I have a high level of appreciation for this. Rum and coke to me has always been a drink with large and obvious potential, but is usually served as two ingredients mixed unproportionately in a plastic cup and tastes horrible that way.
This man is a treasure. The aesthetic is 10/10. Sophisticated (the wardrobe and the mustache... my GOD!) and intelligent (the accent adds at least 10 IQ points, plus he never says dumb stuff), yet comfortable enough in his own skin that as a viewer one never feels put down or senses pretention coming from him... even though I will probably never own a sous-vide or one of those foamy canister thing-a-ma-jigs. I'm still catching up on the back catalog, but I can tell that every upload from this channel is going to be a real treat. Keep up the great work.
Jeffrey, thank you! Your lovely comment made my day! I am glad that you like everything about this channel. If you are ever in Maribor, Slovenia, you have a cocktail on me, my friend!
"Oh nice, a twist on rum and coke" *Video makes me realize I need hours and hundreds of dollars in gear and ingredients to make it happen* Back to mixing rum and coke.
Technique for the foam is really cool. I’ve never tried it personally, but I really like your approach of this cocktail. Interested in trying it out for myself. Cheers guys, great video as always
Since I'm a mixologist who was born in the Dominican Republic, I always try to create new stuff with Dominican rum, but this one, it's outstanding, you gain a new follower, cheers and thank you
I thought I knew all of the good cocktail channels on TH-cam but I was missing one great one. This video showed up in my recommends and I'm glad it did! Nice quality productions and interesting cocktail as well. I'd like to give this one a try! Looking forward to more videos!
The creativity of your cocktails has me very interested. I've only just begun my bartending journey 2 years ago. I literally had my first official bartending shift the day we had to go lock down in my city! I would love to learn from a master such as yourself. Keep making videos!! Thankyou for expanding my understanding of what bartending can be!
I finally made this cocktail after a long time of anticipation, I gottta say the best part was making the cola foam, it was fun and very tasty. I think I'll be trying it with a different rum next time though. Unfortunately I feel like the brugal didnt mix as well as Id like with the rest of the cocktail. Thanks for this great recipe Kevin!
I am sooo happy I was navigated to this page. I don’t like cocktails, they usually hide the work put into a quality spirit. The history and intention given here changed my mind I am very eager to watch more. Thank you
Great cola foam! If you like to do the foam consistent last a bit longer, you could add a little egg yogg with syrup mix to pressurized with colagelatine!😊👍
Thanks so much for sharing and keeping us all entertained. I always love the presentation really appreciate the little twists you and others share with us to help improve or just try out new techniques on classic cocktails. Much appreciated.
Great work Kevin! Good luck with the competition! I can't wait for my whipper and sous vide to arrive so I can try this. Keep up the great work with the videos they are excellent and deserve so much more views.
Always impressed with the amazing videos you and your team put out. I'll definitely be putting these tips to use as soon as I can once competitions are more abundant. Also can't wait to try this at home
Wow. I saw the video title and thought, "ok, so a simple drink." You truly took this to the next level. If TH-cam allowed multiple thumbs ups, I would given like 10. Lol. Bravo!
I am going through your back catalogue after getting back into cocktails and finding my new favourite cocktail channel! May I ask where that conical jigger is from? I can’t find it anywhere - they all seam to be banded where the seam would be.
Seems pretty good. Unfortunate that I can't find all ingredients where I live. But it must be a very beautiful cocktail to look too if served in a transparent cup.
Well thank you, this really means a lot! I know some of the techniques might not be for everyone, but I'm glad I could inspire you to try something new! Make sure to let me know how you'll like the cocktails!
Gelatine sheet work as a stabilator similar to egg white, agar-agar, xantan, aquafaba, or soy lecithin. You can get foam from all of these ingredients but the most often that we use is egg white which wouldn't taste well in this case. Thank you!
Skimming I didn’t see this question asked; apologies if it’s a duplicate. For a non animal-based equivalent could you substitute powdered agar agar for the gelatin sheets in the foam? Or eggshell membrane collagen powder perhaps if going for a vegetarian but not strictly vegan sort of standard? Or would you recommend something else for a non animal based, or at least non animal flesh based alternative?
Hey Kev, tried this recipe and need some advice, my coke foam leaves a flat cola after taste, what can I do to change that lingering flavor? Tastes like old soda, used fresh soda and added air to dissolve the fizz before sous vide, any ideas?
I just have to ask: what kind of wax do you use for your mustache? Do you use a semi-pliable wax or something really firm that has to be melted when you apply it? What tips do you have for daily grooming? I think there is potential for you to make a special mustache episode. My wife wants me to grow out my mustache but grooming it is so labor intensive and frustrating that I kind of don't want to do it. What's your advice? Cheers from Seattle USA!
I am using the 'Brothers Love mustache wax. It came in a tube and it's a wax you can easily apply. My daily grooming is washing with a special soap and brushing. Trimming is on the schedule every now and then. It's not that hard once you get used to it. Like everything else in life, the beginnings are a bit harder but after you get some results it's all good. Thanks for the idea about the episode 😉
Hi Kevin. Jerzy from Poland here. First of all thank you for your videos, they have inspired me to make awesome cocktails. I have a question. Can you use SodaStream to infuze as you used the whipper in this video.
Tried to do the recipe (just plain cola, without adding anything except the gelatin in powder and without cooking it) and for some reason (even when using 2 N2O catridges) it came out like too gassy and not foamy (lack consistency and body). What I am doing wrong? :S
Is there a way to do the coke foam without a sous vide? I mean, I understand it would be better with it, but is there a “good enough” version of the coke foam?
I hope you can help me. I’m hosting a cocktail party Saturday and I have plans to make this cocktail but I don’t know if the recipe for the Coca-Cola foam is enough for six people. Do you know with the recipe you listed how many cocktails there is in the foam hope to hear from you. Thanks.
the way ya pronounced cream whipper sounded like grim reaper, so now i have the phrase Cream Reaper stuck in my head & that sound like it would be a great name for a cocktail no idea what would be in it tho
If you could find the original written recipe for one cocktail, which would you want it to be?
It would be cool to see who was the first to mix up an Old Fashioned! 😎
Piña colada!
This is a tough one, but I would say "Air Mail"!
The Mai Tai!
Virgin Cuba Libre
I'm always fascinated by how you can turn something so simple into a beautifully complex experience. Kudos to you and your great team!
Thank you very much, Vino! We will try fascinating you further. Cheers!

