I think a lot of us just think old roblox is better because of the nostalgia. The things mentioned in the video are true, but it was always bad. Honestly roblox just seemed better in the past because we loved the games we played when we were young and now a lot of them are dead or didn't/couldn't grow up with the audience. Not to mention, a lot of the older content creators we loved have since quit or gotten boring.
Yeah and some of the people who miss the old days are kids who just want to fit in
tbh, some part is nostalgia but man today theres so much bad games like simulators that makes millions for nothing (of course, now its improved and can have awesome games but old roblox had better game ideias in general)

Well... I personally like the roblox in 2016-2019 because of nostalgia when I was a kid.
Not to mention bad actors had much more power back, like exploiters for an example. The introduction of FE really changed it all for the better.

This is what happened in meep city. Online daters would pretend to do the “DIRTY” on a bed in a house, soon beds were removed from the game but still people did the “DIRTY” on the floor, so the beds were added back, also there used to be a tent in the game called parties and you could join people in homes and hang out but people did a lot of bad stuff in the houses so parties was removed
Parties were a really fun feature but the fact that Alex never moderated them truly showed how he only cared about money and waited until he had to be forced to remove it. Ultimately the lack of moderation caused it to be the terrible cesspool it was

The aspect I dislike the most about the current Roblox is the catalog. You brought up some valid points. Although Roblox was and still is a lego game. Don't get me wrong the accessories that came with the UGC program are much more detailed and realistic than old roblox, and provide much more ways to express yourself and your personality. But that defeats the whole point of what roblox used to be.
The old accessories, shirts, and t-shirts brought a more likeable style and uniqueness to Roblox. While the catalog may have had fewer items back then, that was part of its charm. I don't like the direction where Roblox is currently heading, with making everything so realistic. Ever since the public UGC program was introduced, it has essentially ruined what Roblox once was. Items now often lack creativity or are indirect copies of existing items made by Roblox, such as various Dominus accessories or limiteds. This has ruined the trading community as a whole. The exclusivity of these items was an important factor in what made Roblox unique. If anyone can wear these items, then what's the point of trading anymore?
Additionally, with anyone able to create items, it is much harder for Roblox to moderate, making it easier for inappropriate items to be made. Many people like to make items to express their personality, which can be problematic in some instances. For example, online daters previously couldn't create any sexually explicit characters, but now, with endless choices for hair, packages, and t-shirts, they can create sexually appealing avatars that are inappropriate. This is concerning, considering Roblox is intended for kids. Over 80% of Roblox's player base consists of people under the age of 18, with 50% under the age of 13.
While I understand your point about the current catalog being better than the old one, I believe the old catalog was much more unique and overall better coordinated than it is now.

I was there since the very start. All I have to say is you don't miss old roblox you miss being happy. The time of just logging in as a child being beyond clueless about what you are going to do or what is going to come next while playing ROBLOX was something that I think we all took for granted. Now we are all grown up and we already know whats going to happen so it makes ROBLOX feel more boring. I still play every day though. It is my childhood game after all.

The good part of UGC is that it gives people the opportunity to create accessories, and the bad part of UGC is that it gives people the opportunity to create accessories.
This is just like the dislike feature. A lot of people said they were boycotting youtube because of this. What happened? Nothing. Everyone OR most of us just moved on and continue on with youtube. This is similiar for roblox players, they despite what's given today when they know very well (most or a lot of them here) they will come running back to Roblox or never even thought about leaving at all. I know this isn't that relate to this but I'm just putting it out there at least yes.
Old Roblox, New Roblox, don't matter. What matters to me at least is the general experience, the overall experience. Am I having some entertainment? Well, yeah, you can say that. I really do have a lot of interest in here.

Roblox doesn't have any true alternatives either that still capture the freedom yet simplicity you have with the engine and gameplay. From the looks of it though, S&box (not "the sandbox," i'm talking about the gmod successor) might become a mature version of Roblox.

as someone who has played since 2010, you are NEVER going to see adult places on the front page in the modern day compared to the past, as i literally saw a bunch of them appear on the daily if not weekly, along with how degenerate you can be in actual roleplays in the past, the hordes of clickbaits like "SLIDE DOWN 99999FT FOR WINNERS" or whatnot which end up being either fire tycoon, some utterly garbage obby or something else entirely.
i seriously just want some actual sandbox tycoons that arent just the same "haha funny mining tycoon" kinda crap, theme park tycoon 2 is pretty alright, lumber tycoon 2 is okay albeit highly overrated, food empire is genuinely fun, and if i recall there was one about energy aswell, and it was pretty cool.
also im probably going to get a bunch of infants screaming at me over this, but TTD is nowhere NEAR as bad as alot of the old tower defense games we had back in the day, i can say for certain.

i've been playing roblox since 2013, i agree for the most part.
in terms of the community, less of two evils, new roblox is better. UGC was (for the most part) a good thing and the whole "old games were better" point is wrong for both sides, as they've always had brainrot and always had good games in them.
it's more of a nostalgic feeling, really. that's why a lot of people say old roblox was better, but they moreso mean the games they used to play were better than they are now. which yes, i do believe at least half the games i used to play were better back then (e.g. tradelands).
the only things i'd want from old roblox would be the old leaderboard, tickets, and actual egg hunts.

