I've had steaks from steakhouses, local, high-quality butchers and farms - all top notch steaks. So we just cooked some Walmart ribeyes. Delicious. Just the right amount of grizzle and some of the most tender steaks we've had, regardless of price.
Man I never had a bad steak in my life. I literally get $5 steak from Walmart and it’s always so damn good. I had $50 and it’s definitely even better. Can’t knock cheap steak though. Many ppl do but they’re just being high class.
I buy these at wally mart in canada when on sale. Reg $38.00 a pack for 2. Sale goes on for $12-$14 a 2 pack. Buy 20 packs at a time. They are the bomb ! Tender , juicy. Killer deal !
Not just increased it, drastically improved it the southeast region over the next 6 months will see amazing meat. They are even going to black tray prime steaks but at choice price. This program will spread to all stores but baby steps
Gave Walmart steaks a try for the first time within the last year and I was pleasantly surprised. If you get their "thick" cut and look for good marbling, I'd say they're impossible to beat for the money. They're on par with any grocery store and usually for close to half the price.
Just tried this method and it was bloody brilliant. Wow cheers thanks for the hot tips. Love your channel. I’m all the way in Australia and never miss an upload. I want wanted to post a photo but couldn’t Dam I wish you could have seen the outcome. Cheers Kosmo
I just received my (3) babies. Spg, Texas beef, cow cover hot, I’m in Indiana and only took 3 days to get them, as a firs time user I first got a cheap ribeye from Aldis, since I didn’t know what I would like better I did half with spg and Texas beef and the other half with cow cover hot and Texas beef, did the same on both sides, I have to say I am a person who loves A1 steak sauce and I got it out and never even opened it. I think my favorite side was with the cow cover hot, will do more with different variations soon, thanks for awesome rubs
That would be a damn good steak to eat for breakfast with some scrambled eggs and black coffee! Eating steak prepped and cooked would make your breakfast freakin' top notch supreme.
I want to make a steak dinner for my boyfriends birthday dinner, but I’m on a budget and this video helped so much! He loves steak and we usually go out to a restaurant to eat it but that racks up $$$. Now I can make something special for him at home for less! Thanks man! ☺️
My local walmart has Angus Ribeye. I stop by on my way to work at 0600 they are marking them down at that time. I don't like the thin ones I just get the thick ones. I don't season them alot but I cook them over an oak wood fire. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.
A lot of people don’t have the grill grates.. just Standard grates that come with the grill.. I been looking into buy some grill grates but so darn expensive. See the grill grate spatula/fork tool it’s looks awesome. Only been doing BBQ for year I’m still learning.. I love ❤️ BBQ so much..
I go to Brookshires and when meat date getting close to going out they put certified angus and choice beef on sale, bone in rib roast $48 got it for $10, just sliced bones off and smoking it with brisket point from krogers, the rest of tje rib roast I sliced in thin pieces and marinated with soy sauce, oyster sauce, lemonade and salt and spices for 24 hours, tomorrow on pellet smoker set at 150° and let jerky smoke
Where can I get one of those charcoal trays he is using for the indirect cook? I have also seen some trays where you are able to add water down the center to keep moisture while cooking ribs for example. Thanks.
brownnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Weber makes the charcoal baskets that fit the kettle. The one with the water reservoir is the slow n sear. Adrenaline BBQ company , I believe.
Walmart bought creekstone farms packing plant in Arkansas city kansas they buy and sell top quality all black angus beef so expect choice or better steaks from now on
Love you my friend. Been on here since you were on the Googan Squad episode. Back when you had 67k viewers. Predicted your channel will EXPLODE. I was right. Humble retrospect.
I learned this salt brine from you a while back and now I do it on all my cheaper heb steaks, it really does take it to the next level! Also I don’t know if you have ever used your dirty bird on a steak but I think that comes out pretty good too! I do want to get some cow cover or cow cover hot soon though. Gonna have to make a trip to buccees!
Big Money Kosmo how long before I can order some more seasonings and rib glazes?? I'm almost down to having to add a little water to the glazes and shake my bottles to get every last drop of goodness out of it
Just used a Walmart Angus ribeye for some Korean bulgogi.I was impressed by the marbling when I began to slice the meat for the marinating. Def worth a look if you don't have a standalone butcher in your area
My Walmart has slightly stepped up their game. May be choice and select, but they have tomahawk and bone in uncut ribs and rib halves. Both run about 10 per lb but can catch yellow labels pretty often for about 6 per lb.
Ribeye is the way to go for sure. Walmart recently started selling American wagyu ground beef. I'm cooking up some burgers tonight with it and see how it is.
I’ve cooked a lot of Walmart steaks for SCA practice cooks and I really have no complaints about the quality. If they were cut a little thicker they would be great