Thank you. I am glad that you like it. Let me know how it turned out in your cocktails. Cheers!
I've seen other channels tackle "Rum & Coke but better" before, but you've definitely taken it to the next level. This sounds awesome!
Yes it's a simple drink but you can still use more difficult techniques to make it different or even better. And I am glad that you like mine. Thanks!
Agreed! This is a game changer!

The bloopers are so fun! Love this video
Glad you enjoyed!
WOW! Very impressive drink compilation, especially that vacuum packed ice bath!
Thanks. I love to use Sous-vide for my creations. It's a great tool for making all kinds of ingredients.
Youre always so poised! Love the bloopers! As well as the whole process, recipe, and video. :) Thank you!
Thanks so much! 😊
That creamy foam looks sooo yummy! Love how the story ties everything together!
Thank you! You tied this episode together perfectly! Great job 🥂

Thank you. Kind regards to Brazil! Cheers 🥃
Love the bloopers xD and the cocktail, of course!!
As a resident of Atlanta, may I just say your pronunciation at 6:12 is absolutely delightful.
Another great one, Kevin!
Thank you Josh! Cheers!

Thank you so much, I'm glad my video showed you the beauty of making cocktails in a way to elevate thre ingredients, not mask them. Cheers, my friend!
I love this channel. everything is so extra and Kevin Kos is a total beast behind the bar.
Thank you!

I saw the title card "pro rum and coke" and scoffed. But im glad i clicked anyway this is genius. Instant subscribe.
Wow the quality of this video was crazy, channel definitely needs more recognition! Thanks recommended.
Thank you!
Before I start getting orders - I’m just the carrier, not the creator of these wonderful mugs. But they fit really nice in your hand, I must say.
Looks amazing.
The production on this video is absolutely top notch too!
This video is amazing for so many reasons
No idea why I was recommended this video. No regrets watching your drink being made til the end.
2 seconds in and I instantly hit that subscribe button.
Looks amazing as always Kevin! Well done! Cheers!

