Ash using a mix of older and newer catches is great because
1. The older mons can reach their potential and contribute more to the story
2. The older mons can help the newer mons in regards to training and practice
3. It helps Ash’s strategies to evolve and become more versatile
Also maybe then they’ll evolve haha
I’m glad that his old Pokémon do more than just making battles easier, such as Bayleef’s jealousy giving Treecko an opportunity to grow stronger too.
Starting off with Ho-oh is actually an awesome creative decision

This is a good start, especially considering how much I really didn't like how Ash would always reset his teams at the beginning of each region
Ash using his old pokemon from Hoenn Region onwards is always a pretty cool concept to see as a what if, but happy he's still catching new Pokemon, too, like Treecko. 🙂 Although sad that May and Max aren't coming along, and Ash missed catching Taillow here. 🫤 I'm hoping after seen Treecko struggle to breaking the rock this lead either: Brock suggesting to Ash or Ash thinking about teaching his pokemon a new move so they're not in that situation like maybe Pikachu and Treecko learn Iron Tail together which could push Bayleef into learning a new move too because of her one-sided rivalry with Treecko. Anyways another really start to this series, and will check out the next part.

oh so he's getting like when he started jotho I would love to see ash use his older mons more heck many could get stronger and heck some evolve I hope ash uses totodile and bayleaf they need to evolve this is so exciting to see

Since Pikachu didn't learn Iron Tail, maybe battling (and losing to keep Ash from getting a big head) Brawly will have Ash decide Pikachu can learn a different move like say Brick Break or Return.
Maybe Treecko will learn Iron Tail instead.
I'm curious if you plan on having Ash catch different Pokémon from canon since he missed out on Treecko.
And I'm wondering if it'll just be Ash and Brock or when Misty shows up for the Mirage Kingdom two-parter, she'll decide to stay in Hoenn and catch some Water-Types from the region.
Haven't watched anything yet but saw Primeape and Immeadietly clicked

Interesting story so far. Cool to see older pokemon get used, it really changes a lot. So does this mean that may will not be featured? Unfortunately i do not have patrean so will have to wait.

Removing May is just a massive downgrade to the overall story of Hoenn, the Advanced series was just as much her story as it was Ash’s and I just can’t see any reason why you would remove her.
