When i was a teenager i would borrow my uncle's 1.4 Clio I, it was a ton of fun to drive. I have a car with over twice the power now but i miss the analogic driving experience.
This is my first car and I still drive it every day. Mine is from 2005, and it's a 5 door version. It is not the fastest thing by any means, but it is cheap to maintain and fuel consumption is low which is important in these crazy times of expensive gasoline. And yes, I own it for almost 4 years now, and so far there are no any major problems with it, only stupid things like door lock going crazy, but I fixed that just with some grease, and I changed valve cover gasket once, since it's a known problem on these cars.
Yesterday I spotted one in a very good condition at a dealership. I asked for the price, he said it was not for sale. They are very well built, economical and extremely reliable. Enjoy your car and take care of it!
@@notme-y1m Thanks. And yes, it's one of the last "simpler" cars, since it's easy and cheap to repair even if something goes wrong. And that's why there are a lot of them around. Only thing which sucks a bit is using AC in this car, it struggles to move after that haha 😁

I have a car just like the one in the video, but here in Brazil there were never had versions with a 1.2 or 2.0 engine, here it was only with 1.0 8v and 16v and 1.6 8v and 16v engines, mine is the version with a 1.0 16v engine the d4d one and 5 doors. And I think this car is quite economical and relatively cheap to maintain as it is an old design despite the problems of a French brand car here in our ''country''...
And there's a not-so-interesting detail that I forgot to mention. The Clio II in Brazil just used the phase I interior with some minor modifications until the end of its production in 2016.
