Echo is about as good as it gets these days!
Great equipment!
Every echo I've ever had have been top drawer tools
@@GarageGearshindaiwa.. made them better.....
They are not that good. They are a homeowner brand at best. STHL has them beat at everything
@zack9912000 not true but stihl does make somethings better
Going all electric is a bad move
💯agree!
they put out an official policy statement to the media about a year ago saying they will be getting rid of all gas powered outdoor equipment in compliance with democrat party policy on eliminating small gasoline engine powered equipment
Prob swirching to propane
Same
Yeah it is.. echo is a great brand.. other makers might make a better chainsaw.. but you’d be hard pressed to get a better bang for your buck than the srm-225… awesome weed whacker.
Agreed! Can’t believe they are getting rid of them! Unreal!
I agree. Lawman here.
@@GarageGear they still sell them on there site online only
You'd be hard pressed to get better bang for your buck for an Echo CS590 Timberwolf chainsaw. I'd take it over a new Farmboss or a Rancher anytime.
Most arborists use echo as their limbing saw
Bad move by HD 👎
Agreed!
Echo been good for me for many decades
They make great products!
They don't break.
Although I run Husqvarna trimmers and they've been great too.
I agree
Ok so I rescued an srm-225.. left for dead on the side of a barn, gutter dripping on it mid winter.. entire engine housing was a block of ice! Soaked the combustion chamber in marvel mystery for a couple weeks.. ran echo red armor and some non-ethanol premium 50/50.. by some stroke of god, it fired! Sounds like a washing machine full of rocks 😆 but point is, IT RUNS TO THIS DAY!! That was 3 years ago and it is my primary trimmer!! Solid piece of equipment!
These things can’t be killed lol! Thanks for sharing!
I rescued an Echo PE-200 that smokes but runs! New carburetor kit on the way. This one sounds like a washing machine with rocks too 😅
You're echo trimmer is a true legend! If i buy another trimmer, it will be Echo.
200 is what I spent for a srm-225 new back in 2009
They’re worth every penny!
Too bad. I love my Echo chainsaw. 2nd one I've owned. 100% trouble free.
Bad move for Home Depot.
I agree, and I have trimmer over 20 years.
I think it’s because they’re going battery only.
My Echo stuff came from a dealer anyway. Gotta support those guys. They keep your gear running.
Thanks for sharing dc
My father bought a SRM-2100 in 1993 and it gets used every week in the summer time the only thing that we have ever put on it is a carburetor
Can’t beat em!
What about echo 2620T and 3020T? They are most reliable and much cheaper and simpler to fixed compare to Stihl. I live in Texas like Houston and college station. Gotta say, it will hurt Home Depot’s valuation in New York a lot!
Sure will not everyone has a small lot and can use batteries.
A major move toward electric trimmers and planned obsolescence.
Scary thought James! I’m sticking with gas!
Haven't confirmed in store but still $249 online for my store.
Yeah in store they are clearing them out. Both stores by me are doing the same thing. Thanks for watching done!
It's not happening....Echo is shipping Spring orders to their stores as we speak.
Yup still $249. I might go get one today. My ryobi battery weed wacker is all jacked up. Time to upgrade
I just got mine a month ago for $199 free delivery in Michigan
I still have my trimmer from 05
Thanks for sharing ben
Yes, bad move. Echo seems to be a good reliable brand with many good products! May get a Echo trimmer some day soon.
Can’t go wrong with them!
Definitely bad move ….I’ll bet your picking one up JB!
Ya never know! 👍
Here, we are 10 months later, and we have Home Depots with Echo brand trimmers on their shelves.😅😂😂😂 this didn't age well Home Depot!
All the locations by me are done with echo! Not a single in sight! NY is trying to stop the sale of gas equipment and go all electric. It’s stupid!
@GarageGear Ok that explains it. I was going to ask you if you were in camifornia or New York.
@GarageGear still selling great up here in upstate ny
For someone who has over an acre of land to blow/mow/trim, going electric is not going to work for me. It could be done, but I don't want to deal with the headache of crap never being charged, or carrying a cord around. I also like serviving my own equipment (and other people's,) and electric stuff is more of a use up and throw away type deal. I have been collecting as many trimmers, blowers, and mowers as I can lately, because it is getting harder and harder to find them as they are being replaced in stores with electric toys.
💯Agree! Batteries don’t work for big lawns!
Still plenty of Echo trimmers in the deep south Home Depots.
