I like how you try to see it from Calypso's perspective too. Not a lot of people do that and I find it really deepens the storyline. Really enjoyed the reaction!
@@Michaellearnsart Yes! The happiness she feels from Odysseus' presence is a counter for loneliness and is not necessarily love in a romantic sense, but she doesn't know what love is, so this happy feeling is interpreted as love. She sees companionship as love.
100 years alone. I’d most likely be latching onto to the first person I’ve seen in 100 years the same way. Plus have to remember Calypso from epic and Calypso from original story are different people
Especially during this animatic. Idk why this animator chose to explicitly show Calypso assaulting Odysseus when Jorge has stated multiple times that Calypso doesn't do that in EPIC
Always good seeing people who don't know the story interact with the musical, especially jen And yeah you did hit the nail on the head with Calypso being the only person there, as to why you can see that in not sorry for loving you
Long story short for Calypso’s story. She is a daughter of a Titan and sided with them during the war of Titans vs Olympians. When the Titans lost the Olympians banished her to her island all alone. So basically she is desperate for companionship. In the Odyssey she offers Odysseus immortality if he marries her. Also the line “last I checked Goddesses can’t die”, I’ve seen other channels that know her story speculate that Jorge put that line in to maybe suggest that she tried taking her life at one point. Long story short Calypso formed a toxic trait to try and trap men on her island so she won’t be alone anymore.
Something that breaks my heart so much in the last part of this song, is that, we see an Odysseus totally different from the one presented to us. He has always known how to keep things in control, be at bay, have solutions efficiently and quickly, face everything with determination, etc. However, we see his most vulnerable side possible, one that is desperate to such an extent, from what I interpret, as if he comes to pray to heaven as long as they save him from his misery💔
Hmm, I dunno... It diverges the most from the canon with the ending, and although I do love it (it's probably my favourite), it is kind of a bad idea for first watch
@@ShabnaFarooque There's no "bad" idea for a first watch, because practically every animatic diverges from the "canon" animatics. Especially these last few Sagas where there's been more and more canon animatics that leave less up to interpterion like earlier Sagas. Imo it's the best one to watch first because it's the only one I've seen where each encounter is like a video game boss, which is what Jay said he really envisioned for the song.
yeah Calypso has been ENTIRELY alone, for a century. She was sent to the island as punishment herself by Zeus for siding with the Titans, so until Ody she has never had another person to share that island with. Zeus' power keeps Calypso there, and Calypso's attachment keeps Ody there
Spoilers (kinda?) Why is it a problem for people to not like Calypso here? Is she as bad as her book equivalent? God no. But she still holds someone against their will, basically mocks them with the fact that they can6di anything about it, while she doesn't physically harrass them she does absolutely verbally (telling someone you and them are gonna be together after they've repeatedly told you to stop is harassment), and her apology? Yeah, no, for the people saying that Odysseus didn't apologize to Poseidon right (he didn't), Calypso’s is worse. No one needs to go to the source material to not like her imo and clearly this isn't a unanimous thing, since Circe is wildly loved here and Epic and she does a similar thing in the Odyssey. Case in Point: I love Circe here, not in the Odyssey but I don't like Calyso in either (except her voice, gorgeous vocals, Jorge always chooses the best)
I agree with you -- the issue I have is when people shut down others for feeling any sympathy for Calypso. Imo, you can feel sympathy for a person while still acknowledging what they've done is abhorrent and inexcusable. (Spoilers for the Vengeance Saga) I'm Not Sorry for Loving You is a heartbreaking song and I feel terrible for Calypso's situation; it's also a bad apology. I personally read Epic's Calypso as not being intentionally malicious, she earnestly believes she loves Odysseus. At the same time, her words come across as manipulative (putting the onus on Odysseus for not loving her). I read this more as an unconcious, warped reasoning rather than something actually sinister. TLDR: What Calypso did is categorically wrong, AND I find her character nuanced and sympathetic. Both are true.
