I agree Stihls are frustrating when they get old. But the attachments and versatility is amazing that we still buy them for some things. We had a red max EB28500 last over 10 years, amazing leaf blower just not as power as the H 580, but way more reliable
Love my Echo weed trimmer! Beats the socks off the other brands I've owned. Great video, Brian! I've always valued your opinions and observations of the various brands of lawn equipment out there. I'm in a caregiver situation this year, but I'm finding it hard to stay inside when the lawn is calling me and the weather is so nice! All the best to you, Brian!
I’m a Stihl guy. We run 131R’s because we do a lot of hillsides and creek banks. 91R is good too though especially if you’re just doing residential yards, but 131 is same weight with more power.
Are you using many of the Stihl's 4-mix engines? how are they holding up? I'm asking seriously as I'm looking purchasing a fair bit of equipment, the knocks on the 4-mix are their cheap carburetor's and plastic camshafts, that will melt if running the engine to hot. At least that is what people is saying. Have you seen any of those issues?
@@SA99144 yeah ive use moto mix its the best plus saves time then waiting in line up at gas stations and having to mess around with little bottles of oil mix
The 2620 PAS system is the best! We use that for overgrown trimming, and we use it for hedge trimming up high, pole saw, and edging. We then use the smaller echo 225? for weekly trimming because it is lighter to carry around all day. I heard from a little birds that taking the carbon filter off the smaller echos make them run a lot smoother and longer…
Agreed, first choice is based on service availability. If you're in the stihl line and doing commercial work. Don't waste your time with anything below 131s. We run 4 131s bicycles (not sure why never see those on TH-cam) 2 131 kombis they can run all attachments in just about any situation. Serving 150 properties a week from postage stamps to large boxes these machines have been kicking it for 5 years. Go big, do your maintenance, and they will keep you marching. Same with blowers get the big 800s, we love side pulls with no issues. Have 1 or 2 handheld blowers for those postage stamp properties, we like the battery light and quick, usually two batteries per day. Best of luck, keep marching!!
When Stihl’s get old they can be annoying, however a lot of that has to do with carbon buildup inside the exhaust manifold. Stihl is designed to run with the throttle wide open, which burns off that extra carbon. It seems kinda ridiculous, but I asked my Stihl rep why they’re like that and they said in order to please emissions laws internationally the only thing they could reasonably come up with was “all or nothing throttle.” In my own experience I’ve found that before shutting the machine down, running it wide open for a few seconds first seems to take care of the issue. Have almost all Stihl for my setup after figuring that out and they’ve been going strong for a solid 5 years.
This is actually why I switched to echo the 3020t to replace my 91 love it but I have a lot of flower beds and trim around trailers I go around and my trimmers kept running rough after a year sometimes slightly less
I agree on the 2620. But I ran that for a month and I came across a yard that was hard to cut liek 4ft high it’s nice having extra power. That’s why I also have a 3020T that sucker cuts amazing
Been in the lawn care service for 40 plus years. I have used the Redmax, Shindaiwa, Stihl, and Husqvarna. In my opinion the echo string trimmers have less vibration than the others. Your hands tingle less at the end of the day.
I started in 2010 with an Echo SRM-225 with the Echomatic head. I ended last year with that same trimmer. Quit lawn care, but still run the trimmer on my 2 acre property. Now has a Speedfeed 400 on it. It's the only string trimmer I've ever bought new and the only one I carried on my trailer for 12 yrs. It's never not started. Always ran ethanol free gas with Amsoil Sabre mix. Did the Youcan kit 5 or so yrs ago. It's served me well.
I only have experience with Echo and Stihl. The thing that I've noticed is Stihl products typically are designed to be ran "all or nothing" wide open, full throttle. This is very useful in some applications but not all. Echo from my experience has a bit better throttle variance which I take advantage of especially when running a string trimmer near vulnerable areas like windows etc. This is why I tend to prefer Echo.
Great vid! One thing that I learned is redundancy... have a back up with you. Better 2 mid grade trimmers or blowers than one top of the line of either. A Kombi set is great for this.