Good to know thanks for sharing
Have had an Echo trimmer and chainsaw for over 25 years. Great stuff.
Great equipment!👍
I just picked a $230 trimmer for $125 on clearance.
ROCK ON CALI!
ECHO products sold in the USA are made (or assembled) in Illinois.
They are an upper quality product, with ownership in Japan and products made in the U.S., China and Japan.
Home Depot is probably going to sell an inferior product using their own label.
Could be the plan. Thanks for sharing
Dam I’ll have to check my Home Depot maybe there clearancing Hondas out too haha
Maybe! Worth a look! 👍
Right
Neve that
Honda gone for good
I just bought the curved version , wasn’t many at my local store
Completely gone in western NY locations
They’re probably going all battery powered stuff
Yep that’s what they did here
They are going to carry them but only electric units, The rural Home Depot stores like mine still carry gas echo but the city stores will only carry battery is what I have seen…. It’s is however harder and harder to find good equipment today. I’m starting a Subaru Small engine collection because they no longer are made
Thanks for sharing this Anthony!
I purchased the SRM225 today for $225 at Home Depot.
@@monroemichael6029 I’m in western New York and they are gone!
@GarageGear I'm located in Merritt Island, Florida. They had tons of inventory. Stihl may be your next best option.
@@monroemichael6029 I can still grab echo stuff online and dealers sell them around here just not home depot
They got rid of Estwing hammers recently too. And I missed the sales! Both bad moves if you ask me…
Really? Wow what is this world coming to? Thanks for sharing!
They want more profit from the lineup , shoppers are smart and want a good value for their money . This is the downfall , the new disclaimer is it’s rated for 50 hours of usage ,commercial usage is 300 hrs . You can get kits to fix small issues with the units but they’ve broken up the components for profit , kits come partial and raises the cost for a diy to fix . So I priced this breakdown at over $90 for just marginal maintenance, the diy crowd has found the same repair kit at amazon for less than $25 . and this includes a carb
Thanks for sharing david
Definitely a bad move
Definitely
Still in stock at my Home Depot for $250
What state are you in?
I was in Home Depot yesterday and there full with echo products. The price even went up
What state are you in?
If I were looking for a trimmer I'd pick one of those up, but I just bought a Stihl trimmer last year so I'm good for a while.
That’s great! They are a good product. Thanks for sharing.
Echo is awesome. I’ve had one for 10 yrs now. Never changed even the spark plug and it starts like it’s brand new. Never lost power nothing. I would never buy a Stihl weed eater when the echo is so good at the price it is.
Thanks for sharing aj!
Bad move.
Maybe we can find them next door at Lowe’s now. 😂
That’s what I’m kinda hoping for but who knows! They picked up ariens after Home Depot got rid of them. We’ll see! How have you been bud?
@@GarageGear Doing well, JB!
How’s life in NW New York??
@@paulmysliborski4832 life is good my friend! Looks like we’re pushing toward lawn equipment here real soon! I’m in Lancaster NY just outside of Buffalo btw! 👍enjoy your weekend bud!
I JUST BOUGHT MINE 2 CYC GAS ITS COMING TODAY FROM HOME DEPOT
Awesome!
Bought an electric mower last year after I bought my first house.
1 year later and I couldn’t deal with it no more, it just doesn’t have the power necessary to get work done. Bought a new Honda mower before it’s too late to get one .
Thanks for sharing this my friend!
I saw this video a couple months ago and thought it would not happen here for another year or two. Two weeks ago I went to one of Madison's Home Depot's and they no longer carry any gasoline trimmers or blowers of any brand. Only battery garbage on the shelves. I went to a locally owned True Value Hardware store and bought an Echo 2320T for $249, $40 off retail price.
I can’t believe Home Depot is dropping all gas products. Stupid!
Srm 225s are on sale for $175 at my store I picked up a pas 225sb
Thanks for sharing nc!
Echo is the BEST equipment sold today. I always purchase online so it doesn't matter to me.
Sure is! Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
i just got a used echo trimmer it turns on soo fast no problem
MTD has made some deal with the big box stores to remove other brands and only sell whatever MTD makes.
Thanks for sharing GI!
Guess I’m getting an echo. Don’t see any deals in Wyoming
Get ‘em while they’re hot!
Geez Honda is leaving and now this? Toro converting to electric… HD will soon sell zero gas
Zero gas is trash not to mention producing electricity and batteries are worse for the environment.
