Explaining EVERY Easter Egg! - FNAF 1-3

- Today I go over every single easter from from the first 3 Five Nights at Freddy's games (FNAF 1, FNAF 2, and FNAF 3---the original trilogy). I used the established fnaf lore to explain each easter egg and I also theorized about some of the less known parts of the story.

For the hallucination of Freddy ripping his own head off, you can see little threads of fabric still clinging to his lower jaw, which is absolutly horrifying because it makes Freddy seem more organic, like it's actual sinue holding his head together.
That is definitely creepy. Do you think that indicates that the poster changing is a hallucination, haunted, or something else? I’m curious :)
If I were to guess, I would say a bit of both, a hallucination caused by the spirit inside Freddy, showing the guard that he's alive and wants out.
@@whosasking8839 I think someone else commented about that and I hadn’t even thought about it until that point. Freddy pulling his mask apart could very well be symbolic of his spirit trying to free himself from his prison, similar to how William tries to escape his suit in the FNAF 3 rare screens. Good point! :)

18:18 I'm pretty sure Scott added the jumpscare because of the rumours! One of the (untrue at the time) rumours before the update was that after typing in 1987 in custom night you get jumpscared by Golden Freddy, so Scott made it true in the following update
A classic Scott troll xD
If I remember correctly (this was almost a decade ago so I could be wrong) it was a rumor saying something about a secret ending so I guess it’s true now lol
Pretty sure the 1987 Rumor was that there was a hidden ending.
@@sonomni it's possible that there were many versions of the rumour, I remember that prior to the update, in my region (not the US 😅) the rumour with a secret jumpscare was more popular than the one with a secret ending, also bc not every kid had accees to mainstream media at the time. my bad if the secret ending rumour was the most popular one!
The suggestion that the FNAF 1 location was built on top of an older location is highly likely. It's possible this could be what is in "the box." Recently, we're shown a Pizzaplex built on top of FNAF 6. Absolutely brilliant.
I agree :) I talked about it in my recent theories, but I think it’s very possible that the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza in FNAF 1 was the same building used in the first pizzeria (the one mentioned in the FNAF 3 cassettes).
the FNAF 1 location IS the MCI location... they both have a foxy's cove, and phone guy said that the old location was left to rot. looks pretty rotted in FNAF 1 to me
@@bonswootch While you're close, its more that the FNaF 1 location is straight-up the same location being re-used by Fazbear
They didn't build on-top of it, they just cleaned it up and put the now patched up animatronics back on their stages
Isnt the fnaf 6 location the box to trap the animatronics
@@slyfox7452 What?
I was always kinda under the impression that although the animatronics themselves are possessed, they can still affect other objects (ex: the masks, spare endos, posters) just by being nearby. Like the presence of the spirits alone is enough to cause hallucinations and such.
Yeah, I think the Mimic basically confirms this as the Mimic has a ton of agony in it and it's mere presence causes lights to bug out
I like the idea of Shadow Bonnie being an entity made of pure negative emotion. If they are the employees who died in the “multiple and simultaneous springlock failures”, this would imply that they were in so much pain that it created entities made purely of those negative feelings.
Just goes to show how incredibly agonizing a springlock failure is.
have you SEEN what springlock failures actually are? if multiple of those go off at the same time, in different places all over the body, none being instantly fatal, yeah that would be agonizing in the lightest sense
the circus music playing in fnaf 1 is whats known as a red haring, it doesnt actually mean anything, its just there to make the player nervous, thats something thats really missing in newer games as every noise serves a purpose, that might sound like a good thing but it means that there arent extra sounds to muddy up the soundscape and make it more difficult, same with foxy singing
quoting the scruffy video
"its just there to make the player nervous" that's literally what a purpose is tho
true, but what i meant was that all other sounds are directly related to the danger you're in, red herrings only serve to scare the player, but its not an indication of danger@@imagebear8916

Fnaf 1-3 story was honestly I think was near perfect. Obviously, there are some things that I would change or remove. But on its own it’s an amazing story that was very easy to understand.
FNaF 1’s biggest flaw: No mini-games
FNaF 2’s biggest flaw: Nothing imo
FNaF 3’s biggest flaw: Lacking cast and jumpscares
@@NiqRippleFnaf 2’s biggest flaw: Underutilization of the cameras and lack of explanation as to the toy animatronics and Balloon boy, which isn’t followed up on. It’s very vague as to whether there were 5 or 10 dead kids
@@ashtremble It's likely that the "excuse" for the toys actually is true:
Glitchy af ai that considers the MC to be a threat.
@@NiqRippleFnaf 1 in my opinion didn’t really need any mini games the vague story was a perfect set up
As for Fnaf 3 I agree and disagree. I generally love the fact that springtrap the only animatronic that can kill you. However I do wish there were more real characters actually making stuff happen.
@@ashtremble yeah, this was one of the things that held back the story from being perfect. The whole 11 dead kids really feels unnecessary. It should’ve just been stated that they’re connected to the withered animatronics so there half possess.
I always like to think originally when fnaf 1 was out golden Freddy was either a demon that was the cause of everything horrible at Freddy’s or the spirit of the bite of 87 victim taking the form of what killed them with some slight alterations to it
Jeez people love not reading comments fully when I say I like to think originally I mean that as a theory on what the original story could’ve been i hope i made myself clear