I mean they are 2 different levels and the 225 was never meant for commercial use really…despite guys doing it. And they replace every year to every other because they are so cheap
Honestly for me! Echo gt-225! I have 4 of those! I love them so much! The Quick change Line is a Life saver!i use it with no cap, 1 foot long line that least one whole yard! Refuel ever 6 yard! I am sold! Dont give me anything else! Also i love the curb shaft and lightness
Echo pas system or sthil kombi system Weed eater, edger, hedge trimmer, brush cutter all in one. Personal preference is the echo pas. Love it Favorite piece of equipment
May not be the most popular choice among people but I am actually really enjoying the electric industry and what it's bringing to market. I'm currently a solo company and I run EGO across the board. All batteries work for every piece of equipment. Every piece has great power so far, more than enough for what I have needed and the best part, zero maintenance. Yes, batteries are expensive when time to replace them but in the end the cost of gas, oil, and all maintenance parts and headaches it most likely equals out. I'm a big convience guy, less time on maintenance means more family and me time which is the biggest win in my book. Plus in a few years it'll probably be about the only thing on the market I'd bet. To each their own, I'm liking electric
I run an EGO multi-tool using it as an lawn edger and also own their leaf blower. Their 56 volt tools are beast mode...I'm sick of the hassle with 2-stroke motors not wanting to start even after running them out of fuel before winter...
I have done professional landscaping for years in 3 states. now on gulf cost of Florida with year round lawn care. Have used echo/shindawa, honda, husqvarna and stihl. Stihl is hands down the best . occasionally another brand will win out on a single spec but fall short else where. Stihl wins overall design, comfort/ergonomics, durability, ease of maintenance, and fuel efficiency. Br800c (side pull start great feature) best blower. Fs91 just fine for edging and trimming 131 for heavy trimming. Kombi motors for hedge trimming. Keep your fleet all one brand save on parts. Still have one husqvarna saw and one echo trimmer in the fleet because you cant judge without trying but they are the least used by the crew.
My first trimmer was an older cub cadet cc2000 that's as old as I am. It worked well until the head wore out on it and then I decided it was time for an Echo.(I have since put a ryobi kombi shaft on the Cub cadet motor with a speed feed 400 on it.) I went with the PAS 2620 with the pro torque head and put the bigger 20in shield on it, just can't make myself take the shield off! I went the kombi route because l could get more tools for less money while still having the 2620 motor. My first blower was a 9010 echo, and l love it. We also won a limited edition 580 that's nice for grass clippings etc. I only do 5ish yards so l dont need dedicated units, but its enough to justify nice tools! When l went to buy my echo trimmer, l learned a lot from your videos so thanks!!
We run a lawn care company in Canada. For leaf blowers we run a lot of Husq 580BTS. The most powerful (I believe still) for blowing snow, and comfortable, downside sometimes cracked fuel lines in cold weather and tubes coming apart we have to tape them together. For weed trimmers the shindawa T235. Good combo of light and powerful. Downside the guard around the head is a bit bulky
Great video. I run the Redmax EBZ7500, Echo SRM-2620, and hedge trimmer is the Echo SHC-225. I hear you totally on the buy once/cry once theory and so far it's not let me down. All the above listed equipment has helped me power through various jobs easily with very little struggle. I would have gone Echo for my blower too as I'm a big fan of Echo equipment but I am friends with one of my local Redmax dealers and he gave me a deal I couldn't resist on the 7500. Just like choosing your mowing equipment, it's imperative you choose wisely for handhelds too.
Echo all the way for us! 3-echo 9010 blowers, 4- echo 2620 trimmers/ 3 of them PAS system heads. Attachments, chainsaws, ect... that being said, that's what our dealer has and supports! That's truly the most important thing! Great job Brian as always!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I feel your much better off getting from a dealer. 1. You can't get the commercial units at home depot. 2. It's all about building that relationship with your dealer so that when something goes down, you have them to fix it quick and get you back out there! 😁😉
Brian, good afternoon! Cary here in Lexington, NC. Have had a Lawn Care Service for one year, but that was "just" a side-hustle. Now, as of one month ago, it IS my day job. Purchased the ECHO PAS-2620 and several attachments. Made that decision (to go with the "attachment series" vs dedicated devices) because it simply fits me better. I am VERY happy with my choice. The Blower Attachment with the PAS-2620 works well for how I use it (clean up after mowing) but don't think that it would suffice when it is time to blow leaves. I will be investing in a dedicated backpack blower for that. I really appreciate all of the advice that you give out. While I am "young" in the lawn care business, I am 56 yo! Still pretty young, but not 22 any longer! HA! HA! Really love your "Best 'Insert Equipment Here' for 'Insert Year Here'" Videos. Very useful, informative, and fun. I will likely ALWAYS go with ECHO, it is good to know what is out there. So, thank you, Brian! Much appreciate all of your guidance in the YT Videos.
