Hey guys! Check out the most recent blink-182 cover (Parking Lot) along with the whole blink-182 cover playlist! th-cam.com/video/jWMlbS0fqxA/w-d-xo.html
Haha, yeah it sure was! I like that he keeps it in the live performances, too. Love that they kept it in. And who knows - I would imagine a longer fill though, as now it's first 4 bars and then 3 bars, I'd imagine they'd go 4+4 if there wasn't the mistake! But I love it!

Holy crap. I listened to the new album as soon as it came out, and this immediately became my favourite song on it. Today, I decided to look up drum covers, because I was bored (and I love drums). When this video was done, I saw it was YOUR video! You commented on my older channel when I did a drum cover of "Alien's Exist." You and Ky Smith are my favourite drummer on the whole of TH-cam. Please never stop these videos! Don't get the cynical of feeling of saying you should give up! Hehe
Haha that's fantastic! And maaaan thanks for the compliment! An honor to even be considered anyone's favorite. This tune is definitely one of the very best off the album - possibly one of blink's best, just love the raw energy! :) Thanks again!
There is no reason to dislike this video, non what so ever. I have loved this song, I've had it on repeat for the last fe..........(sorry my cat had hic ups)...... few days, I so so so wish this was the single a good 4/5 minute song because I never tire of hearing that chorus. Your drumming is fucking beautifully executed as ever man. Even the Travis "AW/EH". Peace ND love.
I freaking love your covers man, just can't get over them, now, THIS is my absolute favorite so far! Hahaha, I can't promise it will be THE only one though. Congratulations, amazing as usual man! And thank you SO much for doing this specific cover!
hey, you should make a drum lesson about this "hardcore beat" (idk the technical name of it :P) cuz, I see a lot of drummers here doing it wrong or with double pedal, tks!
Dude! Incredible. I'm trying to learn this song and it's so fast to hear and try to figure out but watching you I feel like I could do it (one day)! Btw the transcription link is broken, any chance you can re-upload?
Ah, I just responded to your previous comment! But yeah - it's not a specific technique! Singles and doubles. Just in a specific pattern, which I specified further down!
Hello buddy ! I just subscrived to your channel and I find your drumming really amazing. But I'd like to ask you a question ! How can you discover how drummers play a song ? I mean I saw the Blink covers you did and they were all perfectly played as Travis would. How did you do that ? ahahahaha sorry for the silly question
Hey, thanks a lot, Stevo! It's something you learn over time by listening, and sometimes watching them perform. You hear small details, and you think about how it would make most sense to be played. It's a part of my profession and daily job, so it's something I've developed over time :) Not a silly question! It's just another kind of art!
Haha, oh, for sure.. 8 hours of straight Travis nearly killed me. Not sure how he does it - especially considering how much more energy he puts into it!
Really great job!!! Nice cover, Max. Why don't you film your feet working? It would be amazing to see your bass drum technique, principally during the fast parts.
Thanks, Marcelo! That might be something coming up in the future. I have some plans for some additional things for next year! Probably late next year, but it'll be cool! :)
hey man are you bounce snapping (doubling) the snare in the 2nd bar of the 2nd half of the drum break before the 'aah' bar or are you buzzing? just curious cause i have to learn this for a band I'm in
Out of the two options you mention, the sooner would be more accurate! I wouldn't say I rely that heavily on the rebound though, I'd say it's a controlled double stroke! Just left hand diddles :) Good luck and enjoy it!
Hey Max, just re watching this video, I was wondering if you would consider covering 6/8. If I think about whose cover I want to watch, it is definitely yours. Hope you take it into consideration. Thanks!
I play in heel-up position with a heel-down technique generally, but for doubles I use something similar to how I play the hi-hat. The half-moeller as some call it. Basically I play one note while lifting the foot, and the second when moving the foot down. Makes sense? I personally never got much control over the slide when trying to fit it into different tempos, but this technique just adapts into all situations for me.
It depends on the situation, purpose and complexity for sure. Also depends on if I like in these situations want to learn them note for note, or if I'm just learning the general thing for live performances, etc. In this case, I first listen to the tune, get a feeling for it all, then start paying more attention to whatever's changing. This song specifically has constant changes and fills, so it's a matter of learning section-by-section. Probably took me about half an hour, I'd say!
can you please please please play the boy who destroyed the world by AFI?? you fucking rock man and i cant find a decent drum cover greetings from chile
That would be a perfect song for a full-band cover, because the original is so very punk and raw and just all-out energy, ending up in the drums being quite sloppy and out of time (which is perfectly fine within the style!); but it makes it very difficult to record drums on top of drums, hehe :) Such a killer song though!
Hey guys!
Check out the most recent blink-182 cover (Parking Lot) along with the whole blink-182 cover playlist!
th-cam.com/video/jWMlbS0fqxA/w-d-xo.html
you also included Travis Barker's "Ahh!"... great job! like it! :-D
Haha - I had to :-) Thanks!
I assume that was bc of a mess up.. Anyone know what it was supposed to be there?
Haha, yeah it sure was! I like that he keeps it in the live performances, too. Love that they kept it in. And who knows - I would imagine a longer fill though, as now it's first 4 bars and then 3 bars, I'd imagine they'd go 4+4 if there wasn't the mistake! But I love it!
I love it too. Leaving stuff like that in is charming and humanizing
Great job! Travis is one of the best drummers of all time. He has to be seeing as he’s in one of the greatest bands ever.
It's been a fun week of blink-182 covers!

