I speak Amharic, I’m Ethiopian, and we use “iyya” at the end of words to describe a language for example “ingiliziniyya”. So that was pretty easy for me . I found so many similarities like we say “selam” as hi but the real meaning is peace. Also, name in Amharic is “sim” which is so close to “ism” in Arabic. Arabic is truly a beautiful language! This is what I learned today: Marhaban, ismee Nahum. Ana min Amreka, ana ithhyubiyya! Umree 14 sana!

This style, I think, is the normal speaking styles of the people of Palestine, Syria, Lebanon etc.
I love this style, or dialect, very much.
But, when I found you saying that you can read and understand Qur'aan this way is not cent percent correct.
Of course you may be able to read Qur'aan; not to recite.
In order to learn Qur'aan, my humble request is, to learn the literal Arabic language (لغة فصحة).
I think this is the most beautiful and most eloquent Arabic language (لسان قريش). Much higher in every aspect than the Standard Arabic even.

Q: What type of gesture(s) should one use, if any, when introducing oneself to another male? (Specifically, Saudi) I never know what to do with my hands and feel rather awkward. BTW, your channel is brilliant! I recently went to Jeddah, KSA, on business. Though I had never spoken a word of Arabic in my life, after watching your videos for only a few hours I was able to make a good impression on my Saudi hosts. I mean, Arabic is one of the most difficult languages . It might be the most difficult language in the world, so If you wanna learn it, you should go to an Arabic country so that you can learn and understand Arabic people. you know , I'm from Arabic country , and we all speak slang languages. we we don't understand a word in Arabic. and, each country has a slang language so I recommend going to an Arabic country in order to learn it quickly. 🔔🌸💙

Just a correction - As-salamalikum does not mean "Hi" ...it means Peace be upon you"
M S actually you can use them interchangeable...depending how you know the person...as-salamalikum is peace be upon you, but you can use it as a greeting (not hello, but still a greeting)
She actually mentioned in the video that she will not go over the literal meaning as she went over it in one of her previous videos, and the purpose of this video is mainly just to learn to introduce yourself.

I love that you're teaching standard arabic.it really confusing when i watch arabic pod 101 because they're teaching arabic with egyp dialect.
Egyptian dialect is the most understood dialect in the Arab world 🌎 it's the dialect you need to learn to communicate with all Arab people, however Msa is so important if you wanna learn how to read and write in Arabic ..

Am Kenyan citizen currently in Saudi Arabia, am eager to learn Arabic language because I have problem in communicating with people here, I see this is an opportunity to learn Arabic. Some words are familiar with our Swahili language like sita (6), Saba (7) and marhaban only pronounced marhaba.