I run maruyama b30l turbo, and a 145bt husqvarna, it was a freebie, started out with a echo 225 trimmer came with mower package. Gave up on it within a month in my first season
I worked for Maintenance Engineers Inc. during the 90's doing lawn and garden services for Air Force we ran all Echo Equipment but we were constantly replacing parts left and right very seldom did we ever get a new piece of equipment if we did the Foreman usually beat the snot out of it and then hammy downed it to the guys on the Weed Eating crew or Blower Crews, so when I decided to start my own lawn care business I went with Stihl and never looked back 25+ years and only had one String Trimmer fail. When I retire a piece of equipment I usually either give it to a young go getter or a needy family. I like the FS91R for string trimmers but my Brother who now works with me likes the FS94. For the Edger I run FC91. Blowers depends on what yard I am mowing I will use the BR800X or a handheld BG86CE . My Hedgers are the HS56 and HL94K and Chainsaw I carry the MS271 Farm Boss or the MS170 for the lightweight work and a HT135 Pole Saw that I bought used from a guy who was in need of some money for $250 All I did to it was a quick cleanup and new chain and I have got 5 years of service. Like you mentioned once you pick a brand you might as well stick to them. Stihl has treated me right over the last 25+ years.
@Todd Rhine As far as I'm concerned, I think they just changed the gearing ratio to introduce more torque. Nothing else was inherently changed. As a professional, I wouldn't get the standard 2320 unless there was a significant price difference.
Stihl fs131r all the way if you have large property or commercial landscaping! I have one and I absolutely love it! As far as blowers go, i’m gonna have to say either Stihl br 800c/x or echo pb 9010t
I was a die hard Stihl guy. Every single hand held was Stihl. But the weed eaters seemed to go down in quality since the FS90 series died. I made the switch to the 2620T echo and it’s been 4 years now. I Stihl run everything else Stihl 💪
I used everything Stihl and Wright stander for my mower can’t go wrong my opinion when I started out 13 years back echo got me by but Stihl is night and day the way to go 😉
Echo makes a straight shaft for the edger attachment btw. And I still have my first Echo 225 trimmer running after 8 years but I would recommend the 266 to start with. Great video Brian!
Man I haven’t been in the industry for 6 years but I remember as a teen I’ve always wanted the Toto commercial lawn mowers or e max mowers and for weed eaters and leaf blowers either stihl or husqivarna. I started helping my dad out at the age of 8 and stopped at 18 but I’m going to get back into it
I have an echo 2320t I am surprised they didn’t have that instead of the srm 225. The 2320t is taking the 225’s place. I have a shindaiwa 262t trimmer which is my go to. Super light and I prefer the engine head of shindaiwa than echo. I have an echo pb580 t blower which does well. Used it for leaf jobs just takes longer. Definitely looking for a bigger blower in the future. Thanks for the video 👍🏼💯
I like my echo 225’s super cheap and light now I do have a 2620T for heavy jobs I have a ditch trimming job yearly I use the 2520T on And the 800c is super nice
Echo is my absolute favorite power equipment brand, especially the blowers. I have the pb580 hip throttle backpack blower. I’ve had it for over a year. Always starts on 2nd or 3rd pull.
I started with a husqvarna 128hd trimmer/edger/blower and it was a piece of crap, I use a sthil fs91r and km91r for trimming and edging and I like them, but they are a little heavy and I don't love having to adjust the valves. My backpack blower is a husqvarna and I've been happy with it so far.
