If you live in a relatively flat area, a stock buddy 50 will do fine zipping around town at 230 lbs. It's the hills that kill ya. I live in a pretty hilly area (I'm 210 lbs) and found it to be under powered and dangerous for me to ride... Not being able to leave anything alone... I put a 70cc Malossi sport big bore kit and a sport exhaust on it and it and I keep up with traffic (if not passing cars) on the biggest hills around... If you can find a deal on a buddy 125 or 175... That may be the way to go, if you are not up for modifying a 50... The wife and I graduated to Vespa 150s (that we love) but believe it or not, the Buddy was more fun to ride... Very light weight and nimble...
Do you think this scooter is big enough for a man 5'11 230 ???