Rabbit hole.
Kings of the Weekend
the intro is sick
Every time I watch one of these covers, I judge them on how good the intro break “AHH” is.
10/10

That's definitely one super fun tune off Neighborhoods! Might come in the future!
X2
nice, man. i don't have the chops to even touch this track but you certainly killed it
Just start slow and build it up buddy! Thanks!
It sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is. If you can get the 16th notes you can play this for sure.
There is no reason to dislike this video, non what so ever. You're awesome. Thanks for the kind words! And yeah, I agree!
I freaking love your covers man, just can't get over them, now, THIS is my absolute favorite so far! Hahaha, I can't promise it will be THE only one though. Congratulations, amazing as usual man! And thank you SO much for doing this specific cover!

You never cease to amaze me Max! Another excellent job!
Thanks a lot, Jorge! Much appreciated!
Absolutely nailed it bro!!
Dude! Thanks a lot!
I was waiting for more blink covers
Well, here ya go! A bunch of 'em!
hey, you should make a drum lesson about this "hardcore beat" (idk the technical name of it :P) cuz, I see a lot of drummers here doing it wrong or with double pedal, tks!
Great suggestion, maybe I'll do so! It's kind of a variation of the D-beat, hehe! So yeah nice suggestion!
I've seen guitar covers of this and I'm like, who cares? It's so easy. But the DRUMS. Now that's fun to watch.
Haha! Thank you, Ryan! The drums are definitely a bit more intense :)
Nice work Max! Friggin hard workin dude here!
Oh yeah! Good thing it's fun hard work!
Wow gosh I didn't know this music from blink 182, and it seems to be hard to play !! x)) Very good work, you rock this song ! :D
Haha, thanks buddy! And yeah, super intense song :)

Caramba!! Você toca muito!! Sua cordenação motora é exelente. Meus parabéns!!
Hahah! Thanks!
Essa linha é bem simples, exige treino, óbvio. Mas, veja a banda ao vivo e você vai reparar no espírito do Travis tocando essa. Bem mais rápido.
Amazing performance! Very impressive cover my friend!
Thank you very much, Steve!
really sweet cover dude! Loved it!
Thanks, Mikey!
Dude! Incredible. I'm trying to learn this song and it's so fast to hear and try to figure out but watching you I feel like I could do it (one day)! Btw the transcription link is broken, any chance you can re-upload?