Thanks for sharing! I actually have to go there today to replace my echo 2620. I’ve had it less than a year as I’m about a year in as a part time landscaper. Just yesterday, I was doing a weed job (parking lot full of weeds and glass and debris) where my echo was my only tool on the truck. After the job, I loaded my only tool on the trimmer rack on my trailer, came home, saw family outside on their way to get ice cream, and joined them. Came back home to unload trailer, my echo was gone! I checked home camera and could see that the trimmer was not on the trailer and I’m 1000% positive that I walked to the trailer and placed it in the rack! Came back to the scene and of course no trimmer because I put it on the trailer. This indicates that it must have fallen off (which I took the same route hoping to see it) which is sad a scary at the same time. Right before that job, a guy honked me to tell me that my blower was dragging on the street. Something I seem to forget a lot lately! Based on your review, I guess I’ll be replacing it with the same echo although I hate how it throws rocks at me as I trim backwards which seems to cut the grass (and me) better than going forward. Young (older) grasshopper here!
Interested in your thoughts on EGO? Bought a 300+ trimmers, very powerful two speed. The battery is enough for my pasture and cuts through almost almost anything My only complaint is that the automatic string can really fuck up a line when it decides to shoot out in the middle of a pass it gives no warning except fast vibrations Yeah it wouldn't recommend especially when trying to be clean as a commercial contractor The nice parts are the hi low speed and the easy feed which is fine if you have a couple hillbilly acres 😅
We just started business this year and for startup equipment we went with two stihl 700 leaf blowers and two stihl fs 131 weed trimmers. Maybe went too crazy for just starting out 😂
Can we get your bros to do a breakdown? I mean, not everyone knows how model #s work, and different versions of the same model. Ie: 5150 has been around for a while, they probably tweaked it since the first 5150 production runs. Some people like me, like seeing how a model evolved, and how well they listen to customers who buy it. You did touch that on the echo one.
echo all the way solid equipment I put it in garage at end of season and during the spring without any maintenance my weed hacker and backpack blower both start on first pull its so satisfying (I do yearly maintenance but still nice to know they start right up after sitting for 5 months)
What I run for my side hustle is: Echo 2520 handheld blower ( I have. ES 250 as a backup) Echo SRM 2620 (before my SRM 225 was my mine trimmer, now it’s my backup) Echo HC 152 hedge trimmers Honda HRN 170 mower( before my Honda HRR 216 was my mine, now it’s my back up)
I'm a big echo fan, got a kombi 225 with a trimmer and edger attachment. Got a 2620t trimmer, a 770t backpack, and a 2620 handheld blower. I love my 2620t and 770t, the reason I got a handheld is for my really small lawns that I have several of, and it almost has as much power as a 580t. My pas 225 is a backup weed whip, and a good edger. I do all HOA maintenance so my edges are just weekly growth which it does fine with. I'm thinking for next year I'll probably get a hedge trimmer attachment for it. I might also try out a husky 525lst, I've heard they're light and powerful. Thanks for all the videos, and for this buying guide, wish I had some Redmax in my area to try out.
I'm just starting out this year and I made my first big purchase on a 34'' Toro Timecutter zero turn. I also purchased a Stihl BR600 Leaf Blower, both from Weingartz out in Utica Michigan. Been doing a lot of research and learned that those two units are a good starting point for a residential lawn care business in the beginning. I'm a huge fan of yours as well so thank you for all your advice. Love listening to you and watching your videos, huge motivation to me. Please tell me what you think about the Toro TimeCutter, would love to get your opinion on that.
Question... 1st thank you for your tips and honesty. 1st question.. what's the difference between a commercial and home use equipment? I consider myself home use, although I cut 23 yards in 2 weeks. And 2nd, I run echo srm225 , exho 580t and cub cadet zt1 42".. will these hold up for the number of yards I have? Average cut 35 mins.
Would love to try out the 9010 at some point but currently using a 770. Have my first cleanup up the season tomorrow. Straight pushing leaves into the wood line. Should be fun.
Every company will tell you that they have the best this and that in this industry, but the 9010-T blower has worked miracles in my cleanups, it is the most powerful one, but make sure you have those headphones by 3M handy.
