I have the same pc and I am about to change the cabinet and the graphics to an rx 580 with 8 gb of vram, for that I need to change the power source to one of at least 550 watts. I really like how careful you have it (sorry if something is not understood, it is translated with google translate)
It seems possible indeed, with a 24 pin to 6 pin adapter. I need more research on this topic though. Budget wise going for a 75w GPU may make more sense

nice video, also you can install and boot from an NVME SSD. I did upgrade some of these pc`s already. always working. just look in the web for : Install and boot from an NVMe SSD on a HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF
Hi! Since you mentioned you have experience with upgrading HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF, maybe you can share some knowledge? The thing is that I need to upgrade CPU from i5 3470 to i7 3700. Initial configuration has 2 RAM sticks (M378B5173QH0-CK0, Samsung DDR3 1600Mhz 4GB) which perfectly works with i5. After switching to i7 it does not boot (5 short beeps indicating RAM issue). If I leave only 1 RAM stick, the system boots. I mean either stick number 1, or stick number 1 - if there is 1 slot occupied, the system boots. If more then 1 slot, then is does not boot. I tried different combinations - it appears that 1 stick is OK in any slot (all 4 were checked), but 2 sticks don't work no matter if in A-slots, B-slots or A+B slots. To exclude possible socket damage while switching CPUs I switched back to i5 - it still works with 2 RAM sticks. Tried updating BIOS to the latest version (02.90 => 03.08), but no luck. Unfortunately I don't have neither any spare 1155 MoBo, nor other DDR3 sticks to test. Have you ever encountered something like this? I would have assumed some CPU deffect, but there is a guy on HP forum claiming he has tried 4 different 3770 CPUs with no luck (but he does not specify if he has multiple RAM sticks, unfortunatelly, though I suspect he does have). Would be very grateful if you share some thoughts on this.
@@andrewerohin2459 Hi Andrew, unfortunately I do not have a mentioned CPU to try. I have read your post in HP forum, it would not be likely that all cpus are defective. More likely would be an incompatibility with the mainboard. However, I do know I7 is working in 8300 Tower, with all 4 dim slots populated, but that has another mainboard. So I conclude the cpu is not compatible with the sff mainboard.

Is rx580 run with this pc?
As far as i know you cannot easily change the power source
Tal vez sí, con un adaptador de corriente de placa base ATX de 24 pines a 6 pines para HP.

Hello, I got the same rig: do you think I could use an i7 7600K or 7700K? Thanks for answering regards
No sorry you need another motherboard for intel gen 6
We can use only 3rd generation chip?? In this motherboard?
@@hetsolanki_13i think it is only compatible with 2nd and 3rd gen cpus.
Thanks, and what about to ad a MSI Geforce 1050 2GT LP (75W),will it be OK?
how did you remove the plates for the gpu slot and what screwdriver did you use?
I didnt remove them at all.

thank you for you video
You need a bigger PSU, at least 450W.
Thank you for your answer, did you change the power supply because you put a 1060 6gb that consumes about the same as mine. 120W yours and mine
i would say a 1650 super or a 1650 ti, sorry for my mistakes
@@thibautg6270did you succeed? (The 1070 with a 320 watt power supply)
@@thibautg6270It is said that you need a dual sata to 8pin for that to work
Great✌✌✌
do you use low profile gpu??
No
works normally on a standard power supply
What connector did you use to connect the 1060 in order for it to work? I'm trying to know because I'd like to add a 1050ti to mine
Thanks
Sata to 6 pin or 8 pin depends on the GPU.

no, just plug in the graphics card and install the drivers
Do you have the dvi cable???
When I installed my gtx 1650 i had black screen too.then I realized you have to connect a dvi cable to your monitor and the graphics
@@smokemanicwhat were you connect the other end to ?
Hi just wondering I have a hp 8300 MT with a i7 3770k could I fit a i7 7700k in or higher thanks
No sorry only intel second and third gen cpu.
If I put a additional 8 gb rams the fans are going crazy so I quickly turned it off
Corrupt ram or one of the ram slots is not working properly
Hola .Una pregunta .Puedo hacerlo la misma cosa con un HP 8000 intel duo?❓❓❓
It is not compatible with this hardware that i used in the video.
