Can I change my old headunit from my i8 to the latest model headunit ?!

Is it possible to download and install the latest software for my MINI ? I have a 2019 JCW Mini and not the new software just the previous version with carplay
It is possible, but it requires flashing the headunit which is quite involved. Sometimes its easier to just send us the head unit to get flashed, although if you have a good internet connection, we can do it on your car.

We actually never tried it, but I believe you can
Did you guys leave the cd player in there or did the final system remove the cd player? I’m thinking about the X6 but want to buy a used car and then update the entertainment system to save some $ vs buying a brand new car. I don’t want the CD player slot since it looks outdated and I don’t really use cds in the car anymore
Yeah the new system we retrofitted still had a cd player slot. You may be able to get a row of buttons that removes the cd player slot if you want.

Unfortunately not. It does have android mirror link but that’s not nearly as good

2021 BMW Infotainment System????? Misinformation/Click-Bait
That radio is a NBTevo iDrive 5/6 from a 2017 F30, nowhere near 2021.
Figured I would clear out the misinformation in this video.
This isn’t the latest iDrive System, this is a NBTevo iDrive 5/6 unit, the latest version now is iDrive 8.
In the video you retrofit a Europe NBTevo iDrive 5/6 radio into a USA/Canada vehicle, you won’t be able to use Sirius XM or onboard BMW Navigation doing this.
Your radio doesn’t have Sirius XM or GPS ports on the back of the radio.
The cables you stuffed behind the radio were your Sirius XM (lost) , GPS (lost), USB.
We upgraded this 2 series using the NBTevo infotainment system from the 2021 model year.
I believe the last year the F22 was produced was 2021 according to car and driver.
We used the Europe as it was the cheapest we could find and use CarPlay so Sirius xm and gps did not matter.

After That - Navi Update, And much other things not Work any more, dont do this, buy a New BMW is much better
Everything works as before with new features added! The Navigation didn’t work as we did not add the gps cable. we just use CarPlay for navigation
@@carcreationsyt okay, but a when you will install a New MapUpdate 2022-01 it does work anymore from BMW Online Store because banned, every BMW has his on Serial Number from Headunit and the Onilne Services doesn’t work anymore? Right?
Yeah buying a new bmw because the gps is out dated is so practical right. And who the hell uses bmw maps anyways. Everything that’s needs to work with the upgrade works.

@@emanuelV8 You can still update the maps and as for the online services, they do still work and will work for longer as the old unit has 3G which is being decommissioned in a few months.