I love redmax blowers and trimmers btw still use the eb7000 still runs! And the handheld unit is solid. Echo shc 225 and pas 265 for attachments, backup. Shin weedtrimmer, although redmax still my go to weedtrimmer...there all good commercial products tbh just maintain and your good to go. Advise for new guys start small then work up your inventory to better and more powerful blowers etc. Also you dont need the most powerful blower on market, my redmax has the power but i barely rev it and its enough power i need, i mean are you going up against a tornado? 😁
Yeh anytime I just turned 14 and I’m going into the lawn care business this year. I’ve kinda gotten off to a great start. Your book I have almost read all of it. It has helped me so much and made me realize things I need to do that I didn’t even know about. It has helped me SO MUCH. Thank you for the wonderful advice.
I‘ve had a Stihl BR800C for a year and I love it. I disagree about the hip/side start. I find it comes in handy quite often, especially when I’m doing apartment complexes or even single family homes. People always come up and try to talk while I’m blowing off, and instead of having to take my blower off, set it down, crank it back up, and put it back on, I just give the 800 a gentle pull and I’m right back rolling. It always starts on the first or second pull, too.
Hey Brian, this was one of the most educational videos I've seen in a while about Lawncare Equipment. Great job man! Would you be able to talk about maintenance some time? I'm up in Canada, and Stihl and Husqvarna are the one two choices up here, Echo seems to be a third for the most part, yet the guys that run Echo's just shake their heads at Stihl and Husky fan boys. I've quickly scanned the comments, and I see Echo coming up a LOT more than Stihl, and I don't think I saw any Husky guys chiming in at the time of me posting. It would be VERY cool to see a discussion between an Echo user, and a Stihl, or Redmax user, and discuss cost of ownership, downtimes, repair costs, etc. Thanks again for the amazing work you put into these videos! Fantastic info! I really do appreciate the time you take to put into these. I've learned a lot from you guys.
Regarding Trimmers, I will always remember researching and coming across a small engine mechanic giving their perspective. They said, Stihls were regularly in the shop whereas Echo's very rarely even, practically never, ever came in for repairs. Bad for business but, good for Owner/Operators. I run Echo PAS-225's. 2620's are nice but, way too heavy if your doing overhead hedge trimming hours on end. RedMax is non existent on the West Coast of Canada.
9010 is a powerful blower. Only thing is mine takes a long time to warm up after starting, after nearly three years. Probably I'll take it in for warranty repair.
Thanks ... currently using Ryobi 4cycyle Trimmer combi attachment with blower hedge trimmer and edger...thinking bout Husqvarna battery, Kobolt 80v, or gas Echo 2620 ... might stick with Echo for a while.
Im running a husqvarna 525l its really light and pretty powerful. When you get them from the store you hot to lean the carb out a lot to get full power they run pig rich from the factory. Im thinking about picking me up an echo or a red max soon though as my old fs55 i started with is on its last legs
Echo 9010T blower, Echo 2620T Trimmer with Edgit Pro running Speed Feed 450 and .130 line. Echo 2620 PAS system for edger, pole pruner and articulating hedge trimmer. Echo 2620 with articulating small head.
Been driving myself nuts looking for a 4-cycle equivalent to the stihl fs56 as mine is from 2010. I have to fill it 2 sometimes 3 times to trim the grass and I'm 6'4" trimming in ditches can be a pain as most trimmer are little short for me. I'd rather a curve shaft as I'm right handed the straight shaft usually fill my boots with grass.
I’m not a professional but into lawn care. I’m still using my Homelite weed eater and blower that I got from the big orange box over 20 years ago. How Id like to upgrade but they still run. Obviously fuel lines have been replaced.
I have a Maruyama b30L Turbo and for me is the more capable trimmer ever, (over echo lineups, redMax and somes entry level Sthil) is 30cc, powerful, lighter, 7yr in warranty bar and very low maintenance overall, not specialized filters or adjustment in piston. My top 3 Maruyama, Shindawa, Sthil.
Echo SRM 225 or 230, have one that’s 15 years old. Been dogged out, neglected still going. Echo 115 hedge trimmers 15 years old, lost the air filter & box.. been going for years. Commercial use. Ran hard, put up wet. The Stihl haven’t kept up.
