Aaron and Claire are great ambassadors for South Korea. They are really smart and make high quality videos. They have fun. Always have a full belly before watching their videos because you are going to be made hungry.
Mark Stone Haha are we? Really? lol Thank you for saying that and we are so honored. 🤗🙏 Yes, I agree. Don't forget to eat something before watching our videos! 😋😉
Yes you two are wonderful ambassadors for your country because you bring a lot of fun to the world. Cooking and food are sort of universal expressions so you are reaching people all over the world.
After watching this video I got the courage to finally make gimbap, and now I've made it like 5 times and it's always a treat, and I always rewatch this video 2-3 times before I make it, in preparation. It is THE PERFECT video for this dish ❤❤❤
I used to suffer when rolling and cutting kimbap rolls bc they would just fall apart. This hack of covering the knife's edge with sesame oil is amazing. Not only it helps getting a clean cut but it also transfers some of that lovely taste between each cut. It also helps to wipe the knife with a moist cloth every now and then to keep it from getting too sticky. I made some kimbap for New Year's Eve and cut it using Aaron's hack and it's probably the prettiest kimbap I've ever made.
Omg it's so sweet! When Aaron says that he consider this little tiny things in his videos to makes our lives easier like prep the eggs before the carrots to have less dishes to wash
Honestly I love you guy's channel so much. I love the effort you make to provide simple and easy recipes, substitute/ omission options, and common ingredients. The dynamic provided between you both is so casual, it's clear you two have great chemistry. It's truly a channel apart from the many youtube cooking channels and I hope you both get the fame and recognition you deserve. Keep up the good work.
Now we are talking about. This is beyond everything. This is my favorite favorite Korean dish. It's so versatile and delicious. I can't resist. I can eat a lot. Thanks
I make a variation of the kimchi gimbap: I make the egg, add a slice of cheese, put the kimchi and roll it in a tortilla, like a korean burrito. SO GOOD in the morning for breakfast!
I absolutely LOVE all the videos with 6 different ways to use (insert item here) or 10 different ways to make (insert item here). It makes you stand out from other channels so much as well as your personalities which I have fallen in live with!
Awesome! We are making gimbap tonight with what we have in the fridge and pantry: crab, tuna, cucumber, carrot, avocado and green onion. We love your videos! Also, I’ve been making tteokbokki at least once a week for over a month because of you! Luckily we have several Korean grocery stores in Portland, Oregon so I can get all the ingredients! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos, I know it takes a lot of effort.
Awesome! It's so nice to hear that you can enjoy them often! The written recipe was already posted on our blog, so please check it before you try it. Hope you like them too! 😊🤞 aaronandclaire.com
Something i love about this channel is Aaron makes everything simple. I am learning Korean cooking only here. Claire is a goddess of making me hate her. She enjoys the food and I get extremely hungry. anyway, I need to share this on my FB. Thanks so much both you love birds.
Kimchi Gimbap is my favorite go-to after watching this video, I make it at least once a week! Love the pan fried egg tip, and putting oil on the knife! Thank you Aaron, cooking can be intimidating but your videos give me so much confidence 😄
I'm always watching Aaron cook while I'm cooking and then eat with Claire. Ever since I started living along in my own apartment, I've since been a fan of this channel! You helped me a lot so much
oh Aaron, i went downstate and went to the Korean store and bought lotsa ingredients, stocked up on anything I thought I needed. now I don't feel like cooking. but I have my cupboards full. and I just picked my first homegrown Korean radish, my napa is almost ready to harvest and all I feel like doing is making instant ramyan . i even have harvested my chives and green onions. so with all your inspirational videos, i am going to whip up something between kimchi jigae/noodles/sauteed veggies something. i even bought black bean sauce and i have never had that. I just love you guys so much you are so inspirational. thanks.
Wow, wow, wow! Hello from US. These are so good and easy, I can eat them everyday for 2 weeks! Thanks, your vids are amazing! I would also try spicy sardines as part of the filling instead of tuna.
amazing, i learned kimbap in a Korean cooking class organization at my college. Seeing that same rolling and work just puts me back to the original time i rolled it. such memories for me.
Kimbap is so good! I just had some for dinner today with spicy rice cake ahaha. And Omg. Your dog in the background is so cute, you should show the doggo in the video more often ❤️
You can use a stiff brown paper grocery bag instead of a bamboo mat. Works great. It’s all I’ve ever used to make rice rolls. It looks difficult without any wrapping tool at all.
I made my first gimbap, thank you Aaron!! It was easy and sooo delicious with egg and kimchi! Can’t wait to try the others, your tips were so helpful 👍🏼
I just discovered this channel and I think you two are amazing!!! You have such an understanding of what is difficult to get overseas, and such an understanding of how everyday cooking is like. Like you said that if it's been a long time since you've gone grocery shopping, you may not have a lot of ingredients, but you may have some eggs in your fridge. You're totally right!! I do!! This is the first time I have come across a cooking channel like this. I will definitely be making lots of gimbap now!
Hi Aaron, Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your patience and explanations of each dish. It is a pleasure to listen to you. I think that it is great that Claire tastes and comments on the end results of each dish. Appreciate your hard work. I try to make the dishes Thanks again, Myra
Thank you for the tutorial on how to roll gimbap! I tried it before but could never get the ingredients to stay inside, now I feel more confident I can get it right.
I made this for dinner. I remember my mother would lightly brush the edges with sesame oil instead of using water. I sent your video to my younger brothers. We miss our mother’s cooking! Thank you for your wonderful recipes!
I'm into these korean recipes right now, and where I live it is difficult to get lots of ingredients. This gimbap recipe is really awesome because the ingredients are really easy to get! Thanks a lot guys! c:
I been making california roll (similar to gimbap) at home for 15+ years, and I still learned so much from this video. I would have never thought to sesame oil the knife. Genius. Really good gimbap ideas here, did a wonderful job of making it accessible and worry-free for everyone. Truly excellent work. :)
"Real" sushi rice is not short grain but actually a tumbled medium grain rice to make it shorter but thicker. But in my experience (5 years in a commercial sushi kitchen + 2-3 years at home) short grain also works. Water ratio is about 1:1 with a smidge extra water.
Thanks for the info 😊 My sis and I made some a month ago, but it didn't stick well 😔 We've always eat long-grain rice so we assumed any rice would stick.. Now the mystery is solved (BTW, it was still delicious even if the rice didn't stick) 😋
Thank you for making such a easy video to follow! I am making the ham one for lunch, sadly I live in USA, Kansas, and it is very hard to find kimchi and pickled radish so mine will be without those. But i am adding the sweet and spicy sauce!
Delicious. I had the Tuna Kimbap today. I mixed sesame oil with the hot sesame oil, mixed it in the rice and brushed it outside the slightly toasted seaweed over low fire. Added egg, cucumber, red sweet pepper (mild), perilla leaves since my mom grows it in her garden, and that's it! I will never eat tuna sandwiches anymore because this way is less carbs. Lol Thank you for sharing!
Thanks to Aaron and this video I can finally make a sushi roll that doesn't fall apart! Without a mat! Without cling wrap or a towel!! Just roll it like Aaron shows you, practice, and you will be a sushi master too!!!