Before all the lore, and it being shrouded in mystery, everyone forgets how terrifying fnaf was when it first came out. The Fnaf 1 section reminded me of that. I can guarentee Scott's idea of fnaf 1 easter eggs was thinking how scary it could be from no explination.

The Bite of '87 happens to the night guard you play as for the first 5 nights of FNAF 2. After a _former employee_ lures children in an old springlock suit, the animatronics start to act up, prompting the phone guy to have you watch them at the last birthday party before closing for the investigation. You are prompted to stay close to the animatronics, which allows one to give you a bite that was probably meant for a _former employee_
Wasn't he also on the 6 night? IIRC Fritz Smith only worked on the custom night

it surprises me to think that Mr. Cupcake somehow has more relevance to the lore than Chica herself. (And on top of being more popular than Chica, at least to my knowledge.)
He had a bigger role in the movie too xD
I'd love a timeline split or something, because Golden Freddy could've been a lot... MORE. "It's me", attempts to get Mike to recognize the spirit trapped with the suit, even mercy killing you in a way that doesn't lead to you being trapped in a suit like the rest of them. So many stories have plots where the spirits lose themselves and their reasoning over time, the spirit needs to be calmed. The kids physically trapped corrupt into the deadly animatronics quicker than Golden. Golden has some reasoning left, they try communicating, even showing up in the room with you, maybe there's a chance something can actually happen to fix this. It's like a hungry animal, though, you ignore it, you ignore its existence, there's no chance to fix it because "he doesn't see me", or you stare at it, acknowledge its existence, and it can't help but attack you as it finally gets something and loses itself to its emotions. Instead of being a vengeful, hateful "God" that's only after William, it's a kid trying its best to ask for help, to find someone who can actually see them and maybe get help only to fall to the corruption of their spirit when given a chance to talk. A child trying to ask for help from a security guard is a pretty normal thing, even if phone guy ended up falling to her as she tried.
I love this idea! :D

Fantastic vid, and a great refresher on the original games' story. I enjoyed the tie-ins to The Silver Eyes especially!
I’m glad to hear that! I have another video discussing The Silver Eyes and FNAF movie you might like :)
And also about the Paper Pals.
Paper plate Freddy: Fredbear.
Paper Plate Bonnie: SpringBonnie.
The Smiling Paper plate: Cassidy?
A Reddit post pointed out that the smiling paper plate disappearing seems very similar to the Kid seen in stage 01 from FNAF 3 also disappearing, it could be retelling the 5th MCI, Cassidy, being lured and murdered.
And it could also imply That Shadow Bonnie, Shadow Freddy and JJ Could all be agony from Cassidy’s murder maybe?
I know all this seems like A Stretch but it’s just a theory.
It's moments like 15:33 and 17:03 that make a 47 min video worth watching. They crack me up so much 😂

