I love the production of the old channel 7 like this one. The music telling a story before the game. Today’s channel 7 product especially for the finals don’t have the the same effort put into it
I thought that back then Seven's afl coverage was awesome great music even with basic graphics and transitions . Craig Willis's voice overseas were excellent.
Soccer is the greatest sport on Earth and is massive in over 240 countries. Afl is big in 4 Australian States. Soccer will be the number 1 sport in Australia by 2050 hdyfbnv
@@mufc510 Hey man I like soccer as well but that is the most incoherent response I've ever read, it had nothing to do with what was represented on TH-cam
Geelong pretty comprehensive in this one. Carlton had a small window of opportunity early in that third quarter; but really costly misses first by O'Sullivan and then Hogg.

Diesel was always payed under the table when he was at Carlton. Carlton certainly weren’t the only club doing it, but they copped the worst punishment mainly cause of Elliot.
A bad loss for Carlton that day with all of Geelong's injuries. For the record for Carlton, Craig Bradley was also missing that day and Silvagni was off in the first quarter with an ankle injury. Diesel didn't have his best day by his standards of that year and then getting reported (1:34:00) but he made up for it a year later in the Grand Final against Geelong, I bet the silly old women in the crowd wasn't smiling and laughing then :P
typical Victorian complaining even though it was the interstate clubs that saved the league and the Victorian clubs. in a national comp a finals series should be played nationally. if clubs are eligible. also Robert Shaw only lasted 2 years at Adelaide replaced by Malcolm Blight at end of 96.

I prefer mid-70s no-frills Production.

Yes their coverage was excellent. Their coverage set the tone for when 10 they got the rights in 2002.

While the loss sucked at the time, it's important to remember that this loss set Carlton up for 1995.
Salary cap breaches set Carlton up for 1995....nothing else!
@@robertwight1394 They occured in 1998. Nice try.

the McDonalds ad was before my time. although I remember the movie. john Goodman was funny as Fred flintstone .
i never and still don't understand why in the first two weeks of finals the 2nd final is played before 1st.
The "1st semi final" would be the with the highest ranked team (hence "1st") but would be played 2nd to give them an extra day's rest
@10.50 is that Stan Grant before the 10,000 spray tans? 😂

Geelong really were cats this year. They had nine lives and just kept rising from the dead. Pity it didn't happen for them in the GF.
I gave us a chance in 89 but not much of a one in all of 92, 94 and 95

in the end Tony locket did make a lucrative switch to Sydney. in 2 years he helped Sydney make the gf in centenary year?
If he'd have stayed at Saints he'd have a Flag medal.