@@StrudelHalfBaked Oh absolutely, I think she has no malicious intent in her bones on epic, she clearly truly loves him. On the flip side, part of loving someone is knowing when to let them go, which she ultimately never learns and doesn't fully see what's wrong with her actions. I'll never fault someone for feeling sympathetic for her, but I don't like how so many people think that others aren't allowed to dislike her. I think sympathetic characters can still be dislikable whether you sympathize with them or not, yk?
@@StrudelHalfBakedshe doesnt have malicious intent because she shes not human, she doesnt see what she is doing is wrong and it is wrong, Not sorry for loving you was extremely triggering when i heard it for the first time, as someone that was in an abusive situation for 6 years the stuff she was saying was words i heard over and over again in attempts to guilt trip and gaslight and manipulate me for feeling bad for even thinking of leaving, it felt like she was saying it was his fault for her loving him and its his fault for this situation and that hes the bad guy for making her feel this way and that how could such and innocent love not be enough for him, that plus knowing what she did to him every night for seven years I couldnt forgive her
@@evelynolea4433 I do agree with most of what you said but i do want to point out that "what she did to him every night for seven years" probably only happened in the Odessy, not in Epic. Epic is not a 1 to 1 replica, it has many changes from the original story. I do not belive Jorge kept that part of the story for Epic, especialy since it's never stated she did that to him. We shouldn't assume something is canon to Epic unless it's a part of the songs or said by Jorge himself. It's only stated she want's to sleep with him, not that she actualy did. Ofcourse she is still Toxic AF, but not as bad as in the original story.
@anannanas8118i agree to a point, but jorge wrote the song with that ending. If Odysseus was treated well and healing, he wouldn't have responded the way he did to the point of unaliving attempts. He's been starved, stabbed, betrayed, and of course dealt his own stuff back throughout the course of epic. He's already struggling with ptsd (seeing nightmares every night and some other symptoms). I need to know if she let up on the harassment throughout the 7 years in epic or not. In the odessey, she is worse and even in the best translation constantly harassed him. That would be a huge contributor to his mental state at the end of the song. I liked that the animatic addressed it because they didn't address it on behalf of epic canon. It was for us. It felt so validating to hear those phrases and words that are so triggering and be reminded that we aren't crazy through the visuals. It did bother me that Jorge was fine with alluding to sa with Penelope and the suitors and Zeus (he's just a horrible god) but for some reason circe and calypso have been absolved and aren't as accurate to the original. Obviously it's an artistic choice, and i still love the music and storytelling and Easter eggs 😊
16:04 yeah she is cursed to never leave by Zeus because of i believe her father and oddy is the only person that has entered the prison because that's what the island is. a really big and beautiful jail cell.
If you haven't yet decided on which animatic you'll use for your "God Games" reaction I highly recommend the one "Neal Illustrator" made! It's one of my favorite interpretations so far.
I honestly love Calypso. She's incredibly manipulative out of a desperate loneliness, saying anything she knows will tug at Ody's heart in attempts to pull him back to her, to make him stay. On some level she knows she's wrong, too.
So, as people have already said, Calypso said some stuff in her attempt to get Ody away from the ledge of the cliff that ultimately ended up making his breakdown worse. I see a lot of people say she did that on purpose though, which I think is pretty stupid take, ngl. Odysseus himself says she has no idea what he's been through. So that means that all throughout those 7 years he's been on the island he's never told her of his travels and tribulations. All she has to go on are the things he says in his sleep. The first of which, mind you, had to do with his wife whom he loves, cherishes, and clearly uses as a source of inner strength. So obviously, she's going to assume the others are similar. Funnily enough, at literally any other point in his journey she'd probably be right. Point is, I see a lot of people just assuming she's more malicious than she actually is. She is doing something bad, but she's doing bad things like a kid does. She's too naive and inexperienced to really understand that what she's doing is wrong, or at least the depths to which it's wrong. And that's all not even considering what her own psychological state is like after being more or less trapped on an island for centuries at the very least. Whether she stays willingly or not kinda changes depending on what versions of the story you read, but regardless, Jorge has long since proven that his renditions of the gods are more human character-wise than their original selves. So it wouldn't be outlandish for her to have suffered some of the same effects as most humans do in extended periods of isolation and solitary.
