    I like the small size and after having some stolen this will do well. 13,000 pics is mre than enough. I just ordered the micro 42.

    Thanks for a great video on this trail camera. I've already bought one and waiting for it to be shipped to my house. The main reason I got the camera was because of the size as well as the number of batteries it uses. I wasn't looking for a National Geographic quality picture, I will be happy with a picture as long as you can tell what the subject is. Last one and only trail cam I had was a Stealth Cam. It ate DD batteries in a very short time. The digital information display took a dump the 2nd time I used it. Thanks again for sharing

      Hey nmsidewinder! Thank you for checking out my channel! I’m happy with my micro 42… although I’m actually using it for 15 second video clips at the moment, the battery is holding up really well! Best of luck this season 👍🏻

      I just got mine delivered a day ago. I have been testing it (photos only so far). I noticed one thing that bothered me, as soon as I took it out and looked at it and I noticed something that didn't look right. There is a IR lens filter that moves over the camera lens for taking daylight pictures. What was strange is that it was only half over the lens. I tapped the side of the camera and it disappeared, when I tapped the other side of the camera it came back covering the lens as it should have. My point is, this IR filter flops back and forth with camera off, seems like something is broken.
      The tests I have run taking photos during daytime and at night turn out just fine. I sent an email to tech support asking them about it. It's the weekend so I won't hear from them until Monday at the earliest.
      Does your camera do this?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nmsidewinder it actually does do this and I thought it was odd as well, but I never had any issues with photos or videos. I thought maybe it was just the particular camera I had, but it seems like it might be the norm. Thanks for the info! I actually forgot all about that until you mentioned it.

      Hey thanks for watching. I have tons of reviews on trail cams. I actually left this one at my father-in-laws property for a year (will get it this November) due to the great battery life. I’m looking forward to seeing how it made out over that time period.

      I believe that’s just the camera ID. So if you had multiple cameras, you’d know camera 3 is the one overlooking your food plot (it should be in the information bar in the photos).

      Hey Pat! Good to hear from you! Thanks for the feedback. You are right about the limited options. I think they tried to make this Micro series simple and easy for people to use. I would imagine some people could get overwhelmed with too many options and LCD screens. Thanks for the input 👍🏻

    I didn't expect much from this cheap Chinese trail camera. Picture quality is not very good. Here are a few things I do not like about the camera. The door is very hard to open and it is not camouflaged like the rest of the camera. Trigger speed is very good but it's too fast. The subject is captured way too early in the frame. And on a three picture burst, the pictures are WAY too close together. The spacing between the pictures should be around a second, not less than a second. On a three picture burst the three pictures appear as one, not three. To get around this I taped over most of the motion sensor to get the subject closer to the middle of the frame. I wish Moultrie would bring back their M-80 trail camera. That was THE best trail camera the Chinese ever made.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Martin, good to hear from you! Thanks for your input! I feel like I’ve read this review before. Did you post this on the Moultrie website or Amazon? I agree with the door not being camouflaged like the rest of the camera, but mine wasn’t difficult to open. I’m ok with the three picture burst especially because of the battery life. The fact that you can get 13,000 pics on one set of 4 batteries is pretty great (in my opinion), so that’s why I selected the 3 photo burst option. With that battery life and a decent sized SD card, you can snap away. Thanks for your input and best of luck this season 👍🏻

    42 megapixels is just marketing hype & nothing else! You could buy a cheap Wosport Mini Trail camera for less money, & have the same basic camera. Ironically, the Wosport is 16 megapixel, and the picture quality is just as good! Go figure? The set up on the two are exactly the same. Moultrie is slapping their name on a cheap product & making a bold megapixel claim to help sell it. There are 12 megapixel cameras from the past that would easily outperform this camera. I saw this camera for $99 in a local store today, and thought what a joke! I am not saying all cheap Chinese cameras are bad. I'm just not going to pay $99 for one. I wouldn't pay more than $39 for a camera like this. This is a very budget level camera. You can convince people this is an ultra great 42 megapixel camera all you want, but there is absolutely nothing special about this camera. It has the same basic minimal functions of most cheap trail cameras (like the Tasco & others). I honestly believe a 12 MP Tasco camera from Walmart takes better pics than this camera. It's cheap products like this one that push me away from brand name cameras. Moultrie had some decent cameras in the past, but this one is nothing more than marketing hype (profit over quality).
