    This is the vibe I get… when I watched Jordan thru the years I noticed he was a half step ahead of everyone else on the court. I’m not talking exclusively with speed but rather the ability to know not just where everybody is at the time but to anticipate where everyone is going to be. I get the same feeling w Luka… but w the speed thing in reverse. And again… I’m not talking about how slow he might look but that he’s absolutely using that ‘half step behind’ to his advantage. I’m spouting an almost metaphysical angle to the game… but then again I spout a lot of sh#t😳 (oh, and it goes w/out saying that you have to phenomenally talented in the fundamentals of the game in order to even come close to pulling this off!)

      About a month ago or more I was listening to Kevin Durant on a podcast where he said something very interesting. He says that when he covered Luka he realized that in reality he is not slow at all. He says that Luka plays in his own pace and changing the rhythm of the speed from fast to slow and back in the same attack, but at some point he explodes out of the run with such a high speed that it is impossible to follow him. He says that at the time he thought that Luka was just pretending that he wasn't fast and thus playing tricks on his opponent, because when he has to he is quite fast.

    Sooo... Brunson, while averaging 22/6.5 on 47%/39%/85% shooting splits this season, isnt an Allstar level player? Not to mention his insane clutch numbers... just look it up, you will be shocked!
    Being the off guard next to Luka just made him look less then he is. But he was the reason Dallas was so good last year when Luka missed a game or even just took a breather. Brunson averaged 20.5/7.5 on 49%/35%/80% in the 17 games without Luka. His role was just smaller next to Luka, hence why he wouldnt be an Allstar candidate NEXT TO Luka.
    Overall the Brunson loss could go down as the 2nd worst mistake in Cuban-Dallas-History, after the departure or Nash! I am sure Dallas would be 1st in the West right now, had they given Brunson the extension he wanted. IF Dallas had extended him, he wouldnt average anything close to that. Maybe 17/5. But that would be more then enough, cause his efficiency and playmaking whenever Luka sits would be enough to hold this roster afloat.
    Even a Lavine wouldnt average more then maybe 20 next to Luka. Noone will ever average 25 next to Luka, unless its an absolute Superstar like a Giannis or Durant. Others just wouldnt have the Usage needed to get enought shots.

    The answer is simple, "skills" "fundamentals" "technique" call it what you want, that's the secret. It's not like there are no athletic players in Europe, there are. but in the European leagues what is most valued is the intelligence in reading the game and the development of fundamental skills. The Americans long ago forgot the basics and made everything absurdly and unnecessarily complicated. with the necessary knowledge and fundamentals you can create space or leave your defender sitting on the ground with two simple movements or a simple feint. Luka is like most European players, a basketball book with legs.

    Yeah get a star point guard so he can sit on the bench and watch Luka play. Makes no sense. Got to get a star player that doesn't need the ball.

    • @toshirohitsugaya857
      @toshirohitsugaya857 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope, you are wrong. A second ball handler All Star (not necessarily a PG) is something he really need, to take a break in some offense and generates points without him. He can be as productive as normaly, with a second good ball handler. With that, some really good 3&D who can make their shoot, Wood starting in the five withe Dinwiddie, THJ, Hardy, Powell, Whright IV in the bench.

    i said it before and i will say it again, americans (mostly) confuse athleticism/athleic bodies with ripped bodies.... and that is a damn huge mistake that i cannot even grasp the logic behind it ... if he wasn't " athletic" he wouldn't be able to do what he is doing and that applies to all athletes ....

    Lmfao there's ONE glaring reason that nobody wants to talk about for some reason. The foul rules do not apply to him, the league has literally parted the seas for him and he is able manipulate the rules to his advantage, giving him +15 points off of free throws per night.
    He's doing exactly what Harden did on the Rockets, but in 2023.

    • @connor_phillipz5689
      @connor_phillipz5689 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yet he gets even better in the playoffs when those freethrows aren't there anymore. Your argument is hollow.

  • @ChristianC-gy1ym
    @ChristianC-gy1ym ปีที่แล้ว

    Because he cheats (commits offensive fouls) but has the ref's protection. The league needs a Larry Bird. A Dirk. Get it? Got it? Good.