OH, whats the technique from 34 seconds to 37 seconds called? It sounds amazing.
Ah, I just responded to your previous comment! But yeah - it's not a specific technique! Singles and doubles. Just in a specific pattern, which I specified further down!
Fantastic Cover!
Thank you, Ben!
Wow great cover!!
Hey thanks a lot!

Did you check out the transcription?
Maximiliam Andersson yeah i sort used it to write a short chart out ☺
Awesome!
Awesome man!
Diego! Thanks!
whats the technique at 34 seconds called? sounds great.
The technique isn't called anything specific! It's just singles and doubles.
R/K-(L)-(L)-K-R/L---
Is the sticking pattern.
Awesome! One Song that will be great see you playing is "Things I Can´t Change" from The Story so Far. Great cover! Greetings from Brazil.
Thanks! I'll definitely consider it!
cool cover dude
Thanks a bunch!
Awesome cover! What Meinls are you using?
Hey thanks Ben! They're Byzance's Extra Dry and Extra Dry Dual, 15", 19", 20" and 22"!
awesome, your drum sound is great :D
Glad you think so, Jan! Thanks!
Hey Max, just re watching this video, I was wondering if you would consider covering 6/8. If I think about whose cover I want to watch, it is definitely yours. Hope you take it into consideration. Thanks!
Haha, thank you so much for the kind words, Gustavo! Perhaps it's time for the 6/8 once I get a studio set up!
Mate, could you tell me what crash and ride cymbal you are using?
Sure thing! They're all from the Meinl Byzance series. Hats and Ride are Extra Dry Duals, 15" and 22", and the crashes are Extra Dry, 19" and 20".
Nicely done! Cheers.
Do you use slide technique for those double bass hits? or something else?
I play in heel-up position with a heel-down technique generally, but for doubles I use something similar to how I play the hi-hat. The half-moeller as some call it. Basically I play one note while lifting the foot, and the second when moving the foot down. Makes sense? I personally never got much control over the slide when trying to fit it into different tempos, but this technique just adapts into all situations for me.
Nailed it!
Awesome Max!!!
Thank you, Kevin!
Very welcome buddy!
Good job bro!!🔥
Thanks, my man!
You never disappoint... :)
Awesome to hear :) Thank you!
SICK!!!
Thanks a ton!
Wow Perfect !

Thanks a lot, Mark!
Stunning as always dude. You take speed right before this yea? ;)
Thanks buddy! Well - I definitely work on the speed :-)
That D Beat Rythm is simply magnifique
I love it! Dangerous at high speeds when it's possible to flip the groove around though haha!
Wow so perfect! :)
Hey thanks a lot, Eduardo!
Awesome cover! Great energy! Rock on! ;)
Thanks a lot buddy! For sure!
Sick play
Thanks, Juan!
Question; what is the process you take when learning a new song? Loved the cover, AMAZING skill.
Very nice bro!
Hey thanks Maury :)
AWESOME cover! Ahhhhh^^^
Haha! I messed up... ;)
Waggy, thanks a bunch man. I probably won't be doing whole-song tutorials/lessons, but for the standard punk beat and its variations, sure thing! :)
Great suggestion for sure! Thank you!
Did you use a double kick pedal in this song?
Never! Travis never used one, so that would be kind of cheating it :-)
Very good
Thank you!
mah gawd, you rock m8
Oh wow, thanks!
¡woow! ¡Excelente!
Thanks, Manzana!
¡Saludos desde México!
the fps are strong in this one!
Haha!
Good job!
Thanks, buddy!
can you please please please play the boy who destroyed the world by AFI?? you fucking rock man and i cant find a decent drum cover greetings from chile
That would be a perfect song for a full-band cover, because the original is so very punk and raw and just all-out energy, ending up in the drums being quite sloppy and out of time (which is perfectly fine within the style!); but it makes it very difficult to record drums on top of drums, hehe :) Such a killer song though!
KILLER!! Very Nice!+👍
Thanks a lot buddy! :)