Another wonderful video! You've convinced me time to invest in a whipper.
Cheers!

I'm by no means a cocktail drinker but man , ur presentation, charisma 👌🏼🤯😍🤤I'm gonna try it.
Made this but with lychee wood it was really good. Thanks for the recipe
It doesn't happen often, but I am speechless! 🏆 Cheers!

Mind officially BLOWN!
Well you are a true inspiration. High performance as always.
I appreciate that!
i'd love to try that, looks great very unique

Same. Such a pleasant surprise !
Kevin, II really enjoyed this well done! I like what you did to get all of the favors and the presentation just so!!
I appreciate that, David! Thank you!
omg. Your videos are wonderful...Thanks you for sharing your recipes with us!! I will toast for you, kevin!
Thank you so much! I am so happy that you found it interesting. Cheers!
Beautiful presentation.
On par with How To Drink
Hi, thank you for you work, it's very inspiring! I was wondering if it's possible to use agar agar insted of gelatin, to make it vegan.
Thanks, Kevin
You are welcome! Thank you Gary!
Sir….i should NOT have watched your video. As a lover for rum and coca cola, this cocktail will be the death be! Lol. Excellent video!
Wow what an amazing idea and perfect execution!
Thank you very much! Cheers 🥂
That’s crazy, seems delicous
Brate ti si bog!!! Svaka ti cast za koktele!!
Hvala ti!
I am going through your back catalogue after getting back into cocktails and finding my new favourite cocktail channel!
May I ask where that conical jigger is from? I can’t find it anywhere - they all seam to be banded where the seam would be.
man this is the quintessential unnecessarily over hipsterized cocktail channel.
Thx for the awesome video!
Since I can get Coca Cola Woody Mixer, can I use 300 ml of it instead with just the gelatine step to make my foam?
Kevin, I would love to know where you get those ice tongs/forceps. I don’t see them on your bar tools link. Thanks!
Very curious what brand is that cherry bitter???
Fantastic video. Thank you
Beautiful recipe, ill try it asap

Woaaw amazing video 👍
Just found your channel and fell in love with your content right away 🙏
Thank you so much, Filippo, I really appriciate you saying that!
Who said Coca Cola can't be used to create a good cocktail. Wonderful touch.
True. You can also make wonderful cocktails with Coca Cola in different forms. Thank you!
This is bananas, I love it!
Thanks, Scrattatat, it means a lot and I'm glad you like it!
Also looking through your other recipe videos, they're fantastic - great inspiration to make more interesting beverages.
Well thank you, this really means a lot! I know some of the techniques might not be for everyone, but I'm glad I could inspire you to try something new! Make sure to let me know how you'll like the cocktails!
Right?! I'm think of an elevate Long Island or something like that with that foam!
Wow this is awesome. Great work!
Thanks a lot!
Another amazing recipe and video 🙂
Thank you so much 😊
Mind swimming with ideas of what to do with that foam!
Great channel mate! Keep it up!!!
Thanks a lot! Cheers!
Why do you sous vide the cola? Is it to remove all carbonation?
Great video and techqiues as usually. I do have a question. What does the gelatin sheet do for the foam?

What an interesting cocktail. Now looking for a bar who serves it in Amsterdam.
Thanks, Niels! That might be a tricky one, but let me know if you find it! 😃 You can always make it yourself!😉
I wish we could've seen the side profile in a clear glass. Bet it would look cool.
this was clean.
i don't understand how you only have 230k views here. This is gold. Maybe doing youtube shorts will get you the subs you deserve?
The views will come 🤞🤞 Thank you for watching this episode and leaving a comment. Cheers!
Four hours is a long time with that foam but looks incredible
BRAVO .. BRAVO !!!!!
Really want to try this, but don't have a sous vide - any recommendations on how to approximate it?
Since it's not a liqueur or alcohol infusion, you can do it on low heat in a pot with closed lid.
Is it ok to make the foam without putting the gelatin?great recipe btw.
Next level! How long does the foam last in fridge, and what else can you use it for?
Beautiful story
Many many thanks
You are awesome! Amazing videos with style! Im impressed! If you are ever in austria i would love to welcome you at my bar! 🙏 big inspiration!