I like that sequel additions have gotten so convoluted that we’re grappling with the concept of a potentially three seperate restaurants that got shut down, then demolished, then had another restaurant plopped on top of it over like two decades
You don’t know how long I have been waiting long for this.
Thanks for your amazing content.
:) I’m glad you enjoy it!
I used to hate 3 but over the years it’s become my favorite. 1 did a great job establishing the lore, and 2 did a great job establishing, but I think the conclusion to fnaf 3 (especially the good ending) was one of the most powerful send offs to a series that there was so much discussion and lore built up around. (You had to be there to understand how hyped this game was) And then the 4th came out.
I completely agree, FNAF 3’s ending was great at the time. Of course, I’m glad we got more than 3 games in the long run, but Scott did a great job writing the conclusion to a great trilogy :)
Easter eggs were such a massive part of original fnaf for me.
I completely agree :)
@@bonswootchThe extreme lack of Easter eggs (like those in fnaf 1 or 2) really disappointed me, too. 😔
Him: phone guy doesn’t talk about golden Freddy
Also him: literally dies to golden Freddy
It's amazing how a second look at something when you are older can completely change your view of something.
Relevantly for me, it's the newspaper in FNAF 1 announcing the imminent closure of the pizzeria, particularly the closing quote of *"These characters will live on in the hearts of kids."*
I was so young, I had no idea what a CEO was, so I thought that could've been literally anyone EXCEPT the company owner. I thought maybe it was a parent's intials, police officer, employee, or even someone that grew up with the restaurant as a favorite location and is sad to see the pizzeria go - in a sort of sympathetic act to local business shutting down - or perhaps it being a representation of said customer growing up. Their childhood is over, and with it, so goes Freddy's.
What I'm trying say is that I thought the local people (I always pictured FNaF taking place in a small-medium sized town, ≤40k~ people by my adult PoV), still had love in their hearts for Freddy's despite the tragedy, like the reaction to having to put a dog down because it attacked or killed something. They knew it was a necessary act, but it doesn't change the fact that lot's of postive memories were made there. Heck, like a dog being out down from a child's PoV there might not even be any knowledge of the tragedy - just the loss of something you hold dear. Maybe these feelings were sprung by how similarly I felt about FNAF itself - it was a REALLY cozy game to me.
Now that I am an adult and know what a CEO is, I gotta say: WOW, that CEO's an asshole! Like, Major Asshole from Spaceballs ain't got nothing on this level of incompetence, and that's his actual name!
If the cupcake theory is true, then that means that that cupcake has some SEVERE PTSD by now

I've heard the word "animatronic" so many times that it doesn't sound like a real word anymore

15:30 While it could have story and lore implications, this “circus” music is actually a part of Freddy’s music box song which is “Carmen Suite No. 1: Toreador March”. The classic “har har har har” is actually just a small portion of the original classical piece!
This video gave off such 2015/2016 it was awesome lol, good video!
Thank you! I tend to do a lot of early FNAF content :)
Side note about thr "save him" minigame, considering the smaller size of the place and that freddy is the only one we see i think its safe to say this is fredbears. Not only that bht Freddy is a springlock suit being worn by Henry, who in the novels is shown to be the one who wears the fredbear suit. It would also be symbolic Henry rushing around to please all the kids, while his own is left outside...in the rain to be killed by his partner. Also thus would explaim the kids behavior in the securaty puppet minigame. Sure the kids running off instead of helping charlie back in could just be kids being mean and cruel jokes but...wouldent make more sense if the kids ran off because somthing sweet was being served?...maybe a cake??? The freddy being a sprimglock suit being worn makes sense too if this is fredbears, the freeroam animatronics in fnaf 2 werent a thing yet, and that was the whole point of the springlock suits to begin with to preserve the magic of the robots being alive they doubled as wearable suits and robots. They were a prototype freeroam if you will. And if im right in saying that henry was serving cake and thats part of the reason Charlie couldent get back in, then in his rush to make the other kids happy, his focus on them helped to kill his daughter. To quote i camt fix you: "this is what happens when you leave it to sombody else, if you want it done right you should just do it yourself. You oversaturate your world in nothing but machines...you might make everyone happy, but youre dead inside just like me." Henry built the securaty puppept to stop kids from leaving unguided by a parent or adult, but added extra protection for his daughter seeing as shes the onlyone with a green wrist band. He trusted a machine that failed. And the toys, robots design to prevent anyone else going missing just failed even being hooked up to a crimanal database. This led to a malfunction that caused the bite of 87. S phone guy mentioned the dont trust adults and also roam looking for where the guests went when its night leadinf to the office and you. And if the programinf error that caused the bite of 87 was suspision toword jeramy a prevoius nightguard turned dayshift worker who the animatronics would have some reconision to would also see that the freddy head was a trick to gain their (the toys) trust. The mask an item for the nightshift a counter to the "unproper nightmode" the toys probly thought he was suspisious for changing shifts and being known for using a mask to belnd in...somthing the killer woulf be likely to do...they programing flaged this behavior as.intened but failure from mangle being in peices, and that means thier ai, it unintentionally set the flag to "dangerous" mode and as unstable as mangle being pulled apart and not properly reassembled their fractured ai told them to protect the kids and it did...by elimanating the potential threat being flagged. In the end Henry leaves fazbear entertainment forced to watch as the creations the machines he made to make people happy and entertain...led to the most horriffic things he never imagined, leading to a broken man, dead inside who will eventually try to right his wrongs in ffps, by burning everyone and everything including disolving the compony he started with william years ago. The road to hell are paved with good intentions after all. (Also quick side note, if the toys were scrapped after fnaf 2 and Afton posing as a maitnece man was working on dismatleing the toys for scrap that means the ai too, any possible trace of him linking to the Mci, so he takies the database which stores all the info to get rid of, leading to that unexplained CrmnInstituite file in sister locations code that revealed chicas party world and the scedule of the funtimes. That file is the central database that stored the info of crimanls in the toy a imatronics which afton could have taken posing as dave miller.)
😎
This wasnt mentioned but in the Give gifts give life minigame a 5th body will appear in the screen right before Golden Freddy jumpscare, with the score number becoming random. Also something I watn to point out that got greatly overlooked is the use of 2 models of the same character in the same game. While we have 2 sprites of the purple guy that led us to understand 1 of them was actually Michael Afton. In the FNAF 3 we have 2 sprites for Sahdow bonnie. One on the follow me which is more black and organised and one that is purple with a somewhat different head.
Considering many similarities between Stage 01 MiniGame and the Paper Plate Pals.
Oh and also Bon Swootch theorizing of Shadow Bonnie being A SpringBonnie Variant.
Shadow Freddy, Bonnie and JJ: Agony from Cassidy’s murder? Maybe?