I have a 1/4 acre yard and "overdo" it with the equipment but IDC. I like Having more than I need. I have the Stihl 91KM R with the attachments but I recently ditched the string trimmer part of it and bought the Echo 225 trimmer..much lighter and I love the feeder head. I use the Stihl for the edger, hedge trimmer and pole pruner saw. For blower I use the Echo 580T but was thinking of either getting the Stihl 600 or Echo 770. Not sure yet. Thanks.
@Brian, starting my business and curious on your opinion. Looking at 6.5x12 single axle trailer for $2700. 2,050 cargo limit. Just looking to do residential with some small commercial. Currently larges mower is a 36 Velke and toro timemaster, eventually plan on a stander in the 48-52 area. My question is, am I wasting my money on the trailer? They have a 7x14 for $4,100. I realize it’s not much more, but trying to save where I can to get started. Thanks, and I’m really learning a lot from you👍👍
Thanks for sharing Brian. I'm a bit disappointed, I'm Husqvarna all the way. Use 10 + year old, trimmers, zero turn, blower, push mower, good equipment if cared for properly. Husqvarna now has a speed load trimmer head for $29.95. I haven't used it yet, but I'll report back later in the summer on how it works.
I have a pressure cleaning business, and im looking for a low end commercial petrol leaf/debris blower mostly for prestarting a job i blow away any loose debris off the surface like; gum nuts, loose stones, sticks, plant matter etc. I then will use it later on after sanding just to blow the excess sand off the surface, as well as a final clean up. Is there any recommendations? Even hand held ones? Also what are your thoughts on the Honda 25cc blower?
Redmax blowers, echo everything else. Currently have 2 srm 225, srm 266 for regular yards, echo 3020t for any heavy stuff. Or if I'm just in a big hurry that day. 😂 sometimes I just don't want to carry it
I'm run almost exclusively Redmax. Echo 8010 blower is lucky to last three years. 2620 trimmer handle is terribly uncomfortable, and is a little on the heavy side. BCZ260 is lighter than the 2620, nicer trigger on the BCZ too.
My first trimmer was an older cub cadet cc2000. It worked well until the head wore out on it (I put a ryobi kombi shaft on the moto, and put a speed feed 400 on it. l still have it and use it every now and again) and then it was time for an Echo. I went with the PAS 2620 with the pro tourque head and put the bigger 20in shield on it, just cant make myself take the shield off! Dad has a 225 that is a nice residential trimmer. I have the curve shaft edger attachment as well, didnt think l needed to spend $60 more on the straightshaft. Should l have based on your experience? I went the kombi route because l could get more tools for less money, while still having the 2620 motor. I agree with you about getting the bigger motor edger. My neighbor has an old 21cc kombi with the edger and that thing doesnt work as good a mine. My first blower was a 9010 echo and l love it. We also won a limited edition 580 that's nice for grass clippings etc. I only do 5ish yards so l dont need dedicated units, but its enough to justify nice tools! When l went to buy my echo trimmer l learned a lot from your vids so thanks!!
I bought my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer last year at Big Blue in Kinston NC I've been using my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer for my second year and I love it for 27cc and the price I paid for my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer was $228 I paid for my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer and my Stihl come with a auto speed feed trimmer head
It is possible to add a cylindrical weed cutter at the front of the lawn mowing vehicles to assist the cutter at the bottom of the vehicles in cutting the long bushes
2620 is heavy the 225 is light 😅 also the best or top is the T version extra torque 2620T is a monster but get u wore out after a few yards lol im a echo fan for sure they need to make a zero turn lbvs but yes sucks i rushed and didnt do a double check walk-around as normal and ran my trimmer over with the trailer and left it luckily it was at my cousins and he messaged me i went back was mangled was about to pitch or sell to the dealer i bought it from my uncle said it may be able to be fixed dropped it off got it fixed never could tell im happy lol
Thank you Laars!
I’m a Stihl guy. We run 131R’s because we do a lot of hillsides and creek banks. 91R is good too though especially if you’re just doing residential yards, but 131 is same weight with more power.
