This is VIP treatment for TH-cam. I went there and waited 1/2 an hour for small pieces of sushi. Remind you that they have a 2 hour limit. It took sooooo long to get anything that we were so bored😂. Food was decent but the service was slow. All my friends had the same story.
We heard the same from our friends as well. It was the first thing we asked the GM and he assured us that they've worked out the kinks and hired adequate staff 👍 if you ever do go back let us know how it is! We're hoping they've improved since 🙏

Kan Sushi looks awesome, and you did a great job showcasing the menu. 2nd...This place has been on my bucket list. I have not got there yet. One of the things that I learned from you is bring lots of friends don't go by yourself and go for dinner to get the other goodies. I heard that Kan sushi has the same owners of GEN BBQ. Thats why you also get all of the Korean Marinated meats. Yum, very creative Chef and I cannot wait to go there. Mahalo Plenty all!

Yes I went here back to back and sat literally at the table right next to wear you sat. It’s very affordable and the quality is beautiful. Can’t wait to go back! I recommend to anyone who’s staying in Waikiki

I miss Hawaii. Its been 4 years since I've been there. I usually stay 3 weeks and hang out at my friend's cigar shop. I'd move there but I have a dog and 4 Cats which they may not like the humidity. Northern California is hot and dry in the summer but nice the rest of the year. I already lost one of my Cats which I've had for over 15 years. Thats the hardest part of life when a LOVED ONE Passes Away. Life changes for the worse. ❤😢

Just got back from Oahu and went to Kan sushi based on the recommendation. I experienced the same issues. It took so long for the food to come, wait staff were not attentive to us, they forgot to bring us some of our orders, and I think they might have delivered some of our orders to another table. But, what we did get tasted good. I’ll give them that.
I saw this coming from your Live Stream. Just a couple of things. At 10:20 they played APinks Mr. Chu in the background. Any place that plays APink is my favourite already. The other thing is, when you order, do they come in that size portions? Can you get half portions or just a couple of rolls of each?
Isn't that place used to be Todai back in the day? That was the last time i've been there in that area when my family and i went to eat at the AYCE buffet at Todai..😄
Dang, those sushis are so so delicious and way bigger portions than compare to the sushi buffets here in the Twin Cities for about the same prices. I miss the CA sushi buffets, the ones here are kinda sad just not that good, they seem stingy here too. I only go to the ones here about twice a year. If there was a great restaurant like Kan's in my town I'd eat there at least once a month. Thanks for reminding us what we're missing out on....lol

The spread looks amazing , presentation looks phenomenal ! The vastness could be an optical illusion because if one was to plate them up like at a conveyor belt sushi place , it'll probably look "do-able" (lol)
All the food looks delicious. Sushi is sour rice and sashimi is raw sea food. I believe in Hawaii you guys have spam musubi which is based on Japanese sushi. I also like sushi with mango and condensed milk. Eel rolls are one of my favorites.
I grew up around there. Been living overseas for the last 12 years. Now it seems all of the places I remember there are gone, except Wailana Coffee House (thank goodness).
Went there with a buddy of mine a few months after they opened. Took forever for us to get our food. Servers and managers didn't know what they were doing. We left after 2 hours hungry and angry. I will not go back even if their service is better. That's how disrespected and ripped off I feel.
Did you three really eat all that you were served? And still have room for dessert? Or did Kan invite you to try as many things as possible and not have to finish them all? Is there no time limit? What do they do if you donʻt eat everything? Most things looked delish, but I think after one platter of sushi and maybe one or two "starters," Iʻd be done! Thatʻs about all I can eat in one sitting. I love traditional Japanese sushi, but I have to admit that sushi with cheese or other non-Japanese sauces and toppings (like flaming hot Cheetos) does not appeal to me even though Felix says the weird combinations work. But, of course, there are so many other types of food on the menu, you donʻt have to order anything you donʻt care for, If youʻre a big eater or starving, the price seems worth it, especially for lunch (though I love unagi). But maybe $8-$12 or more for parking? It will be interesting to see how the restaurant does without having to change some of the rules or offerings or prices.

have you been to mccully buffet yet? they're korean owned so they got all the good yakiniku meats, but they also have good sushi and sashimi too!!
