take You With Us' are available to download or stream, while 'Live at Paradiso' can be purchased as 2-CD+Blu-ray, too.

I have been waiting for this sense 2006.
Epica is one of the few bands that remained true to themselves, we can see a natural growth in their sound, in their music but always following the symphonic metal path.
Excepting for the songs butchered by the "everyone else is doing the incoherent deathmetal growling so we will do it too," like this one.

When the teaser of this concert was released, I was 16 years old. Then, like a teenager fan, I was soooo exited for this release. Now i'm 32. Literally, the half of my life waiting for this DVD, now finally we can see it. What a gift guys!! What a gift.

It’s so amazing to see how much the band has progressed since this show. Of course the new(er) additions over time changed the sound in a positive way, with Ariën, Isaac and Rob joining. But also gaining experience and getting bigger helped them. They’re way more dynamic today, and we can see that growth with each year, every album and milestones over time (2 meter sessions, Paradiso 2006, Retrospect, Omega Alive). Also, listen to how well Simone progressed as a singer. I mean, she sings great here, but nowadays she’s way more versatile, her sound much more open, mature and rich. Awesome we can relive the old Epica days again to see where it all begun!

Long time ago, and so good already! Nowadays Epica rules the scene and sets the bar! Simone was back then from the first ever note she sang immediately one of the leading top vocalists and she is still on top, in fact to me she is definitely nr 1 already for many years. 👍🤘

I was there at one of their first shows in Zwolle NL. Was a small boy back then. Went with my parents, I'm on picture with them. Even made my own gift for Simone (she was my crush :D)They were epic back then and still are today!

Yo los ví por primera vez en el 2011, cinco años después de que grabaron esto, ya en la época del Design Your Universe, y también me da nostalgia.
Totalmente de acuerdo, muchos les tiran tierra por su éxito, pero este se lo han ganado a pulso y arduo trabajo. Yo los conozco desde 2005, pero fue solo hasta el 2009 que finalmente pude verlos en vivo. Pese a ello, estoy tan ansioso por este show ya que los primeros dos álbumes son tan especiales para mi, me acompañaron en mi adolescencia y tengo muy bonitos recuerdos con ellos. Asi que esto es una verdadera joya para los fans.
@@aposlave Wow, sí exactamente, me entiendes, yo los conocí por allá del 2008 creo, cuando tenía 15 años, y fue algo que me atrapó por completo, también significan mucho para mi, gracias a ellos cambie mi forma de ver la vida, y empecé a cantar, hice amigos y bueno, un sin fin de cosas han pasado desde entonces.
Aún recuerdo que hace diez años, la gente o más bien la escena del metal se burlaba mucho del metal sinfónico, y de Epica, aún hay algunos haters por ahí, pero no cabe duda de que son unos músicos increíblemente capaces y talentosos.

@@carinasanper Increible, si es lo padre de este género, no solo disfrutas la música, te da la oprtunidad de connocer otros artistas, de hacer nuevos amigos e inclusive de agarrar un hobby. En mi caso, tmb decidi tomar un instrumento y precisamente me he aprendido algunas canciones de Epica. Se disfruta mucho!. Saludos!
Excelente, igualmente los vi en ese año, tristemente esperaba verlos con el tour de Divine Conspiracy en 2007/8, pero Simona se enfermó , camcelaron y tuvieron que hacer el tour con en ese entonces su nuevo trabajo Design... de cualquier forma, es gratificante verlos en vivo.

Da eerste concert voor mijn 16de verjaardag in Hof ter Lo in Februari 2005... Fantastisch. Kben blij dak na al die jaren nog steeds als een puber op elke nieuwe release zit te wachten, en kán wachten... Nog es 20j erbij e, minstens!
So great to see this live finally released !!! I saw Epica live for the first time in 2006 exactly (in France tho). This was my very fist concert ever. I was young, kinda afraid to go to a metal gig, but i was already a big fan of Epica and they were playing in my town. It was an awesome gig. Seeing this live, It brings me so much memories. Can't wait to get the full show. And i'll bee to the 20th anniversary show too, of course !

Really enjoy the old stuff, but I think Epica get better every album. I absolutely love Rob and Arien on Bass and Drums. Isaac has great tone on guitar too. And Simones singing on Rivers gives me chills!

Es increíble cómo la vibra de Simone es totalmente distinta, sigue siendo una diosa, pero en esos momentos se desenvolvía de una manera distinta en el escenario.
Al igual que su voz, ese color obscuro en su voz de metzosoprano es nostálgico, aún que la evolución vocal y lo muchísimo que amplio su técnica y registro es algo maravilloso de ver en el presente.
¡Que pena que no tendremos un dvd de cuando Simone usaba ese traje de encaje negro completo! 🥲
Totalmente de acuerdo, esas notas y ese todo de voz es mágico, yo sigo quedándome con esa tonalidad, pero eso no le quita lo increíble que ella es como artista. Respecto al otro traje también me gustaría un material de ese concierto uff sería brutal

Son gustos personales y de acuerdo con ello a mi me sigue gustando más la interpretación de "Sensorium" en su dvd en vivo 'Retrospect' lanzado en 2013.

Gotta love those small venues, when people on first row are actually so close to the stage that they can lay their arms on the edge of the stage (been there, done that), it makes the connection between the band and the audience so much closer.
