I would love for you to assemble Ceaco's Platinum Princess (Disney - princesses and their castles, 1000 pieces). What a beautiful image! I find it especially touching that your husband, who was out on his own shopping at Target at a different time, took his time to look at the puzzles, see this Disney puzzle that he thought you might enjoy, ask you about it, and bought it for you. Your husband is most thoughtful and kind, Mandy.
He's funny. Every time I'm on a shopping freeze, he'll send me a picture of something he's seen while peeking at the puzzle aisle somewhere. He knows how much they make me happy 🥰
When I first saw the selection, I nodded and thought that seemed like a fair selection, then I had to laugh when you complained about it. That is fairly typical for target in my experience. Sometimes the selection at my store looks worse- very empty and picked over. I like to go see what they have every couple months even if I don’t buy anything. For prices you can use the scanners they have on some of their aisles. I can’t bring myself to buy many 300 piece puzzles because the prices are too similar to the 500s and 1000s, within each brand. I like to feel like I’m getting my money’s worth 🤷♀️
I could remember not too long ago that the Targets around me had a much bigger and better selection. It just seems to get smaller and smaller every time I look 🤷 I also struggle to buy anything less than 500pieces, but I've found it interesting comparing the different experiences/quality with different pieces counts. But other than that, I'd rather get more puzzle time for my money.
You need to start with the Pomegranate, since you haven't done one yet. They have a lot of wonderful, unique artwork. I have done some wonderful puzzles from that brand.
I vote for the Dowdle camping puzzle. I did this one in the 1000-piece size and for some reason, the boy with the watermelon gave me SO MANY HEADACHES!!!! I enjoy these very busy puzzles from Dowdle except for a Halloween puzzle - too many pumpkins!! Also, my very favorite puzzles are from Jumbo by the artist Jan van Halsteren. I haven't seen anyone on YT do one and would love to see how I would compare to the speed puzzlers! Did you ever get anything to eat?!?!?!!
I wish I could've gotten the same image in the 1K, so much more puzzle time! I just looked up the Jumbo puzzles and that artist, and they look like so much fun. I finally did get something to eat after I left Target. Got an overly expensive half sandwich half salad "deal" at Panera Bread next door, but it was very tasty 🤤
Always fun to shop with Mandy ! ...I 'm happy Target could squeeze one of mine in amongst the hundreds of Kinkade and Dowdles! Those guys are great, but can you leave some space for the little guy? 🙄. Anyway, you were very thorough, because mine was the last one you picked up ("Collector's Collection"). If you do go back for #10, give it a second look.
Great puzzle haul video Mandy. I went to Target recently and I purchased all 3 Wild Wilderness jigsaw puzzles. The quality is pretty good for $3 per piece. I got 1 hinkler puzzle, the first one you picked up, with all the women. I enjoyed seeing you find new houses on your puzzles😊🧩
Oh I can't help but find new houses to spend my weekends in😂 Nice! I was tempted to pick up all the Wilderness puzzles too, but I wanted to experience the quality first. I've actually started working on both those puzzles and I'm hoping to get a video released for it in the next few weeks. So far, it's been quite an interesting experience.
Hinkler do some nice images, I’ve not done one yet so can’t comment on quality, but I’ve an alert on eBay for the mushroom one. 🤣 I’ve done Chattanooga by Dowdle, really enjoyed it. It is probably the busiest puzzle I’ve done. I love that Frederick cat/book one, how fun. Your hubby knows you well, what a lovely puzzle. 😁
I'm actually working on those Hinkler puzzles now. I was super curious about the quality, so hopefully I can get that video finished before I leave the country. I can't wait to work on my Dowdle. His artwork is so fantastic even though they are really busy. But I feel like it makes the images so fun to look at. Hubby knows a good Disney puzzle when he sees one 🥰
I loved this video. You’re very entertaining. I am curious to find out the difference between a Dowdle image in the Dowdle brand compared to the Dowdle image in the Buffalo brand. I find that Buffalo tends to have a better fit compared to a ‘crumbly’ Dowdle fit. (IMHO)
Yes, I plan to do this comparison! It's been ages since I worked on my Dowdle branded puzzle, but I'm pretty sure I remember also dealing with crumbs. Happy you enjoyed the video!
Yes, he surely knows me too well (he better after 20 years🤣)! This is one of a few Disney Silver Select images that I have now, and it's made it super difficult to figure out which one I should work on first. But it's coming!