She word for word quotes three unrelated phrases from different loved ones of Ody's. Maybe an argument can be made that she wasn't malicious, but she definitely can't be compared to the naivety of a kid. She is a god who's like several times older than Ody. My personal canon is that she heard him talk in his sleep and then tried to use what she heard to manipulate him off the edge. She wasn't trying to hurt him, but she WAS trying to control him.
@drakemckisson2428 ... Yes...? What's your point? That's naturally what you're doing when trying to talk someone down from suicide. Also, I said she had the naivety of a kid, not that she's stupid. Kids know how to get what they want. A lot of them are really good at pattern recognition because they're still learning. So since Ody presented the pattern of talking in his sleep about his loved ones then obviously she's gonna make the assumption that those are all happy memories. She's been locked away on an island paradise her whole life dreaming of having people she can love like he does, so obviously she's not gonna think there's any negative feelings that could be tied to them. Like I said, she has the naivety of a child, and most children can't fathom the idea of love hurting or not loving family and what not. So she hears him say these lines and these phrases and they're supposedly attached to those he loves, and here he is at his lowest point contemplating suicide, so of course shed fall back on that pattern. Remind him of his loved ones and hope it's enough to ground him. And I mean... Shit, it works. Can't much argue with results even if they were gotten in accidentally painful ways.
If you haven't already recorded your Vengeance saga reactions, I totally recommend "Dangerous" from Orange! It's my favorite Epic animatic. Love your reactions, Jen!
Another one is: “No one can come or go. My island stays unknown.” A goddess that chooses to stay on an island alone, yet is completely social enough to kindly welcome a stranger rather than coldly trying to turn them away from her lonely island? A lot take Calypso at face value without questioning just what she says in her song and how reliable as a source. Granted, she is the only source, but picking apart discrepancies in her personality versus her story very easily tells a deeper story of she is not in her right mind and is desperate for any sort of company to keep.
@@fishnewt1331 in relation to how she responded. Welcoming a stranger whom she fell in love with. And believed would be her salvation. Yea she was pretty welcoming
Calypso actually says a line from polites, odys mum and eurylocus, she calls him ody like eurylocus, says the open arms for polites and says he’ll stay inside his heart which is what the mum says in the underworld
The artists that make every animatic are extremely talented and i love seeingt the various styles. That being said though, I will say this particular animatic doesnt fit the portrayal of Calypso for Epic the musical. Its important to remember that though the musical is based off The Odyssey. There are a lot of creative liberties that purposely tell the story differently. This particular animaric is more catered to the darker side of the actual Odyssey story
Yes, that's the trap people fall into when it comes to Calypso. They tend to focus on the tragedy of the orginal, which in my opinion downplays the story Jorge is trying to tell
I actually disagree with this, I don’t believe Jorge has ever said that Calypso did not do the things this animatic shows, if he did then I apologize for being uninformed, but while Calypso in Epic is wildly more sympathetic and understandable she still does awful and horrific things to Odysseus. Both can be true at once, and I believe that erasing a characters terrible actions because they are sympathetic does a disservice to the storytelling. Calypso is an incredibly complicated and layered character, and it absolutely makes sense to feel sympathetic to her situation, but at the end of the day she still very clearly forces herself on Odysseus and pays no attention to his feelings. I’d say this animatic does a pretty good job of showing that while also making it clear that she genuinely cares about him in her own slightly twisted way.