I run km56 R with attachments wich deffently way to go and one less motor to look after
Km131r and it’s got tons of power.
Take the spark arrestor off Stihl also😅
Agreed, first choice is based on service availability.
Lots of good pieces of advice in here for the younger generation! Good job Brian
Been in the lawn care service for 40 plus years. I have used the Redmax, Shindaiwa, Stihl, and Husqvarna. In my opinion the echo string trimmers have less vibration than the others. Your hands tingle less at the end of the day.
I've had the Echo srm-266 for a year now and it still runs perfectly no problems. Lots of power at full throttle too. Best weed eater I ever used.
Y did u quit lawn care
I only have experience with Echo and Stihl. The thing that I've noticed is Stihl products typically are designed to be ran "all or nothing" wide open, full throttle. This is very useful in some applications but not all. Echo from my experience has a bit better throttle variance which I take advantage of especially when running a string trimmer near vulnerable areas like windows etc. This is why I tend to prefer Echo.
I have husqvarna everything and they run great and never left me stranded
Great vid! One thing that I learned is redundancy... have a back up with you. Better 2 mid grade trimmers or blowers than one top of the line of either. A Kombi set is great for this.
Trimmer I run Stihl 94, I always used echo but srm 225 let me down and had to buy a new one each season , so now I love my Stihl.
Echo all the way. That is all I have and they are the best that I have used.
Awesome! What have your experiences with the T235 been? It seems built very well with a solid steel shaft. Has the 21cc engine been enough?
Question. Is one better off to buy an echo at a "dealer" or home depot?
I love it! Thanks for sharing brother!
I run maruyama b30l turbo, and a 145bt husqvarna, it was a freebie, started out with a echo 225 trimmer came with mower package. Gave up on it within a month in my first season
I am a Stihl guy and I love my side start on my blower. I haven't had that many problems with it.
Bro yeah same I’m a Stihl guy also but Echo is a very good brand
I love my SRM-2320T trimmer. Lower cost, all the power you need and very reliable! I also am using my first blower still, A PB2620.
Hi, was wondering what the difference is between the 2320 and the 2320T? Price/cc? Thx much
@Todd Rhine As far as I'm concerned, I think they just changed the gearing ratio to introduce more torque.
We run Echo trimmers, blowers, edger and chainsaws. They always run reliably
I was a die hard Stihl guy. Every single hand held was Stihl. But the weed eaters seemed to go down in quality since the FS90 series died. I made the switch to the 2620T echo and it’s been 4 years now. I Stihl run everything else Stihl 💪
I used everything Stihl and Wright stander for my mower can’t go wrong my opinion when I started out 13 years back echo got me by but Stihl is night and day the way to go 😉
I love almost every brand but Echo is my favorite
Thanks Brian really appreciate the videos.. me personally, im a Echo guy. I run the 225 and the 2620 love them both
Echo makes a straight shaft for the edger attachment btw. And I still have my first Echo 225 trimmer running after 8 years but I would recommend the 266 to start with. Great video Brian!
Cool, I didn’t know that!
Man I haven’t been in the industry for 6 years but I remember as a teen I’ve always wanted the Toto commercial lawn mowers or e max mowers and for weed eaters and leaf blowers either stihl or husqivarna. I started helping my dad out at the age of 8 and stopped at 18 but I’m going to get back into it
To be honest i think the br700 is the best bang for your buck. Its comes with the retractable pipe which is really useful.
Shindaiwa is my favorite.
I like my echo 225’s super cheap and light now I do have a 2620T for heavy jobs I have a ditch trimming job yearly I use the 2520T on
And the 800c is super nice
Running the echo equipment- 2620t trimmers and their blowers, edger, hedge trimmers..all fantastic. Thanks for recommending
Good choice!
Interested in your thoughts on EGO?
Bought a 300+ trimmers, very powerful two speed. The battery is enough for my pasture and cuts through almost almost anything
My only complaint is that the automatic string can really fuck up a line when it decides to shoot out in the middle of a pass it gives no warning except fast vibrations
Yeah it wouldn't recommend especially when trying to be clean as a commercial contractor
The nice parts are the hi low speed and the easy feed which is fine if you have a couple hillbilly acres 😅
The Shindaiwa T262 which is the same as the Echo SRM2620 is a good choice too.
