Fantastic, Kevin!! I feel like the both of them are part of a future dessert tasting menu flight with drink pairing. And that has me asking ... which drink goes next?!
I could really see the infused Rum shine in a East India Negroni, giving you a flavour profile almost reminiscent of black forest cherry tart by combining the rasiny stonefruit-Notes of the Sherry and the bitter-sweet citrus aroma of Campari with the darkness and warmth of Rum and chocolate notes.
you inspire me, i started making cocktails to have a more positive relationship with alcohol as opposed to just getting drunk. having to construct drinks as a way to try new flavors really changed my whole perspective on alcohol. you’re the best!
I tried the coconut rum recipe with overproof rum today and it worked out wonderfully. I wondered what to do with the coconut flakes and the fat not wanting to throw it away. And while your idea with the fat covered ice cubes is great it was just too much fat for too many ice cubes. So I made brownies with it instead. Turned out coconut flakes dipped in rum really make the brownies full of rum flavour. Thanks for the yummy inspiration. 😋
Kevin!! This gorgeous chocolate brownie-infused rum Manhattan looks like absolute perfection!! I cannot wait to make this myself and I am definitely going to! I adore Manhattans and I want to try this riff with this fabulous rum that you chose! The recipe for the brownie syrup is straight forward and I am excited to try this!! Thanks so much!! What could be better than a chocolate brownie-infused rum Manhattan, right?!! That donut infused Old Fashioned was also spectacular!! Cheers Kevin!! Have a fab weekend!! 🙂
As I used to bartend, watching your videos now makes me wanna go back behind the stick. I'm loving your videos and all techniques used .Kudos to the entire team 👌
I used to mix up what I can an Irish Coffee Old fashioned. Think the measurements I used were 2oz Jameson and Mr Black, stirred over ice. Then I took my rocks glass and add in three or however many dashes I was feeling that night, of Angostura Chocolate. I'd basically wash the glass with it at this point, swirling it around until there was none or minimal left before I put in a new cube and poured the drink over. Considering how close an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan are, as well the interchangeability of rum and whiskey, I could see doing a brownie old fashioned with maybe Peychaud's or even Ango Orange, as orange and chcolate play nice together. However, I feel one could even go a bit on the fiery side with Bittermen's Hellfire or any chili pepper bitter.
Absolutely genius! Have you ever done a cocktail competition to get your watchers more engaged in the channel? A zero waste cocktail + garnish challenge would be a cool idea.
Realised I had some of this brownie rum left over, and I've been on a bit of a milk punch trip of late, so I made a clarified orange and chocolate drink with it (working title is 'Chocwork Orange'). I used brownie rum, white creme de cacao (which I also learned how to make here), Cointreau, and some vodka for the base, then a 6% citric acid solution and milk to clarify. Quite happy with the result, but might try a few tweaks for the next batch. Except this time, I'll also be baking my own brownies ;)
Definitivly I need to try it, looks delicious and it's something never entered in my mind! And Kevin, quick question, do you have a papaw cocktail? It's my favorite fruit but I have no idea how to integrate it in a cocktail. All my attempts look terrible haha. I love your channel. Thanks!
When pawpaws are in season and I end up with a ton of them, I make daiquiris with them. I just wash, peel the fruit, throw everything into the shaker with the lime juice, rum and simple syrup, shake it aggressively to get the pawpaw juiced up, and make sure to double strain! You could probably try juicing the pawpaw separately, but with all the seeds and the low yield of juice, that sounds like a huge hassle to me!
Wow Very impressed Kevin..really nice, I love making infusions with fruits, but I've never done it with cakes and desserts..beautiful Job, respect!! You're Jobs are awesome Kevin, Best Wishes for you from Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, Costa Rica!!!
There is a technique for milk-washing that involves powdered milk instead of liquid milk that also works really well with powdered coconut milk. The upside to this technique is that it doesn’t require any acid to induce curdling.
Speaking of questions that nobody asked…how would this recipe hold up if you added THC and/or CBD to the brownies before extraction 🤔 I’m curious to try now and will report back with results 😂
I've heard it posited by my dad (who was himself a bartender for several years) that a "Rum Manhattan" can't really call itself a Manhattan because it's supposed to be made with whiskey. And instead should be called something that would more fit the rum. One such example he gave was calling it the "Havana" or the "Jamaica".
I don't have some ingredient to make homemade orange bitters. Can I use store bought orange bitters to make the Manhattan Cocktail With A Chocolate Brownie Twist?
I didn't see many name suggestions. Since it's a Manhattan with brownie and stonefruit, how about a Manhattan Brownstone.. I think we're done here. I've the channel btw.
Back in February, I created a banana bread old fashioned for my bar. On a whim one day at home, I created a banana syrup using overripe bananas I had and coconut sugar. The syrup tasted EXACTLY like banana bread. To really nail the flavor, I infused bourbon with some perfectly ripened bananas and added a few drops of black walnut bitters. While it didn’t require buzzing a loaf of banana bread with bourbon and clarifying it, the resulting drink was spot on flavor-wise, and it’s become a mainstay at my bar.
I really hate to get lost in the procedure, just because i don't understand what you are saying. What was the problem with the first filter? And what did you to solve the problem? Pls speak a bit slower. I really like your dedication to the mixology, and you make great content, but not everyone is from USA or UK.

Each day we are getting closer to a Beef Wellington cocktail 😂
Haha, I am not sure about that one 🤣
Well, in Russia we serve bull shot))

The rum Manhattan was published in 1930 in the Savoy Cocktail Book as the Palmetto. It's a very overlooked classic.
Intresting idea! Now we need some cocktail-flavoured brownies to pair with our brownies-flavoured cocktails ;)
Indeed 😃🥂
Keen for a negroni brownie

I would try with this infused rum a Brownie Dominicana🤗 Some twist with a floating cream too, maybe some salty caramel flavour or pistacchio😍
This sounds delicious! Thank you for sharing! 🥂

What would you recommend as a substitute to La Hechicera Rum? Unfortunately no where around has it for me?
Do you have access to Dictador or Parce? Both are Colombian rums too!
Don Q Signature 2005, if you can find it. It's also much more affordable
Makes me want to try making a macaron based drink after I'm done with the lilac one I'm making now.
I made a similar one last year for Valentine's. Check it out 😉🥂

Do you have a recipe for home made Maraschino Cherrys? Ive always struggled to find a good one... As always great cocktail =)
I do, but I still must "polish" it before sharing it.
Cool thx for the reply. I hope, you manage to share before cherry season ends =)
Amazing. Is there any plant milk that would be able to replace the regular milk tho?

If you simmer the milk mixture for a few minutes then add the acid the milk will not curdle.
Hey guys what about making cocktails to pair with miracle berry and sichuan peppercorn? It would be really interesting.
This Manhattan will definitely earn you some brownie points 😉
How much citric acid solution should I add when making brownish rum 10x larger?
10 times more solution.
hello could you show how to make chocalte bitters

How well do you think this concept would work with, say, banana bread?
It sounds great. I think it should work well.

I don't think I would have enough self-control to not eat the brownie.
It was so good 🥂

You could have stopped at the "Add the chocolate brownie/rum mixture to the hot milk", and just served that to me.
Cheers! 😃🥂
I was wondering if you know any good books on how to properly behave and dress as a gentleman.
If you need your cocktail to taste like dessert you need to reevaluate your drinking philosophy…