Calypso was banished to that island to be forever alone because her Father Atlas sided against Zeus during the War, so Calypso seeing this guy showing up out of nowhere really is like Olympus throwing her a bone. Also, a lot of people draw attention to her remarks of "Nobody comes or goes." and "Last I cheep goddesses can't die" to say that out of loneliness she attempted to test that preconception herself. I don't know how I personally feel on the idea, but it definitely makes the situation for her much sadder.
Odysseus has been trapped, told he'll never get back to his wife - which is the entire reason he sacrificed all of his friends for - while being raped for the past seven years. I'd say the man has some legitimate reasons to be contemplating ending it all. This is probably the darkest the musical really gets.
When you react to God Games you’ve gotta watch Neal Illustrators version. The designs of the gods are all amazing, she actually made them feel larger than life and godly and match their voices really well (something I think you missed out with Thunder Bringer. No hate to the animator you reacted to for Thunder Bringer but I just don’t think their design really matched the vibe of Zeus or the voice actors voice), she made the Olympians actually feel like an immortal family, and the way she did the ending like changed the way I saw the song/story. It’s heartbreaking in a good way lmao, highly recommend
Girl you’re stronger than me 😭 I heard this song for the first time and burst into tears when I got hit with Polites, Eurylochus, and his mom overlapping at the end
Just because I haven’t seen anyone say anything about but in one Greek Myth Penelope yes Odysseus’ wife while he is gone (I think, as far as I know it never specifies) is the mother of Pan who is one of Hermes’ kids and I believe the father of satyrs and where we get the word panic from
To quote some of the commenters during the live-stream primer of this saga.. Calypso: Ody, come away from the ledge! Poseidon, in the water: Do a flip!
Calypso was banished to that island centuries ago for her father's role in the titanomachy (when the titans who existed first fought the newer Olympian gods, her father is a titan) and yes, Odysseus is literally the first other person she's seen in literal centuries and more than likely the first human. I think an important thing is here is that she's never escaped. She isn't holding Odysseus captive, they're just both prisoners sharing the same prison cell. It's gonna be stated explicitly in the next song but yeah, someone else is imprisoning both.
Calypso was banished to live in exile on the island of Ogygia by Zeus after the Olympians defeated the Titans. Calypso had supported and assisted the Titans during their war with the Olympian gods. I assume that she thinking ody is her man is basically because she thought she was forgiven by the Gods and thought Ody was like, a "gift"
I’m so exited to see you react to god games! It was the first full song I had ever heard from this. I was shocked at the quality, but didn’t know where it came from. Then I found the rest. It’s amazing, and will always be my first favorite.
Calypso is the daughter of Atlas (some accounts say Oceanus and Tethys), her name means 'She Who Conseals'. In Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus remains faithful for the seven years, other Greek poets claim that Odyssey has one to three kids with her before leaving. Remember in Greek Mythology, nothing is canon, and everything is fan-fiction
So a little background on Calypso (and apologies bc this is kinda long, and also TW for mentions of SA): She is a minor goddess, and the daughter of the Titan General Atlas, who was cursed to hold up the world following the Titans' defeat in the war with the gods. Calypso sided with her father in the war (she was very young at the time) and as a punishment she was banished to Ogygia (her island) which is enchanted so that no one can find it. But every so often someone will wash ashore-Odysseus is one of, if not the very first one to do so-and she is cursed by Zeus to fall in love with them instantly, but they will never return her feelings. So she's been all alone for hundreds of years, and now is instantly in love with the first guy she's ever really met. And while her tragic backstory does deserve sympathy and makes her actions understandable, she still chose to use her magic to keep him trapped for seven years, and in the Odyssey also uses her magic to force him into bed with her at night. Jorge intentionally left that part kind of ambiguous in Epic, so it's up for interpretation, but in the original work it speaks of them going to bed at night, and I believe the exact wording is something like "one unwilling, one all too willing." So, a very complex character and complicated situation for sure. I'm so glad to see you examine things from both perspectives here. On a lighter note, Barbra Wangui's vocals for Calypso give me life and she deserves all the praise for her performance!
