One quick correction, you can't be interrupted when doing finishers but you can be interrupted by heavy attacks during a Gunstrike. When I wrote this script, I was using a perk that makes me immune to being stunned during Gunstrikes on the class I was currently leveling. Apologies, you can invest in immunity from being interrupted during Gunstrikes but it's not default. Thank you.
@r.cdahuman7682 GW's habit of virtue signaling to distract from their very predatory business practices. For instance, the near constant changes to the rules to keep people paying for the next three products in order to play in an official tournament. Their legal attacks on fan projects. @@Nomad-md2wi I don't really see the virtue signalling, but yeah the rest is wild. Just to be clear I wasn't saying he is a good company or anything, I was just looking for examples. I had assumed they were talking about something like the female custodes debate.

True Vanguard covering Space Marine 2!!! Result!!! I’m not played D2 for a few years - but will be jumping into SM2 today. Loved your D2 coverage and capabilities - thrilled you’re covering SM2.
@michaelblake3320 It was borderline impossible. Stop to fight a tyrranid and the ai just stands and watches the swarm pile into the reactor. If I'd done it, it would have been pure luck. I love hard games, but I like hard and FAIR. You can see how the set pieces are designed for co-op. Especially the chain defence ones.
Not sure if it's a bug or if your statement is off, but doing the bolt shot counters isn't invulnerable. I get attacked and interrupted from bolt counters on a regular basis throughout an op. Hope it's a bug. If it's not you should probably not tell people that.
Thanks for the motivational speech at the end regarding just being patient and slowly building muscle memory and skill over time. I'm struggling to feel any flow or effectiveness in combat starting out. Hoping I can start to figure out the parry/dodge dynamics, when to use which, switching from melee to ranged, etc. Definitely a learning curve here..
Far and away the most actually helpful video on combat tips. The gameplay is surprisingly hard and nuanced and I've been struggling on veteran. You're fucking awesome for highlighting the spawn sound cue, I never noticed that but that's huge. Also the fact that parry can interrupt melee animations, because there are other animations that do actively block your parry but the fact that melee isn't one of them means you are rewarded for standing your ground and attacking into enemies
1:10 I don't know if that's true in operations, but in campaign you are absolutely not invulnerable during gun strikes, only perfect parries and executes. It is odd though, it seems like you should be invulnerable during the gun strike
Parries and gunstrikes can make the little enemies back off for a time - so if you parry one warrior in a Pack and take the gunstrike the other enemies usually give you space
Also spam heavy attaks on minoris to proc a killing gun strike. This gives you an easy 1 shield off a minoris. And contested health perks on melee weapons are king. Usually up to 100% extra health. When you are deep in minoris, this keeps you alive until the fight js over.
@@MobbBeast lol, if you try to parry with heavy, then maybe. Sniper, vanguard, assault and bulwark can easily just stand it the middle of a horde and parry everything, unless there is a lot of ranged fire, but that's rather obvious.
Take damage, 1min of not taking damage, doesn't matter if it's in combat. So you could roll and kite away from a member and let them heal that way. I would add, utilize the dodge and strike attack. You can roll away from a group and jump back to them and put one in a gun shot moment. Then just do it again, they get knocked back and you can control their flow while getting armor bars back.
This had some good nuggets of knowledge that I'll have to look in to after work. I've found my biggest issue has been constantly being hounded by ranged units when locked in melee, or the other way around - getting smacked while trying to shoot the ranged enemies. So far I've only played Tactical in Operations and find myself locked in a mob of smaller enemies more often than I'd like, or dumping an entire magazine in to a Chaos Marine's head at times only for it to not even be executable. It has been quite annoying at times to put it lightly, as this usually results in me having either no HP to speak of, or dying out-right. Personally I wish that either stims healed you fully, or that executions gave you a small bit of hp back regardless of the white hp bar, similar to the first game. Because once that white hp bar is gone you don't heal at all from executions. Entering melee feels more like it becomes a death sentence at that point if, despite your best efforts, nothing gets stunned or primed for a gun strike. Something I've had happen almost every single time as many smaller enemies will just die from a single hit, meaning I must duel a larger tankier foe for that chance. Even then after succeeding, a random small enemy will hit me and take away the armor charge I just got, followed by getting downed or killed by a ranged enemy waiting to take that last bit of HP I had. Its rough.
I’d say an edit to number one is to know when to fight and retreat. As someone that has played heavy but out of ammo as I’m running around looking for more ammo trying to avoid damage and dodge to get gunshots as I am retreating.
Thank you for ACTUAL tips on the the game. If you go compare this to the IGN tips and tricks video and it will amaze you at how lazy they are. They basically just explain the tutorial to you.