I didn't know the door knock thing could happen at random until you're video and i watched a lot of 'fnaf decoded' videos always nice to learn someone new.
Here's the thing about golden freddy, sure the phone guy may not talk about him, he does encounter golden freddy on the night 4 phone call, it's the jumpscare at the end, if you listen it's golden Freddy's scream

In FNAF 2, Shadow Freddy and the Endo 02 Easter Eggs were meant to be seen for split seconds as they were meant to disappear along with a sound (metal clanging) when you saw them
due to a coding error this didn't work properly and they would remain until you looked away
Specifically, the timer that's supposed to make them disappear and play Metalrun.wav is overwritten every frame by a piece of debug code that says whether a blackout is happening
25:54
the reason they're withered is because they tried to fit them on the new endoskeletons.
I think the reason why Golden Freddy says "its me" is probably the bite of 83 victim or C.C is possessing him as well with cassidy and trying to get Michael's (the one who killed C.C) attention.
This guy is the new matpat
xD I laugh it off, but really that means so much to hear. I know how loved MatPat is in the community and I can only hope to make an impact as great as his. Thank you for the comment :)
Just looked up the purpose of Safe Rooms and apparently: A safe room or panic room is a fortified room that is installed in a private residence or business to provide a safe shelter, or hiding place, for the inhabitants in the event of a break in, home invasion, tornado, terror attack, or other threat.
So the Safe Rooms being built could allude to Being made To Hide things like the SpringBonnie Animatronic so no one can touch or use it……..
23:23, I think this calls back to Fredbears.
Paper plate Freddy: Fredbear.
Paper plate Bonnie: SpringBonnie.
Smiling Paper plate: Cassidy? Maybe?
Another thing, is I’m also thinking.
Shadow Freddy=Fredbear.
Shadow Bonnie: SpringBonnie.
JJ: Representation of The Kid from Stage 01 MiniGame.
This could retell The Kid(Being Cassidy) getting Lured and Murdered by William.
I’m also assuming that rare endo in FNAF 2 is Fredbear’s.
41:10, Strange theory: It could allude to the Building Being Haunted by Afton.

It's hard to say. The movie isn't exactly 1:1 with the lore.
I think the circus music is just a malfunction of the pizzeria itself, something accidentally causing its music to play. y'know, the music for when the animatronics are performing?
I remember explaining some Easter eggs in your live stream so I hope a couple of the ones I told you make an appearance here
They all did ;)
@@bonswootchhooray!
My theory is that Golden Freddy originally was Phone guy. He's never mentioned it, gets captured in the last phone recording, it makes a similar noise when it happens, night 6's call is just those noises.
Most importantly is two facts.
1. "It's Me" which at the time the only other person we would know is Phone Guy. Considering that the game was designed with only light lore in mind to establish that the suits are possessed, it's easy to draw that conclusion of who we're meant to believe that sign is.
2. Golden Freddy is slumped in the office, where we'd assume Phone Guy died as the voice memos are from that same office.
I've always interpreted the Freddy poster as the spirit trying to escape the suit or something
A small correction: the "It's me" sign by the Pirate Cove has no chances, it's completely guaranteed if you look at that camera after Foxy ran out! Same for Puppet, when you fail at winding it up. If that happens and you look at the cameras shown in the video, the Puppet is going to be seen
Thanks this helps me sleep you have a calm voice
You’re welcome, thanks for watching :)
I want to point out that shadow Freddy is ash green in 3 because everything in that game has an ashy green filter over it, and he's grey in 2 because you only get to view him on a black and white monitor. As for the glowy eyes and teeth not being present in 3, I think that's just to make him a little harder to spot, giving the player a "what did I just see?" kinda moment
I have a mandela effect on how the animatronics jumpscare you in the cameras. Maybe cause of the trailers, but i think i was just stupid.
Bro why tf is Cassidy’s face so terrifying to me
Stack me up against anything else in the games, that face literally makes my heart skip a beat just looking at it
Then again I feel uneasy when Bonnie gets right up in the camera as well and while that feeling is similar it’s not quite the same, that one I can stomach a bit more
Idk maybe it’s the psychopathic grin, the fact he’s staring directly at you way too close, or the color gradient that comes when upping the brightness
Or all of the above
If golden Freddy isn’t real why do we hear him kill phone guy in a phone
Crazy underrated channel, can’t wait for the rest of the games Easter eggs