Fun facts :D Calypso is actually cursed to live in total isolation on her island by the gods because she both supported and is the child of the Titans (parents: Oceanus and Tethys).
Out of all the Love In Paradise animatics, this one is an.... interesting choice! It's not bad, and maybe im a little biased because im not particularly fond of the art style, but Ximena's and Mikuchi's (I'm so sorry if I spelled that wrong) are better at capturing everything, especially Calypso's playful, yet controlling nature, and Odysseus' emotions/reactions to everything, and just the overall vibe Jorge was going for with this song, in my opinion. Regardless, I look forward to this reaction 😊
This rendition of Calypso is forward, even pushy, but never to the point of simply overpowering him, and frankly I don't much hold it against her. She has been trapped on that island for ages and is STARVING for any kind of connection. Doesn't make it right, but I'd probably get pretty weird too after a few centuries alone.
I just realized you could change very little of the Just a Man chorus to make it make sense with “I’m not your man” I’m not your man, I’m trying to go home, Even after all the years away from what I’ve known! I’m not your man, I’m fighting for my life, Deep down I would trade world to see my son and wife! I’m not your man
Calypso was in fact always alone on this isle, and knew no one, except Hermes who would come to mock or prank her cause she could not leave her isle and it's Hermes of course he would do that. (if my memory is right). If I'm wrong people can correct me with good manner of course.
i always assumed it was because he was feeling guilt about the people who died specifically, and feeling and thinking of rejoining them he’s at his darkest moment mentally, so maybe he can’t bear to hope for his wife who still lives
This is late, but basically Calypso was the daughter of a titan and during the titan-god war where the gods eventually won, she sided with the titans. As a result, her punishment was that she was cast away to an island, a beautiful island where she would remain alone forever except for when certain men would wash up on her shores. The men would be heroes that she can't help but fall in love with, however, they have their own loves and always leave her alone in the end. Her story was always one of the sadder ones in the myths.
Zeus never said Ody would make it back to his family. All he ever said was they needed to be punished and Ody had the choice between himself or his crew being killed then and there. Ody made his decision because the only way he had a chance to get home and see his family is if he stayed alive, but its not a guarantee that it will happen
The most upbeat, playful and fun (on a rewatch) song in the Thunder Saga? Why Suffering of course The most depressing, emotions inducing, hard-to-listen-to-at-times song in the Wisdom saga? Why Love in Paradise of course What's more, given the themes the titles almost could have just been reversed. 'Penelope' is promising Love in Paradise and this song is all about recapping Ody's Suffering
The animatic is my second favorite one, but my first is: th-cam.com/video/Z-BmDEx5rNU/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUZbG92ZSBpbiBwYXJhZGlzZSBhbmltYXRpYw%3D%3D for anyone that wants it, the art is genuinely so good and leans more into how they'd appear in Homer's Odyssey
So despite the horribly upsetting multi layer toxic manipulation from our girl Calypso there is yet another layer of tragedy. Calypso is also cursed to fall in love with whoever washes up on her shore by the very gods that banished her to the island. So while her actions are indefensible she is just as much a prisoner of circumstance as Odysseus. Also to answer your question, no, there is literally no one else on the island besides the two of them.
Jorge’s Calypso feels more… innocent isn’t the right word. But is definitely a more caring character. Homer’s Calypso was awful, even if you consider her curse to fall for whomever.

I like how you try to see it from Calypso's perspective too. Not a lot of people do that and I find it really deepens the storyline. Really enjoyed the reaction!
I agree..she doesn't understand she's overcome by the emotions of finally having someone else with her
@@Michaellearnsart especially when you take into consideration she had been wishing for someone, anyone to appear
Always good seeing people who don't know the story interact with the musical, especially jen
And yeah you did hit the nail on the head with Calypso being the only person there, as to why you can see that in not sorry for loving you
Long story short for Calypso’s story.
This song is one of my favorites. The emotion in Jorge's voice at the end always gets me.
