I live in New Jersey. I remember watching this game live, but only the second half. I had to wait for MSG network to go off the air at 2am, then the Prime Network could broadcast the game. I was thrilled to see the Eagles were winning.
Ashley McIntoshs ability to know exactly when to run off his forward was unmatched. Second to none, absolutely genius and created an extra man on the half back. Its always dangerous but he knew when to do it
3 in 92' & 3 in 94'. According to people who reviewed the game in a 1, 2 , 3 system would have had 1 vote in both Grand Finals. Behind Matera & Heady in '92 & Kemp & McKenna in 94'.
Bruce & Dennis you couldn't get a better commentary pairing. They worked together so well. Bruce & Dennis had such a great knowledge of the history of the game & of recent stats of the two clubs.
How Tony Evans didn’t win the Norm Smith in either GF is beyond most, but with a sardine can full of talent, it could’ve been any of them. But, Evans was probably the most consistent Finals player the eagles ever had!!!
Seriously, Tim. Matera was the obvious choice in 92 and Tommy in 94. I agree, though, that Evo was outstanding in both GFs. One of my fav players .. very tough and certainly not lacking in skills.
In terms of voting in 92 it would have gone 3: Matera 2: Heady 1: Evans & in 94' Kemp: 3, McKenna: 2 & Evans: 1 so you could say he was still one of the top players in both wins.
Probably had he kicked straight, but Kemp was dominant all day and when everyone kept missing in the 3rd he put through a vital goal which started the avalanche until the end.
What a shame that this game coincided with the re-enactment of the battle of Britain Day. Fucking constant drone of aircraft. Should be allowed to shoot at the aircraft from the grandstands!
Geelong would've been 119'd 13 years before 2007 if the Eagles could kick straight in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Absolutely dominant display let down by shit kicking from the Eagles
Talk about getting ahead of yourself. I'd assume you're also one of those Eagles fans who already pencilled in an Eagles 2020 Premiership after bashing up a heap of shit sides at Optus Stadium?
For all the so-called dominance of the Eagles in 94, one can only wonder what would have happened had Mick McGuane held that mark in the first final. The prelim had Collingwood won would have meant North and Geelong automatically went through with both finals in Melbourne. Instead the Eagles got a soft run beating 7th and 8th on the ladder in Perth before the GF. There was never a softer run. They lost to Carlton by 11 goals in round 21
We beat finalist Bulldogs in Round 24 by 71 Points, we beat Carlton at Subi by 9 goals halfway through the year and beat North twice, can't say they weren't' the best side all year.
@@CursoryMercenary Not saying you weren't the best side. Overall you were best by miles like you were in 91. But you were so dominant in Perth that the Pies winning may have changed the easy run you got. North made it easy too beating the Hawks in extra time. Hawks were your bogey team as they were in 91. They smashed you in both games. No question though the best team won the flag which didn't happen very often in the 90s

Tony Evens was extremely valuable 92 and 94. 7 goals in GFs
“Fire up or you’ll be chopped” this is what Adam Simpson doesnt understand.

WC should have won more with this side. They were better than the ‘92 team.

I'm American...and omg...the Al Borland bit. Amazing.
Bless you brother, my wife is American too, born and bred. loves Australian football and a West Coast Eagle supporter 😃😃😃
What a great side the Eagles had, experience ,well drilled proffessional on every line.
@@travislogan1892 I am not an Eagles supporter but have to agree, very good unit going to be tough to beat.
@J G soccer is only popular amongst soft boys
@J G Oles at the wheel
Sure about that. Should have one 4 flags with the list they had

Can’t go part Matera in 1992!

Best intro to a grand final......ever
No wonder Ken Hinkley avoids Grand Finals like the plague as a coach
It's now 2024 and 30 year reunion 🎉

What a performance. Gotta say Chris Waterman must have been close to the NSM.

Yeah he got away with two deliberate out of bounds earlier as well, had a shocking game. Dockers were sure to snap him up in the off-season lol!
How bias was the camera work just showing Geelong all the time before bounce
For some reason you a skipped the first two songs the Seekers sang. I Am Australian and Georgy Girl!