I buy everything in steel and scag I have br600 and 131r combi, trimmer 94r, just bought turf tiger and stand up mower v ride 2 and a lot more
Die hard Echo here blower is like a tornado and the 2620 is rock solid.
Just picked up a echo 225 string trimmer and echo 580 b/t backpack blower so far they have been good so far
We just started business this year and for startup equipment we went with two stihl 700 leaf blowers and two stihl fs 131 weed trimmers. Maybe went too crazy for just starting out 😂
I really appreciate your videos. There is always timely information for my business.
Thank you kindly
Can we get your bros to do a breakdown? I mean, not everyone knows how model #s work, and different versions of the same model.
Ie: 5150 has been around for a while, they probably tweaked it since the first 5150 production runs.
Some people like me, like seeing how a model evolved, and how well they listen to customers who buy it.
You did touch that on the echo one.
We love our Echo SRM 2520, the PB 2620 and PB 9010
echo all the way solid equipment I put it in garage at end of season and during the spring without any maintenance my weed hacker and backpack blower both start on first pull its so satisfying (I do yearly maintenance but still nice to know they start right up after sitting for 5 months)
My shindaiwa trimmer is running strong almost 30 years later with just tune up kits along the way
What I run for my side hustle is:
Echo 2520 handheld blower ( I have. ES 250 as a backup)
Echo SRM 2620 (before my SRM 225 was my mine trimmer, now it’s my backup)
Echo HC 152 hedge trimmers
Honda HRN 170 mower( before my Honda HRR 216 was my mine, now it’s my back up)
I'm a big echo fan, got a kombi 225 with a trimmer and edger attachment.
Echo all the way easy to repair always run no issues change the spark, plug air filter and keep going
Super happy with the Husq 535T trimmer…Echo 9010T blower…and Ferris ISX 3300 for my 11 acre yard!
My first trimmer was Stihl Fs70. Ran echo for awhile now have redmax trimmers. And just got the Husky bt60 blower last fall
Awesome video!! This channel is teaching me alot.
Hey y’all buy Brian’s book! It’s so helpful! Great advice! Awesome content! BUY HIS BOOK!!!
Hey thanks man!
Good stuff!
This was a excellent video.
I thought the comparison between the difference brands were very good.
Keep up the good work.🤗
Thank you! Will do!
I just grabbed a 8560 and put it to work…I have the 8550 and can definitely tell the difference
It’s a beast for sure
Thanks ... currently using Ryobi 4cycyle Trimmer combi attachment with blower hedge trimmer and edger...thinking bout Husqvarna battery, Kobolt 80v, or gas Echo 2620 ... might stick with Echo for a while.
Hands down Echo all the way I love my echo pb9010t
My top 3
Maruyama, Shindawa, Sthil.
I have a John deer 🦌 O turn.
I need something to pick up my grass clippings and dead leaves.
What do you suggest?
Echo 3020 is the best one I got it last year it’s great
Thanks for this video I’m thinking about getting into the lawn care business as well and now after watching your video I know what I want know
Check out our book Zero To $100K on Amazon. We talk about equipment a TON and what to start with! amzn.to/3IyRaog
The top of the line is the Echo SRM-410x. It’s like 42cc
I use echo 2620 trimmer and stihl KM94 kombi with edger attachment
I bought my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer last year at Big Blue in Kinston NC I've been using my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer for my second year and I love it for 27cc and the price I paid for my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer was $228 I paid for my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer and my Stihl come with a auto speed feed trimmer head
Thanks for the advice Brian !
It is possible to add a cylindrical weed cutter at the front of the lawn mowing vehicles to assist the cutter at the bottom of the vehicles in cutting the long bushes
Had a couple 3020s and one 225 - didn’t realize what I was missing by not having some 2620’s. Those 3020’s get heavy by about 2-3 o’clock.
Echo equipment all the way my brand of choice
I run the fs111r I have right now is a husqvarna 150bt works great had it for 3 years now and starts right up but I really want is a br600 & 800x
😊just get the Echo PAS225 with the blower attachment