Also. Zues never said he'd see his family or Ithaca. Just that he'd get to live, just so happens he put him on an island that is Calypso's prison. Lol
I hope she does Neal Illustrator for God Games! His animatic is truly one of the most dynamic and engaging
same!! just so you know, Neal Illustrator is a girl, her name is Leann
Hmm, I dunno... It diverges the most from the canon with the ending, and although I do love it (it's probably my favourite), it is kind of a bad idea for first watch
@@ShabnaFarooque I agree with you 1000% AnniFlamma is probably a better animatic canonically.
Zeus' power keeps Calypso there, and Calypso's attachment keeps Ody there
Spoilers (kinda?)
Why is it a problem for people to not like Calypso here?
(Spoilers for the Vengeance Saga)
I'm Not Sorry for Loving You is a heartbreaking song and I feel terrible for Calypso's situation; it's also a bad apology.
Waitinggggggg when this video premieres ill be waitingggggggggg
😂😂😂😂
THERE WAS A PENELOPE MOTIF RIGHT AFTER POLITES FLASHBACK AND I DIDNT REALIZE THAT FOR A LONG TIME (I REALIZED IT BECAUSE OF MY SIS A FEW WEEKS AGO)
I love that one too however, she already made the video on patreon, and AnniFlama is more canonically correct, Athena dies.
@@TheLivingProphetJ Except afaik it's literally never been said by Jay that she 100% died and wasn't just badly injured.
I honestly love Calypso. She's incredibly manipulative out of a desperate loneliness, saying anything she knows will tug at Ody's heart in attempts to pull him back to her, to make him stay. On some level she knows she's wrong, too.
11:22 same thing you can see in suffering between odysseus and sirenope!!! And theres a lot of that in the song
i love how Jorge who play Odysseus got his mom to sing as Odysseus mom
Clypso has been alone for a LOOOOONG time, the most telling line is Last i checked goddesses cant die, shes the only one there sooo yeah
Another one is:
“No one can come or go. My island stays unknown.”
A goddess that chooses to stay on an island alone, yet is completely social enough to kindly welcome a stranger rather than coldly trying to turn them away from her lonely island? A lot take Calypso at face value without questioning just what she says in her song and how reliable as a source. Granted, she is the only source, but picking apart discrepancies in her personality versus her story very easily tells a deeper story of she is not in her right mind and is desperate for any sort of company to keep.
@@fishnewt1331 in relation to how she responded. Welcoming a stranger whom she fell in love with. And believed would be her salvation. Yea she was pretty welcoming
@@fishnewt1331she was banished to that island for taking the side of the Titans.

Calypso actually says a line from polites, odys mum and eurylocus, she calls him ody like eurylocus, says the open arms for polites and says he’ll stay inside his heart which is what the mum says in the underworld
I will never be able to listen to the second part of this song and not start crying. Ody is just so broken hhhhhhhhhh >__
Oh boy, she's going to love the Vengeance Saga. Very much excited to see her reactions in all of those songs.
God Games promisses a lot too!
Ithaca saga gets pretty dark too
@@sam_the_hunter486 True, though when I made this comment the Ithaca saga hadn't been out yet lol
One of my favorite songs in the musical, with the next one being an even more favorite one.
Your questions for calypso will be answered in te vengeance saga

My favorite song! Little wolf in paradise!
IT'S ALMOST TIIIIIIIMMMME

Finally someone with sense wondering about Calypso! 💕 loved the reaction Jen!
Just because I haven’t seen anyone say anything about but in one Greek Myth Penelope yes Odysseus’ wife while he is gone (I think, as far as I know it never specifies) is the mother of Pan who is one of Hermes’ kids and I believe the father of satyrs and where we get the word panic from
Best love in paradise animatic fr!
Frr
fun fact! with the way the voices overlap while eurylochus is singing luck runs out, it lines up so it says "you rely on- ATHENA!"
I cannot wait for your reaction to the next song of the set!
