    Airgun Detectives: would you spend some time helping us please? At 83, this Vietnam Veteran knows NOTHING about air guns. We can use an empty 3 car garage as an indoor range. Training for inside self-defense between 7 to 21 yards, stationary and moving. Here's our needs: No “slide-blow-back”; both semi + full auto; pistol or rifles=without stock/butt; detachable sights; picatinny for red dot laser; .22 caliber or larger with heavy grain pellets or BBs; for power not speed with easy loading, with no extra magazines and easy “field stripping”. Threaded barrel for real good suppressor is a must! We already have your “Steel Storm” on order. Looks and replicas mean nothing. It’s “hard-core” basics please. No pressure! If you or any of your channel readers can help, that would be great! T.I.A.

      Unfortunately, what you are requesting does not exist in the airgun world. You can however get close. You are limited in caliber and velocity in a pistol. As far as a full-auto Co2 pistol the Berreta is not bad, and I did a full review on that awhile back th-cam.com/video/qR0eREu9cpo/w-d-xo.html Here is a link for the pistol amzn.to/38vJ2GA. If you want the high velocity in a "Non-Blowback" , semi-auto, the Glock is a good choice Here is my review on that th-cam.com/video/rriOuqplAGs/w-d-xo.html Glock 19 link: amzn.to/38vnJ82 Here is another BB "Full-Auto" option for you amzn.to/3xYOQDb
      Now....here is the best option for a pellet pistol
      as far as quality and power amzn.to/3LsowWb I hope that help you and Happy Shooting!

    You should try(if you haven't yet)the Walther PPQ. My favorite pistol I own. Took me about three times playing with the rear sightm but after that..accurate as all get out. Would love to see your reaction to it. And your reaction to the trigger weight as it has a crazy pull weight, it's something 7 pounds lol. I ended up using 3m 1.5mm one sided foam on the trigger as I initially started getting a blister it was so hard. But like I said, amazing replica and just a fun pistol. Much like the cp88 competition. Used the same mags as that one too I beleive

      You Are very welcome. I could tell by what you described in this video that things we do and sometimes forced to do have an impact on our Souls. I really feel for You and I said a prayer for You after watching this one.
      I am also sorry for the loss of your Father In Law. I Saw that one the other day. God Bless His Soul In Heaven!!! I also started watching one the other day where you were lying down I think because You may have had Covid and seems like something about Your Mom but I was called away from watching it just as it began and haven't had the chance to go back and watch the whole thing. I will go back in my TH-cam history and play It again and watch. I know things for me have been really down since my best friend Libby died in April 2021.
      I can tell You Are A Good Man JC and I will continue to keep You and Your Family In My Prayers.
      As a guy who has about 35 or 40 airguns, rifles and pistols I enjoy your videos and look to them for the reviews and the data information from the testing. Which I like a lot.
      Again God Bless You Brother!!!

    Thank you for your review.
    I have one of these CO2 pistols and I loved it. I bought several magazines and was having a great time with the gun. I had trouble with the magazines leaking and I returned several to Umarex for replacement. I finally had the issue where after a couple of shots all the CO2 would rush out of the gun. Umarex said that the main seal had gone bad. Sadly I was out of warranty.
    Umarex said that I should have been using the RWS CHAMBER LUBE rather than the Crosman Pellgun Oil. Umarex says that the Pellgun Oil damages the seals on Umarex guns.
    Umarex also said that I should use their CO2. Their guns are designed for them rather than the other brands. If you compare an Umarex CO2 capsule with lets say a Crosman CO2 you will see the tips are different.
    For all my Umarex guns I use the RWS Chamber Lube and Umarex CO2.
    So far so good.
    Sadly, the S&W M&P 40 is not operational. I had spent too much money on it already and my preference has turned to pellet guns.
    I still have the pistol and I use it for dry fire training from time to time. I love the realistic feel, operation, etc. I like the changeable back straps. It shot pretty well.
    I would suggest that if you have one of these or buy one of these that you use Umarex CO2 and RWS Chamber Lube.
    I don't work for Umarex. I understand that their instructions are financially beneficial to them. So far all my Umarex guns are working fine using their CO2 and Chamber Lube. I use Crosman CO2 and Pellgun Oil for all my other guns.
    PS: Loading BBs -- I have a straw with one end taped closed. I fill the straw with BBs and by pinching the open end I can feed the BBs in while holding the spring back with the other hand.

      Richard thanks for all that great feedback. I personally have not had any issues with the Co2 cartridges or Pelgun oil so far. But that is something to think about. Again, thanks for watching.