Great haul video Mandy! Thank you for sharing your wonderful finds! I would like to see you do the Dowdle - Camping Adventure. I think the pieces are better in the Buffalo Dowdle vs reg Dowdle, but I still enjoy all his images!! 🙂🙂
Happy you enjoyed the shopping trip! I'm really looking forward to working on my Dowdle puzzle and seeing how it compares to the regular Dowdles. I've only ever completed one, but I'll certainly need to revisit again to refresh my memory.
The Target in my area is slightly more organized in puzzle aisle. The English Breakfast puzzle you looked at is one I'm working on now. Beware! Makes me really hungry. Great video! Enjoy your Disney Princess puzzle experience. Your hubby picked out a special one for you.
I'm glad to hear that there is a Target out there that maintains their puzzle aisle 😂 I wish more did the same. Ooo I'm getting hungry just reading the name of your puzzle LOL I'll be having a proper English breakfast when I head to the UK next month! Been years since I had one 🤤 I'll certainly enjoy my Disney hubby puzzle 🥰
The Target I go to (Chicago suburbs) looks just like yours. They had a nice Dowdle selection. I like your choices and would love to see you put together the Dowdle camping puzzle!
Loved that you can get puzzles at the supermarket. I don't know if I wanted to have it here. The store is in the same street as my favorite department store to buy puzzles, and on every trip I go for groceries, I end up looking at puzzles.
It's great having these one stop shops. I'm even finding more and more grocery stores carrying puzzles in their small toy aisles. But when I think about it, it makes it harder to stay within budget when you're only going to shop for food 😅
@thepuzzledmandy I stay in budget, I actually graduated in accounting so it helps. I just like to look at what they have. Most of the time, I don't buy anything
Actually working on those puzzles right now! I couldn't wait to see what they were like. Hoping to get the video finished before I leave for my trip in the next few weeks.
Another fantastic video and haul, as per usual! I love how thoughtful the puzzled hubby is :3 that was very kind of him to think of you! I am excited for the comparison of size series--that is such a fun and interesting concept! The one I am most looking forward to, however, is the Pomegranate sets for sure. I only have two sets from them, one of them being the Quest for Knowledge hehe. I loved the feel of the pieces and it was just challenging enough. I am super intrigued in that brand but hesitant to invest much more just based off one experience. Another brand I would like to see comparison on is Ravensburger small piece counts--regular vs large piece! I know you don't currently own many Ravensburger sets but they are one of my favorites and I am curious to hear your overall thoughts and opinions on them. As always, stay awesome and happy puzzling!
Hubby knows what makes me happy 🥰 He always checking out the puzzles wherever he goes. I'm looking forward to working on the Pomegranate sets too. I've done a few size comparison videos with different brands, but it's been awhile. Those videos tend to take me the longest to work on, but I find the "investigating" so fun and interesting. I'll definitely look into doing one for Ravensburger though! I'll have to pick up some of the smaller piece counts. Thank you!
I initially thought those 1st 3 were Pringle's puzzles due to the round packaging lol It's nearly 6am here and you mention waffles? Mandy! I now may have to go to Maccas and get some hotcakes lol Camping Adventures looks awesome 🙂 Those cottage puzzles are also really pretty. I am guessing your property count is closer to 100 now rather than the 50 you mentioned in your last video hehehe I just ordered the Camping Adventures jigsaw and I'm paying re AU$30 so about US$20.......double what you paid....so not fair hehehe Target closed down in Australia and just last week found out most of Dominos Pizza has as well, and someone else told me the same with Pizza Hut.
Darnit, now I want hotcakes and waffles! Yes, my property count just keeps growing! I have not idea how many I have at this point. I don't know what I'm more sad about hearing, the fact that you paid double for that puzzles, or that the Dominos and Pizza Huts are closing down in Australia 😔

Hi Mandy, I love your shopping trips!! I'm going to Target right now and check out those 3 dollar puzzles. Have you ever done a jigsaw that has letters on back? You make piles of the letters and put it together according to the letter. They are great to do!!
Hope you find those $3 puzzles. I was surprised I had never noticed them before. I've never done a puzzle with the letters on the back, but I have seen them before. I always felt like I would focus too much on the letters instead of piecing it by the image, but it something I should try at some point.
During the pandemic lockdown when puzzles were selling out all over, Amazon got a bunch of those puzzles with what I call the "cheater back." They were mostly from China and many of them were images of fine art paintings. I loved them. Many of the paintings are dark and have a monochrome background, so the cheater back was really helpful. There were two companies, both Chinese names. One was good, and one was poor quality. Amazon seems to have stopped selling them. I was wondering if there was a copyright issue.
