Desmond’s my favorite right now because of how much of a normal man he is and his FTE’s show that, despite all of the crazy stuff of his talent, the man is relatively normal. His shark motif had me confused at first, but as I was playing through CHP1, I was seeing the direction his character is going. CHP 1 spoilers from hear on out As a black man, I understand why he keeps his cool and only gets enraged at Tozu’s remarks or at Eva’s reasoning for committing the murder, since expressing rage at some people’s remarks at you could get you into more trouble than if someone else reacted the same way. I don’t think the cast is racist towards Desmond, but it seems his Marksman talent is fulfilling that role here instead, where the cast seems to always be ready to have a negative idea on Desmond’s motives because his talent, at first glance, is very dangerous in a killing game. But Desmond has shown multiple times that he isn’t looking to kill and even offers to help his classmates, yet Eva still believed him to be highly dangerous with his blackmail, despite it stating that he protects the only one he trusts, not kills for the only one he trusts. To be fair Desmond is one of the four people I would not want to get into a fight with among the cast, with the other three being Eloise, Jean, and Ingrid, and I know I can hold my own in a fight pretty well. Among those four though, only Desmond gets the short-end of the stick because of his talent despite Eloise also having a pretty dangerous talent. So what do you do when your classmates accuse/mistrust you? You take it on the chin and keep a calm demeanor to put them at ease and keep suspicion off of your close ones, and his imitation art seems to continue to show that and even him calling himself “A Key” which maybe signify his importance in trials, possibly getting them out of the killing game, or ensuring Eloise’s survival as seen in her imitation art and phrase being “A Hunt” and the fields being similar with the colors being inverted, possibly meaning different POVs (Desmond’s art in Eloise’s POV and Eloise’s being in Desmond’s POV). I really want my man to survive, and I do think he will, but I also want to see him lash out a bit at the other members for their constant suspicions on him, especially if the victim of the case is Eloise since it seems likely she’s the person he want trusts and protects, though it may cause him to murder someone out of rage or possibly even attack Tozu/Mara if Eloise does turn out to be a culprit and gets executed and show off his Shark motif of being perceived dangerous, but is only dangerous when provoked. But if there’s one thing I dislike about Desmond, it’s the damn front part of his hair… I really hope that gets updated because ever since it was pointed out to me, I’ve hated it… maybe it’s hard to draw dreads in the Danganronpa art style… I really like Desmond’s character, and it seems to me that he’ll be quite prominent in the story as Damon tolerates/respects him and his FTEs seem to lead towards a good friendship between the two and he was quite helpful in trial. My king will survive to at least CHP 4, trust me! 🙏🏿 Any further = survivor and thanks will, naturally, be to God. (Source: A vision)
Agree with all of this, but especially the hair thing 😭 a lot of artists on the game will draw him with better looking hair but the actual in game sprites don’t reflect it and it makes me sad, hopefully they can do a minor visual sprite tweak in between chapters 1 and 2 like they did between the prologue and chapter 1.

He looks like he has a slick back comb over in the front and Loc hair extensions in the back, and as a sister loc haver it KILLS ME. Please P:EG team, remaster my glorious king Desmond’s sprits and my life is yours! 😭 Also glad to see people acknowledging the subtle racism allegory going on with him, trying to avoid looking like an “angry/violent black” is a real thing a lot of us have to subconsciously worry about 🙏
@@Heli-draws I struggled to take Ulysses seriously because he reminded me of twilight sparkle but he’s a sweetheart and as for ones I like probably Eloise, Diana and I felt like I could relate with Cassidy but over all they’re all good
3:30:02 Funny, in my playthrough the reverse happened. I tried to go in the room and clicked Ingrid instead. Then I couldn't bear to say no about the printer thing and wound up spending free time w/ her when I didn't originally intend to 😅
Before watching this, my favorite character is Cassidy, with Kai, Grace, Desmond, and Diana also having spots in my top 5. Let's see if the rest of these FTEs will change my rankings!