Freddy is missing his endo in the poster when taking his head apart is because it's at a really weird angle, and also the endo head would distract people from looking at Freddy
i wonder who the phone guy really was, he could have been a CEO at one point, then the company could have gone into new management and he might have been given a good sum of money to help run new stores for the new CEO. I like to think he was fully aware of everything and didn't wanna loose the pay he was contracted to get, so he kept his mouth shut to everyone including the CEO of the FNAF 1 and 2 games restaurants
Yeah, he always vaguely acknowledges the danger and shadiness of everything he discusses in the tapes/phone calls so I agree that he’s fully aware of everything. Maybe I’ll look into him for a future video and try to uncover his history :)
1:10 that jumpscare scared the shit outta me
xD
scott cawthon: why do i keep getting nightmares of bonnie
also scott cawthon:
I never knew I needed an explanation for these, but thanks mate, very interesting
:) Thanks! I’m glad you liked it. I thought it would be interesting to look into all of these rare and hidden details to see how many of them have meaning, since easter eggs are often where we get the most of the story in FNAF :)
6:10 I think this is true, as when phone guy dies you can hear golden Freddy finish him off at the end, Mike was fired for tampering with the animatronics but never found phone guy’s corpse, so yes I believe that golden Freddy does not stuff you into a suit.
Videos like this is what makes me intrigued about the lore, subscribed!
Thank you, I’m so glad you feel that way! It’s great to have you in the community, new video coming this Sunday :)
From what I know, Golden Freddy and Fredbear are the same animatronics. After the bite of ‘83, C.Cs spirit possessed Fredbear, just like how Charlie wasn’t in Puppets suit to possess them. Then, that’s what drove William on a children murder spree, to find out why his son’s spirit decided to possess an animatronic rather then go to the afterlife. But Golden Freddy changed names to not be related to the accident. I don’t think it’s a hallucination, since Mike Schmidt is actually Micheal Afton disguising his name, it’s his little brother, telling him that he’s still here, he’s in this state. Because. Of. Him

maybe it’s William, just William. Dead William, they’re trying to torture him.
Just like in FNaF ultimate custom night, apparently the animatronics locked William in his own personal hell for that game. So maybe when he died here, his body was locked in the pizzaria, and golden Freddy told the others, so they decided they wanted to torture William forever. Until his body got moved..
I love this guys voice. subscribed
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like it :)
2:01 i did the math, there is a 0.00003051757% chance of getting the golden Freddy Easter egg (I’m doing binomial probability for math and I was bored lmao)
i just love foxy humming
xD I asked my friend to make a beat out of it
This video reminds me of the early fnaf theories where we didn’t see every pixel and line from each book
35:53 Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closing is referring to the original location that the Withered animatronics come from, not the location in the first game. Nothing lore relevant happened in that location while the inciting incident of the entire series, the MCI, happened in the location before FNaF 2.
Scott did not randomly decide to make FNaF 3 take place in the future without showing a single futuristic aspect.
You can actually see FNaF 1 Golden Freddy's Endo skeleton if you look hard enough.
The thing about the endos and their numbers:
They explain they tried the new Endo models with the old suits and decided to just make new suits, the toy suits.
The Endo 1 models must be the original endos.
y'know I just had an idea.
what if the "Fredbear and friends" on the tv wasn't actually a show, but a commercial for an upcoming Fredbear's location set to open in 1983, that would become freddy fazbear's pizza after the bite.
That honestly makes a lot of sense. Because I think that fnaf 4 taking place in 1983 just gives me brain damage. It conflicts with so much 😭
The restaurant in fnaf 1 is the same restaurant that was left to rot, they reused the same location, which is why it is in disrepair in fnaf 1.