Crazy world we’re in now!
@@shanew7361 agreed!
They dont care, people will buy whatever they put on the shelf
It’s sad that’s the way it is.
@@GarageGear fully agree
I’m in California and they aren’t clearing them out here. I wish they did, I’d be buying a few.
Thanks for sharing Gus!
It’s what I use weekly!!
ROCK ON Roy!
Stopped at our local store and manager says that they are unaware of them discontinuing Echo
What state are you in! I think only NY and CA are doing this!
My local store said they are clearing out anything with the 2stroke engine in all the brands
Hey Jamie, ever store is going with only battery which I don’t think is a good idea.
Yes that is
Thanks for watching!
Dirt cheap!
Great deal!
Home Depot hopped onto the financial struggle bus a few months ago. ESG is now forcing The Home Depot into compliance. This is called, "being slave to the lender"
Thanks for sharing!
my HD has several echo trimmers-blowers, but Im in a free state with no stupid mandates for electric. I also have several echo- stihl dealers to choose from...I snagged a honda HRN 216 before they are gone
Thanks for sharing dmb
Support your family owned local business who sells and services your equipment. Lots of great Echo dealers out there.
They get my support! 👍
It’s a bad move but they told me all gas power equipment is going
Thanks for sharing Paul! What state are you in?
New york in west Seneca
I wish I’d have seen this, I just transitioned BACK to gas power from electric junk.
ROCK ON Turret! All echo stuff is completely gone at my local Home Depot’s!
I like Echo.. think the electric/battery stuff is for small yards..
💯agree
I like the Worx trimmer. Can't wait til i'm in my 80's to get one.
Terrible move! Echo was the brand i was looking for, not the other stuff😂😂😂
💯agree!
Wish I seen this sooner.
Thanks for watching!
Hey JB, just catching up on the shorts here! I haven’t heard about this, I’m wondering if this will be the same here up in Canada? I’ll have to check next time at our local Home Depot! They also sell Echo up here to . Currently, there still is echo products here.. Since this short, have they phased it out down your way? Nevertheless, Thanks for pointing this out 🔥💯👍. Ya an I don’t think that a good move! The few items that I’ve used over the years seems to work well for me. Take care. Andrew from NB :)
You’ll have to let me know what you find at your Home Depot in Canada. It’s pretty crazy that they’re getting rid of them. It’s a dumb decision. When I went to Home Depot, I haven’t seen any Echo products since posting this short. Hope you’re having a good weekend.
@@GarageGear thanks for the update JB! I’ll let you know next time I’m in! Those products are right at the front of ours so if they are not there… it will definitely stand out with me lol. If they are there I’ll ask the staff to see if they know anything about it! Thanks for posting this short, I find these ones pretty interesting 🤔 take care an alittle late, but cheers to a great weekend bud! Andrew from NB :)
@@Andrew_From_NB have a great week my friend!
Hey JB, was at Home Depot tonight and looks like there is no change yet, Echo is still there, I didn’t get a chance to talk to anyone there though to ask about it, hope to next time! Have a great week buddy! Cheers. Andrew from NB :)
@@Andrew_From_NB thanks for the update Andrew! Keep me posted! Have a great weekend too my friend!
Thats only marked down 20.00
Never see them marked down ever!
I have an Echo backpack blower for 15yrs. No issues. I was gonna buy another Echo one. They lost my Buisness
You can still get them online weather nut! Thanks for watching
35 years of residential/commercial tree work and I worked for a guy who would not buy anything but Echo chain saws in the 80s. I tried to tell him that they were good home owner saws but not up to par when compared to Stihl or Husqvarna. A couple years ago I purchased an Echo CS-2511 T and was amazed. I've since then purchased a string trimmer that I am very impressed with. Bad move HD.
Once you try echo it’s eye opening! Lol! Definitely a bad move!
@@GarageGear They've come a long ways since the 80s that for sure.
They are phasing to battery powered nationwide. All gas powered equipment except mowers are getting clearanced They still sell battery echo stuff. I just got a cs400 chainsaw today for $200.00
What is this world coming to. Thanks for sharing!
Ridiculous
Echo is the best Brand for weedeaters, hedge trimmers and honestly even chainsaws. Stihl Chainsaws and Husqvarnas are good too, but their other tools dont compete with echo
Thanks for sharing bud
They are still carrying in floridaecho
That’s great that they are still carrying near you! All depends on location. Hopefully they come back in stores eventually out my way. Thanks for watching.
