Lol I wonder how many foreigners almost got into a fight in Korea because they just wanted to wave someone torwards them.

the difference is when my mother looks at me and does the gesture she's not meaning "hey, friend! come over here!" but "get your ass over here!"

Haha that beat you up gesture would just be a normal beckoning gesture where I'm from. So I'll have to be careful when I go to Korea.

In Bulgaria, when you shake your head it means yes, and when you nod it means no! It was very confusing for my Bulgarian friend when she came to the UK 😄

A lot of these are the same in the US. Except the finger hearts (obviously). The one you did for money is a curse here I think 😂 but if you do it right side up is means "okay!". The way we use body language for money is by rubbing our thumb together with our other index and middle finger tips (if that makes sense?). And our finger guns are kind of a way of saying "ayeeee".

Rachel... You have a terrific and natural sense of humors. I enjoy the contents and the many helpful comments in your videos. I am not Korean, but I was friends with many Koreans during my time in college in the US. You reminded me of their demeanor and blunt (perhaps too blunt sometimes) reactions. It is clear that you have put in a lot of thoughtful work and efforts into making your channel a success. This is indeed a testament of your love for Korea--your country and of your passion to communicate/connect with others. You are bright, perceptive, discipline and intelligent. More importantly, I like the way you view the world and people. I wish you well on your continued pursuit of this channel, and other things in your life.
PS.: You have good chemistry collaborating with Jina and Terry. You worked well together.

In America, finger guns are for saying “Hey! Hello!” or for when you say a dumb joke. After you tell a dumb joke, you can do finger guns to be sarcastic.
Also, the finger hearts have spread to China, I think. There are stickers in the Chinese app WeChat of the finger heart that my friend sent me. When I told my little sister what it means, she thought it was really clever!

I’m not sure if every American does this or if it’s just a regional thing or even just a district thing but I know when I make promises we do it similarly to how Koreans do but we also kiss our own thumbs and then touch them together. It’s just kind of like a “this promise can never be broken, it’s official for life” type of thing. It’s like an added level of seriousness I guess
