- UPDATE: Since I've uploaded this video I keep getting many requests for help. I am more than happy to help those in needs but some times, due to software/hardware configuration, it takes hours via TeamViewer, and few times even in more sessions because people keep screwing things up. This is a tutorial on how to set up a basic system for a radio show using Voice Meeter Banana with RadioDJ, a microphone and Skype (for guests). The program (your show) can then be sent to your Internet audience through Altacast radio station server (I use IceCast on my dedicated server).
Voice Meeter Banana is the central central nervous system of any audio system setup.
1) VMB is a VIRTUAL mixer, not a real mixer board so anything that happens in VMB is purely virtual.
2) What VMB calls Hardware Inputs are in realty Virtual Inputs for HARDWARE DEVICES. Same goes for the Outputs.
3) ALL Input and Output ports are, in reality, ALL VIRTUAL Input and Output ports dedicated to either HARDWARE or VIRTUAL devices.
4) Imagine what VMB calls "Hardware Input 1, 2 and 3" as "Hardware Devices IN 1, 2 and 3" and imagine "Virtual Inputs" as "Virtual Devices IN"

DO NOT use the VoiceMeeter Input (virtual input) for any virtual device, especially for RadioDJ. Use the Virtual Cable to "plug" RadioDJ to a HARDWARE INPUT port. If you use the Voicemeeter input as port for your virtual devices (like RadioDJ), then any sound (including windows notification sounds) will be output to your program which is what you send to your internet audience or what you record. Keep the Voicemeeter Input port only for your headphones (unless you intentionally want to send desktop audio to your program, like the audio from a youtube video or from a podcast, for instance.).
Just for the sake of GUI intuitive rules... the outputs A1, A2 and A3 shuold be called H1, H2 and H3 (as in Hardware), while B! and B2 should be called V1 and V2 (as in Virtual)

Two people , two headsets one computer, how to set up Voicemeeter I wouldn´t hear own voice, only friend´s voice and we should hear each other? I am using basic version. now virtual input A is selected so I can hear the youtube video and also my voice what I don`t want to hear and my mic input I have selected A selection ,otherwise there is no output for the my and friend´s voice for the video editing software. How I get rid of my own voice and still get it through output to video editor? Do I need Banana version for it and what is set up for it?

Well this video is incorrect. Following verbatim VoiceMeeter still puts RadioDJ into virtual 1 (Desktop). Even when the hardware is changed in A2 and using the VB-Cable input inside RDJ. The version of RDJ should not matter as this is all about input and output routing.
Skype will feed back if you don't keep b2 unchecked

Altacast is no longer a reliable encoder. It forgets the encoder password, constantly drops the connection to the streaming server (ShoutCast in my case), and it's no longer supported as a plugin for RadioDJ. In fact RadioDJ's forum members have said to use an alternative encoder. butt (broadcast using this tool) is probably the best free encoder for streaming audio with RadioDJ.
What output did you use in A1 at the top. I see that almost everyone is missing that to speak about. How do you set it up.

Awesome Video instruction The best I have seen so far Thank you. I just cannot get the MP3 Lame option in the Altacast encoder option . The reason be My internet server dont use Ice Cast it only use MP3 Lame to connect

No. You need to remove it from RadioDJ and connect it to VoiceMeeter
i did most of what you said. sadly i coudlnt get my mic to be recognized or the altcast to work with VM you did a good job and it made since but i feel perhaps im missing a step
I suppose you are sure 100% you mic works because you have tested it without VMB. Correct?

Hi, one question, i can not lower the music and keep the mic when broadcasting, in Altacast i don't have the option to select the mic like the little window you have, could you tell how do you do it?
You don't need to touch altacast while broacasting. You need to have RadioDJ on a fader (2 or 3) and set "CABLE input" in RadioDJ Audio Card options.
RadioDJ always complains when I use the Virtual Cable.....how did you get it to work?

Hey, great tutorial! I taken this all on board for my new DJ set up but having the following issues:
1) I don't have a VoiceMeeter AUX Input option for Skype.
I only have Speakers (High Def Audio), Speakers (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter AUX VAIO), Cable Input, Speakers (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO)...which one should I be using?
2) This may be something to do with issue 1, but when I use Skype, suddenly all the volume goes very low and then when I discconect the call, the mics are hissing and set to maximum volume. I have all the options of Automatically Adjust Microphone Volume switched off too.
3) My Radio DJ output sounds very tinny. Tested it live online and it sounds awful :/ What could this be?

Gabriele Cripezzi yeah I noticed you were using the full version as opposed to the radiodj plugin. it's taken a while but I've figured out all the input outputs
One of the best tutorials I could see. Give me an idea to experiment, because Idon't use altacast, I use Mixxx but could be that with thhese advices I can do the work