HD in my part of Florida still stocks ten different gas trimmers including several Echo models. My battery trimmer is great for light work, but cannot handle heavier work or reclaiming an edge like the Echo 225. I’m waiting for Echo’s 56v 5ah to have a promotional discount and try it out. It looks like the perfect prosumer model
Thanks for sharing Sony
Bad move.
Agreed!
Not happening. Gear Guy is using a $14/hour associate as his source. Echo is alive and well in The Home Depot.
Dude I need that edger bad for the price
Echo is all gone now at my Home Depot’s!
Damn fr will I’m located in Chicago and I work in landscaping those are the trimmers we need in our business sometimes we looking for those Echos good equipment to have. Gotta go see on my nearest Home Depot if they have Echo in stock.
You’ll have to check it out and see if you have any in stock. I know that New York is different than Illinois so you’ll have to let me know what you find. Thanks for watching.
I got mine in california for $200 about 4 months ago
@@robbie5138 good to know!
Good move for theyre intended plan. Echo isnt growing theyre electric tools so they are gonna make more room for TTI products. But personally i wouldve kept echo as the only gas brand in store.
Echo is completely gone now at my local Home Depot! But what about us guys with larger lawns? Batteries don’t cut it!
Bad move echo top knotch they last practically forever
Agreed!
I guess I will be shop at lowes now
I’m not sure if Lowe’s carries Echo. You may have to get it online or at a dealer.
I live in NY & bought a few items at full price. Where is this Home Depot at?
Hey Jessie, the Home Depot’s in the Buffalo area have stopped selling them!
Wonder what brand they will carry now and then...🤔
They’re moving to all battery stuff here in NYS!… lame
@@GarageGear damn... EV crap
At my Home Depot, in Lone Tree coloado, they are still selling echo
Not here in NY unfortunately!
@@GarageGear
But in colorado they are
@@TheLawnCarenut-2 we have some very liberal policies that are trying to make everything electric in the next few years
If you come to colorado and take a look in the Lone Tree store
Who told you that that’s a Old Model they’re getting rid of.
They are no longer at our Home Depot’s in NYS. Other states will carry them.
Yeah, bad move Home Depot. The echo equipment is the best equipment y’all sell to be honest and I know because I have gotten so many different brands that y’all sell of Weedwhacker’s and all the other brands don’t even last me one year but the echo trimmer‘s have lasted me Over six years so y’all better think about it before y’all get rid of them all together and yes, I’m going to be canceling my account with y’all if y’all get rid of the echo equipment
Not a good move by Home Depot. Hopefully they realize and bring them back in our NY stores. Thanks for watching.
Inside scoop is they are moving to yardmax.
The Home Depot’s near me have gotten rid of almost all gas engine equipment.
I’ll take one for that price!
I’ll take two
The only way this coild be a good thing is if they start carrying Stihl!
That’s not bad but I haven’t seen any stihl products at my Home Depot’s unfortunately.
I'm in Commie Cali, and we have some in stock. I wonder if I can just walk out with one.
Hahaha ya never know lol!
Go for it!!!!!
@@miguelangelpena1078 I chickened out and got the pas 225. LOL.
I have the straight shaft version with changeable heads, i love it! Echo is a hreat brand, ive had a lot of others and now echo for the last 10 years or so, it starts year after year, all i do is put Stabil in it every fall.

ROCK ON Moon!
They’re screwing up

Echo makes great stuff!
Yep it’s greed
Crazy that their doing it.

If they had the 2620 or the 3020 I would buy one now. Those are some mean weed whackers
Sure are!
I always had good luck with my echos.
Same here! Awesome machines!
They make a dam good weed whip and I ain’t kidding
💯 agree!
If it gets replaced by Stihl or Husqvarna, then it was the correct choice. Echo is a little bit cheaper than the two European brands, but in my opinion it doesn't hold up to the extended use.
You can get a Stihl FS70 for $50 more, and in my opinion it will be worth it every time. Even for a homeowner instead of a professional.
Thanks for sharing
I have 3 in my garage ,2 work great 1 for parts. To bad Home Depot.
Definitely a bad move!
I wonder if Lowes will start carrying Echo brand in the future? Gotta get Echo somewhere close by.
Doubt it. Dealers and shops only or online from here on out.
They got wise and are selling Stihl!
My Home Depot doesn’t carry stihl products. They’re going battery on everything