      I also stopped using Pellgun oil recently - since being apparently a petroleum based oil and bad for O-rings. Funny thing is, that it was not a long time ago since I got my hands on a tube of Pellgun oil for the first time.😂 I nowadays use drops of silicone oil or special oil manufactured for pneumatic tools - those at least do not harm any seals. The pneumatic tool oil has even fixed gas leaking valves for me.
      The thin o-ring around the front tip of the valve probably gave in, and therefore the mag leaked quickly empty. The valve's firing pin plastic valve usually holds quite well and do not allow the gas to blow out so quickly but may though leak slowly over a longer period of time.
      I have mostly used Umarex co2 cartridges. Mainly because of those I get way cheaper than of any other brand. But yes, the tips of the cartridges may vary from brand to brand. Do not though recall any bigger issues with the cartridge tip variations.

    I just got my Umarex M&P 40 a couple of weeks ago and love it, but the only thing I dislike is the loading of the BBs individually into the magazine which is a Pain on my finger tips, I had to use a small screwdriver just to do hold down the spring to load the bbs.
    That said, Umarex needs to redsign the magazine with a follwer the locks in place and be able to use a speed loader, cause loading bbs individually is such a PITA.

    • @AirgunDetectives
      @AirgunDetectives  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use a Umarex BB loader. You can get them under $10 and it helps speed up the process. I agree, all the magazines should have a lock for the folloer👍🏻

    So I did something very dumb recently: I tried to take the safety out of my M&P 40 bb blowback pistol. The "firing block" (?) came out along with the safety pins and some other parts. After that I made an even more dumb decision and tried to put the slide back on and now it's stuck.
    Does anyone have any resources to walk me through fixing this?
    Thanks

    I have the M&P 45 CO2 pellet version...It has a good feel to it although it's not blowback, which is my preference....I massaged mine all over with 600 grit to remove the glossy finish and it actually made it "feel" better with no casting burrs......It gets more use than my Umarex M92fs Beretta which has the same internals....It's just a nice comfortable pistol........Thanks for the interesting review..John (west coast, Can.)

    Even though I personally just love KWC manufactured BB pistols oh so much - this S&W M&P40 is a pistol I have not bought. First, because even though it seemed "quite nice", it just did not "do" enough for me.. Later on I have heard of many gas leaking M&P40 magazines by several owners. And some have had even issues with broken slides and/or internal parts within the slide. I have then just not taken the risk of buying myself one - because I consider myself being a very unlucky person hen talking about risks...😁

    • @robhall39
      @robhall39 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll never buy another pistol that uses the kwc style mag. I had the Remington 1911rac and that was a piece of crap. The mag would leak and every three shots the bbs would just roll out of the barrel. The final straw was when the trigger stopped firing every second shot. I sent it back and replaced it with the Nemesis, much better gun. But those kwc, swiss arms style magazines are garbage. Those hard seals they use are way too much of a hard material. The material umarex uses, the green seals..those are the best in my opinion.

    • @brorjordas1979
      @brorjordas1979 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robhall39 I have never had any major issues with my KWC airguns. Haven't yet cracked one single plastic cartridge seal myself. Read plenty of people having issues with mags leaking gas directly out of the top - but that usually just requires to reset the valve and the most inner o-ring back into place (the valve is sometimes screwed in too loose by the factory and the o-ring might get misplaced because of the pressure).
      Got the Umarex Colt CQBP M45 1911 Rail Gun myself. Also manufactured by KWC. Never had any issues. Can't remember - but it may also most probably have that white plastic cartridge seal.. Not personally a 1911 fan myself. More into Sigs etc - but the Colt CQBP looked tactical and black enough.😂 Would never buy the Remington 1911rac myself - but just because I do not like it's looks. And now it seems that it's production might also been not so good..
      But. Way nice that you got rid of the Remington and got the Nemesis instead. I have heard it is a very good pistol - and even inexpensive.😊👍

    I also have this real M&P 40 and was considering this UMAREX for the same reason as you have it, for practise. Your reviews are well done and cover all aspects of a pistol; aesthetic looks, performance, value, etc., etc. I was actually also considering the Crosman Beretta knock-off, many for it's full auto feature. Maybe that will be my next gun, but for now I'd like this UMAREX M&P 40. You're costing me money ya know....lol. I'm looking forward to seeing more reviews.

    Yeah, I think I gotta order this. Two killer features to it: Picatinny rail and blowback. This makes it a great training tool as you can mount the Mantisx X3 on it and work on your grip and trigger control. I'll update once I have it with my impressions but seems like the best fit for home practice that is a bit more than just dryfire. Accuracy only has to be good enough to hit some steel targets like I would use in competition. Should be plenty good for that based on previous experiences with a cheaper umarex.