Back to what people think of old roblox, i doubt that they ever said that old roblox moderation was good because it never was, if you look up to greenlegocats123 videos you see him criticizing roblox moderation due to their lack of security for quite often a long time by now. "Bullying" First bullying existed in 1530s (or older like B.C) Some old robloxians actually missed the bullying because it gave them more free speech, and others don't, regardless the bullying was not very strong but just silly words for the most time. "Exploiting" it was a thing before to the current days, some exploits were cool and others not so much, i do agree that exploiting was one of the biggest "challenges" that old robloxians had to face it, like a struggle, but unironically some people find it nostalgic because of the Toad exploit and because it was good for trolling ODers and etc. What I mean by all these examples Is what old robloxians don't care about, what they actually mean by "I MISSED OLD ROBLOX" is the graphics, the website UIs, some old good roblox features like the "Roblox feed", the roblox "Leaderboards", the Roblox events, the roblox shaders (compability) and the R6 being in most games that didnt break gears. And other plenty of other reasons that I might not even know about it but it's based on their own nostalgic set.

How can We make Roblox better then? Answer: Unfortunately you can't, however you can download some clients elsewhere, i just hope you don't get a malware while doing so, most of these are suspicious and can get your IP or whatever. I wished Roblox could've at least make a Roblox option to change the layout from "web", "in-game" and "studio" features to change certain old things back, like the lighting shader and so on. Especially with the community you can't change the community either since they are just bunch of gen alpha kids, you name it.

As a 2018 Roblox player and more recently a passion developer, I can definitely agree that Roblox now (compared to how I remember it back in 2018) is a lot better. Neccolo makes a good point when he says that all the issues have existed since the dawn of time, not even mentioning that some used to be worse.
From a player side, the Roblox Moderation has become less loose which keeps the community safer. Back in 2018, while most English swears were already blocked, swears in other languages like German weren't. Now, with wider language support on Roblox in general, swears are nearly impossible to encounter unless someone uses heavy workarounds.
Clothing in 2018 was still very copy paste, and counterfit was all the rage. A bunch of Roblox users back then were wearing fake Adidas and Nike on their Avatar and the overall non-generic options we're limited. While most of these issues are still a thing now, you won't see as many copy paste clothing items from my experience. Additionally, Avatar customization in general has gotten a lot better. Layered Clothing itself has made a huge impact, since it can morph to your body without being flat. Layered clothing is also much harder to counterfit, since you need to know 3D modeling or be able to rip the model somehow.

Only thing I can add is that, despite having Meepcity Plus, I never hosted or went to one of these parties.
Copy paste games will always exist. It's like copy paste minecraft prison and smp servers or cringy reaction youtubers. They will and have always existed. Heck, what is now dominated by Simulators, Anime fighting games and Toilet Tower Defense was once dominated by generic cart rides, obby's and tycoons. Nothing has changed except the types of games.
And finally, from a development side, Roblox has gotten so much better. A few years ago, you couldn't even round the corners on UI elements without some workarounds. Now you can using the UICorners object. Studio has admittedly interesting (AI) autocomplete which is a huge time saver in some cases. The documentation has dark mode! *DARK MODE!*
To conclude this huge comment, *roblox now is better than back then* and I will not change my opinion. Flame me all you want, you can't grill me.

Roblox itself is a game engine, and the newer Roblox is much, much better. in recent years Roblox has become better optimized and has increased in graphical fidelity. The only major issues I have with modern Roblox are public UGC and Rthro/Realistic Avatars. Blocky low poly avatars are Roblox's identity, I don't hate or dislike people who have realistic avatars, I just think having that kind of stuff makes Roblox no longer feel like Roblox anymore.

People say that old Roblox is better, but in the grand scheme of things - The only reason people say that is because they were at that time kids; and worries and other understandings of things did not apply, especially when playing games like Roblox. Now the things that didn't apply do, and back when it didn't people immediately link it with fun and happiness. Hence people saying old Roblox is better. For example, if you asked me if I would rather play Bloxburg or Welcome to the Town of Robloxia: I would play Bloxburg because it's more interesting and interactive. I had a lot of good memories in Robloxia, but I wouldn't play it today because it doesn't meet my interests.

tbh the passion is what I miss the most on roblox. Though we have incredible projects like block tales, combat initiation, hours, and phighting, the majority of it is pure slop. Gamefam, Voldex, Preston, and all the other companies were really the downfall of what some of us miss.
I feel like when ppl say old roblox they mean 2014 to 2019 so i guess for now we just call 2014 to 2019 roblox the mid years and then 2020+ the present days.