I use course salt on every steak I cook except fillet, I do 15 minutes per 1/4" thickness and never have them taste salty. I have refused buying walmart meat but I swear, the steaks I have been getting at other grocery stores have sucked lately. So I may just try the walmart ribeye. We did get 3 ribeyes for the first time at Aldi, I salted them for 1 hour (approx. 1" thick) and made steak fajitas last night in cast iron pan, very tender. Will be getting more of those for the Big Joe grill

No more Christmas sales? The 12 days of Kosmo’s was a bit disappointing the discounts were off a bit ... the glazers are normally $37.80 for the 4 pack but they were overpriced on the sale discount to throw people off . Let’s see what’s next ... I love the products but little things bother me lol
Hey Kosmo, I know you did these reverse sear, but how come you never use your PK Grill for some of these ribeye videos? Also, is it kosher to use kosher salt for the salt brine?
Awesome video Kosmo! Now that’s a way to do a video for the common folk. And by the way, when I buy steak, it is always CAB. Now if you wanna real challenge, go get one of the select ribeye steaks at Walmart and try that. I would really be interested in seeing how that comes out
Thanks for this great video sir! Very well shot. Awesome. Informative, entertaining and all around a high end production. No corny sound effects or annoying fluff. 👍👍
Great video Kosmo, I just made a video of a Walmart ribeye on my Blackstone and it turned out great. I'm not a fan of flat top cooked steaks but it was cold outside and my Blackstone is in my 65 degree garage. I'm gonna have to give your salt brine method a go, thanks for sharing my friend.
Hi Jarod Cox, Meat tenderizers are ok, but you have to be careful how much and how long it’s on the meat. I think a better way to tenderize steak is with a salt brine or jacard and marinate. Check out some of my other videos th-cam.com/users/KosmosQ1search?view_as=subscriber&query=Tenderizing
I love that you do videos like this, I like watching the crazy expensive cuts of meat, but take a cheap cut of beef season it right and cook it right and you can have a nice steak dinner. That being said I am still waiting on a juicy Lucy video from you
Ya’ll wanna know what’s crazy? Wall Mart ACTUALLY sells Wagyu steaks now....at least the ones in my area do...and they’re not that much more than Wal Mary’s “prime/usda” WELL worth the $$ and cheaper than your local butcher....
You made those Walmart steaks look great! Subscribed after that! Just a little critique, your music is a little loud for background, I found myself turning it down but then your talking was too low haha, but either way, I'll be watching more videos!
I've never salt brined like this. FYI Walmarts steaks are not the cheapest. Have you really checked their prices. This is to the subs on here. Walmart doesn't have the cheapest prices on everything.
@Matthew Curreri i worked for shoprite and now walmart. shoprite was fresher since many are cut at the store. shoprite also has more variety in size of the meat. walmart t-bones are all about 1 lb. shoprite cuts many different sizes. you can find .5lb t-bones up to over 2lb t-bones. walmart sizes are more consistant. i also liked shoprites price plus deals when they might have t-bone on sale at 5.99lb limit 4 lbs. they always have a good deal on some meat. usually on the front page of the circular.
they cut their own meat when i worked there. worked lodi and wallington. before that worked at pathmark both clifton locations, west paterson and kinnelon. all cut their own meat and used the scraps to make their own ground beef. i wanted the meat cutter job. it paid more and was a different union then the rest of the departments.

I get the usda cowboy ribeye from Walmart. 1.5ib or above!
