The reason that there probably aren't many black characters in demonslayer is due to the time period in which it takes place since japan had only opened it's borders roughly 60+ years before the Taisho era and even during a bit of the Taisho era the Meiji Restoration was still ongoing. These were still early days when it came to foreigners. So could Opal really happen in the demonslayer timeline? Possibly, though it would definitely be a rare sight with a low likelihood.
Edit: I only took a class on the culture of japan past and present which I highly recommend, it is extremely fascinating

@@pondererofpointlessdreams5029 That isn't true, Rock Lock from My Hero Academia, Kaname from Bleach, Sister Krone from the promised neverland, and all of the Cloud Ninja from naruto are black. There are many more I can't remember the names of off the top of my head.

The lineart of the series is like a “sumi traditional ink brush” which is interesting because typical anime styles don’t have much variety when it comes to lineart (I know it’s easier to animate this way) but this is a great video analysing the style in depth and the outcome was amazing (I would like to see a video on how to draw in OPM style :) )

@Jurassicpark71 Hey mate. If you have some drawing capability it would be good to learn the art style and get used to it. Have building blocks, get a character from the show that's similar to your characters and reference them, study the style. Learn how the lines work and how the coloring works (if you color)
I'm absolutely sobbing and melting on the floor trying to figure out the line art. I've managed proportions but the line art is kicking my ass
The line art is so different, thick and skinny, that's what I like abt animes with that art style yet it can be tricky to understand it(to those who never tried an art style like that). I've tried it before, but it didn't end well 🙄

kumini choco i personally was fine with how it ended, the whole thing wrapped up nicely, sure that plot device on tanjiro was a bit eh but it worked out and was fitting to the story, really loved it

Absolutely love Demon Slayer line style. That thickness and jaggedness is so amazing!
You know what i like with both the anime and manga style of Demon Slayer. The fact that all the eyes dont have perfectly round edges for the iris's amd it actually looks good. The little things can really tell an artist apart from the rest
The way you drew Sano really reminds me of Kaigaku....(manga readers will understand)

One of the best OCs in this art style I've seen. The only thing that would add more to the effect is some of those thick waves that stand out from everything else
I know you likely just didnt know but the producer of Demon Slayer has said that Gotouge is not comfortable with feminine pronouns. While many people assume that they are a woman, we dont actually know their gender officially.
They might be a woman, nonbinary or a man but in the end it doesnt matter and we should respect the fact that they prefer to be referred to neutrally.
However this is a really fun video and i thing you did an amazing job mimicking in art style of the anime!
I just realized how much work, effort and thought mangaka put in their works. This video raised my appreciation for them exponentially.

Why would black people be in anime when it’s created by Japanese people. The majority of what they see isn’t black.... anime is Japanese. If you want black, and or any other races to be shown more prominently might I suggest you take an interest in comics and or develop your own story.

Love your videos and your art but I was wondering when you were going to post the video tutorial for doing that 3D effect you mentioned in that last video (or the video before that). I know about the advanced blending thing of de-selecting the Red channel etc but it looks nothing like how other people’s art looks like when I do it so I’m guessing there’s another way to achieve this effect but I dunno how.
