@@kennith.nielsen You make a valid point but on the other hand this is one I time maybe we can cut him some slack as first off he did keep pretty calm. He assessed the situation then attempted what was ultimately a successful release without himself or animal getting hurt. Alternatively he could have panicked, made no attempt to release instead look up and make phone calls then wait for a conservation officer to drive to site. On arrival the CO depending on his/her abilities may decide to dispatch the animal claiming any other course of action according to policy and standard operating procedure was too dangerous.

@@wirefeed3419 The most important thing was that the animal was successfully released :) and it was nice of him to help it others might have just passed by.
My issue whit this kind of videos is that the persons involved often get praised for their effort, or rather that is not the problem. Say someone else had been passing by and fought the guy on camera and then posted it. It would have been a completely different situation and there could not have been given enough praise for the rescuer. But, in my opinion, videos like this don't show a person helping anyone or anything but them self. He saw an animal in distress and his first thought might have been I've got a save it, if that was the case his second thought was what's in it for me? His first thought might also have been: That looks bad, but what do I care and then he walked on but suddenly realized. Hey, I could save it while I film it, and then post it on Social media to show people and be a hero.
But no matter what the circumstances might have been In this video because the guy is filming he is acting out of goodness alone at some point he decided that he wanted something for his effort. It's the same thing with people giving homeless people things and filming it, sure they do help the person but it's not really because they are nice people.

You’re too nice Ken. Filming first, rather than helping is disgusting behaviour and attempting to publish the video for money makes it greedy.
I don’t accept the ‘well others would have done nothing’ excuse either. We don’t know that and even so, does not justify such behaviour.
All the people dumb enough to praise this behaviour are almost as bad even if they are ignorant.
Unacceptable in this day of age.

What if he rescued the deer and didn't tell anybody about it, but just did it cause it was the right thing to do, would he still be good then or only is he good when he receives credit and recognition from others.

John...I'd say completely irrelevant . Deer are pretty hardy creatures, buck or doe. This little guy got lucky. We had a young buck hung up in a chain link fence at the airport I work at. Three of his legs were through the fence, one was broken...he even managed to get his antlers stuck in there too. Unfortunately, he was not so lucky. As a hunter, myself...I hate to see one have to go out in such a way, and I get no thrills from being the one that has to do it.

    • @fermiticus4034
      @fermiticus4034 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Amber...not sure if you're serious or not???
Doe's don't grow antlers. On very rare occasions, a doe/cow can grow antlers...due to abnormally high levels of testosterone.
      Side note...for more information...
Deer (all varieties of deer, elk, moose, caribou) have ANTLERS.
Antlers fall off and regrow every year, while HORNS do not. Antlers will typically have multiple "points", while horns will be just a single "point"(think steer, bison, antelope, goats, sheep, etc).
Exceptions...female caribou do grow antlers. Pronghorn antelope shed their horns, which are a bit of both, antler and horn.

Well I’m not so sure it’s not political.
Politics are founded on attitude and approaches to life, and the way I see it, a liberal would have rescued the deer, but then kept it in captivity for “its own good” whereas a Republican would set it free to take its chance the wild, whatever the outcome.
Liberals never stop trying to apply more and more government for the so-called “good” of the people, bringing with it more control and hence less freedom and liberty, but with handouts.
Republicans should be aiming at less government and more liberty and freedom, even if that comes hard on some folks struggling to make a living.
      Hard work = rewards
      No work = poverty
I’m not a US citizen, but all my life I’ve lived under a similar 2 party system, watching the economy boom and bust cyclically. It’s no joke when I’ve never had a day out of work in my 50 years in the workplace, then I meet a 50 year old who’s never worked a day in his life. He was clean, healthy, had a house and car, wtf. Why should I work when I can squeeze a living out of the state.
It ain’t right in my book, not because of politics, simply because I don’t see why I should be the one to pay for his laziness or misfortune. End of rant.

Please just be very careful and be vigilant watching it’s behavior. An old friend of mine’s mother took in an abandoned baby and nursed it from a few days after his birth and he became a member of their family, until one day after reaching maturity he took off into the woods and didn’t come back for a few days. This now 8 point, VERY STOUT buck would come back every other day or so to be hand fed and petted. As relaxed around humans as it was, and as tame as they THOUGHT he was, he still decided one day, completely out of nowhere, to instantly flip the switch while being hand fed. Words cannot express how much damage a buck can do to a human. His mother’s head had over 10 massive pressure cuts from where he rained down on her a barrage of front hooves and she received about the same number of deep puncture wounds in her abdomen and on her back. The attack collapsed one of her lungs, ruptured her spleen, and almost turned her into a paraplegic. It took 2 years for her to walk again and she’s maimed for life. She’ll never be the same.