I cannot wait for God Games. Very much looking forward to it.
Calypso name means "the one that hides"
I’m so exited to see you react to god games! It was the first full song I had ever heard from this. I was shocked at the quality, but didn’t know where it came from. Then I found the rest. It’s amazing, and will always be my first favorite.
siempre agradecido de poder ver estos videos son increibles
A reunion lol, if only it was that simple
Calypso is the daughter of Atlas (some accounts say Oceanus and Tethys), her name means 'She Who Conseals'. In Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus remains faithful for the seven years, other Greek poets claim that Odyssey has one to three kids with her before leaving.
Remember in Greek Mythology, nothing is canon, and everything is fan-fiction
great video and commentary
Tbh the wa Calypso is painted in this musical changes entirely based on which Animatic you watch
Thx for the reaction
Fun facts :D
Calypso is actually cursed to live in total isolation on her island by the gods because she both supported and is the child of the Titans (parents: Oceanus and Tethys).
Oh please (!) watch Neal Illustrator’s God Games (yes, ive said this before ik) It really is THAT good!
Fun fact: on all those songs Athena goes through, you can hear her piano them.
Time to add one more song to Jen's cry count lol
I just realized you could change very little of the Just a Man chorus to make it make sense with “I’m not your man”
I’m not your man, I’m trying to go home,
Even after all the years away from what I’ve known!
I’m not your man, I’m fighting for my life,
Deep down I would trade world to see my son and wife!
I’m not your man
Hoping for Neal Illustrator’s God Games
Calypso was in fact always alone on this isle, and knew no one, except Hermes who would come to mock or prank her cause she could not leave her isle and it's Hermes of course he would do that. (if my memory is right).
If I'm wrong people can correct me with good manner of course.
Fun fact/theory: you don't hear Penelope along. Poletis. The mom and the crew. Because odyseus is forgetting how his wife sound and look like. 16:29
i always assumed it was because he was feeling guilt about the people who died specifically, and feeling and thinking of rejoining them
he’s at his darkest moment mentally, so maybe he can’t bear to hope for his wife who still lives
@jacobcollins7661 that as well but by all voices, Penelope is nowhere to be heard. which makes it also very very sad
@ for sure, it’s a super somber detail!
My toxic trait is I would’ve given up and folded. I know live on an island and fear the water.
For God games I would like to suggest Neal illustrator’s version
You’ll find out calypso backstory in the vengeance saga
When you get to the next saga you should watch BrittPowwPixel animatic for Not Sorry for loving you
Idk If anyone told you this yet, but Odysseus mom's is sang by Jorge's mom, what makes the whole thing just more sad 😭
He calls for Elpenor in the end
Not really but you can choose what to hear xd
I thought that she was going to keep up with duvetbox animation :(
To be honest I prefer a different animatic since this one doesn’t show much emotion but I’m glad you finally made it to the end of the Wisdom Saga
The most upbeat, playful and fun (on a rewatch) song in the Thunder Saga? Why Suffering of course
The most depressing, emotions inducing, hard-to-listen-to-at-times song in the Wisdom saga? Why Love in Paradise of course
What's more, given the themes the titles almost could have just been reversed. 'Penelope' is promising Love in Paradise and this song is all about recapping Ody's Suffering
Please watch Jorge’s stream of God games! It shows animations by artists he handpicked and it’s so good! 💕
I am SOOOOOO excited for God Games omg
I hope you react to Neal’s version of God Games.

This song is and your reaction is amazing ❤❤❤❤.
Btw can you react to Melanie Martinez
So despite the horribly upsetting multi layer toxic manipulation from our girl Calypso there is yet another layer of tragedy. Calypso is also cursed to fall in love with whoever washes up on her shore by the very gods that banished her to the island. So while her actions are indefensible she is just as much a prisoner of circumstance as Odysseus. Also to answer your question, no, there is literally no one else on the island besides the two of them.
Odysseus the wife guy stays winning.
