Great vid as always! The lens width and bridge size are identical on the two pairs. Being that the frame itself is bolder snd thicker on the new pair, does it add to the total width, even in a slight way? Lastly…. The available “rose gold” frame on the new model looks amazing. It appears to be more copper-like than rose. All my rayban and randolph aviators are silver. I’d like to switch it up but not if they look too feminine. What do you think? Keep up the good work! I’ve wanted Initium Aviator style(The Cocktails) but there Sizes are to small for my Fat Face. I’m stoked that Ray Ban came up with the New Aviator style. Almost like The Initium Cocktail style. Johnny Knoxville and M Shadows are the reason I wear Aviator glasses 😎

I was told I can’t wear aviators with a strong prisms like mine and then I asked if I could buy rimless they said they won’t do it because it will show to much of the prisms. I really love avaistors I will givegg by the newer version a try. Thankyou

A classic aviator 58mm let pass light from the frame's top, a 62 mm same model will improve this? Or I should buy a different model or brand?
Unless you are a big boy like Chris Hemsworth, you buy the 58mm.
I wear a 55 on the original aviators, which corresponds to the medium. But the new aviators don't have different sizes yet, has there been any news regarding mediums being added to the lineup?
Not as of yet, Reinhardt. But RayBan is always adding new size options to various models. Fingers crossed they expand on the New Aviator too! 🤞
Hi, I've been looking for a long time for a pair of glasses identical to the one Stallone wears in the movie "Cobra" (1986). But it's complicated, on the internet I didn't find anything after hours, found only that they were blue polarized and in fact they were. Do you have any idea what the name of the lens model is? I went to my local lens crafter to order the 3025 and I did then they called me and said the company is no longer selling them so I had to get the new aviators

Back in the mid-1970s, I was a Navy Aircrewman….flying out of NAS Brunswick Maine, on P-3 B Orions. Aside from chasing/tracking Soviet submarines….we were also called upon to track Soviet surface shipping, Soviet intell gathering ships, and sometimes pulled into SAR missions. A quality pair of sunglasses were necessary -- because so often, we would be glued to the port windows for searching and intell photography. I wore RayBan aviators. I still have both pair….but they both have the wire “wrap around” temples…..and one of the pair has a wire circle in the middle of the bridge. Im more used to my Costas and Oakleys and Smiths….all great sunglasses, but much more comfortable than those wire-wrap-around-the-ear temples.

For many years I’ve wanted aviators they said they don’t cut prism lens to put in my glasses on top of the prescription then she said it’s hard to do.

Pilots need non-polarized lenses (G-15) and the small frame is to accomodate headphones worn while in the cockpit. You didn't mention that important differentiation, needed when buying.

Why do pilots need non-polarized lenses?
@@DeusExMachina50 polarized lenses will block viewing any glass screens, whereas non polarized will not. Had this happen even when viewing an tablet or iPhone

Not every polarized lenses and not every screens.
I like the curvature better on the originals. A 6 Curve is doable, but I don't like a 4 curve. Too flat and light comes in too easy on the sides.

Hello! The lenses are not interchangeable like that of the Flak 2.0 XL, BUT you can change out the lenses in the aviators using a optical screw driver OR take it to a local optician!
The original RayBan 3025 isn't original. The original pre-Luxottica RayBan 3025 weren't polarized. Futhermore pre-Luxottica RayBans don't have "RB" inscribed in their glasses, but "BL" for Bausch & Lomb, the original glass maker.

Bend the frames to give them a curved look, makes any flat (from the factory) model look awful in comparison.
I bought another after 25 years.
Are the new aviators heavier???
Weight is relatively the same, the xtra brow bar maybe add a couple grams. That's about all.

RB still produces many wraparound style frames.
It's easy to bend the older ones to hive them a awesome curved look. If you are skilles with your hands try it, otherwise ask a glasse shop to do it for you. I can do it without removing anything but unless you already done it before you'll most likely make it crooked, needing more bending which will result in metal fatigue and a torn bridge. That's assuming you don't crack the glasses. For me it's more then worth it tho.
RB3025 IS BEST
I like the original. I'm not a fan of the "New" Aviator and "New" Caravan. The engravings ruin it for me. They give you no tactical advantage whatsoever, unless you were planning on auctioning it off as a collector's item.
Funny how the Rayban glasses seem like a fad among younger people these days when my Dad wore these since the 70s.

I have been wearing aviators since the mid 70's and now in 2023 I am still wearing them. Sometimes people would say "Are they still in style or are they back in style?" My answer was always they never ever went out of style. I was 11 when first started wearing them and I am now over 60. @@sportrxeyewear
