The Darkness is the best band that came out after the 90's that I genuinely love listening to. Great lyrics, they know how to play their instruments... they haven't changed their style.
+EJBen007 abject Joy. the music lifts you, the visions entice you, the want to move to the beat nudges you, it is happiness in a physical form. enjoy it. it is rare and fleeting...
Goddamnit, why this band was never immensely popular in the US still boggles my mind. They were and still are one of the greatest acts in rock music in general. Even if this album wasn’t the same without Frankie, I’m so glad that made a comeback 10 years ago and have been consistently releasing fantastic albums. I absolutely love this band and I adore Justin Hawkins, what a great frontman and a really smart guy. His TH-cam channel is one of my favorites and definitely worth checking out
I would so marry the lead singer if he asked me. His voice makes my heart happy and it gives me chills at the same time. This whole group is so talented, no other musicians out there like them right now.

I'm crying to this. It seems no sense, but the reason is that Darkness is the band that helps me during adolescence. Justin Hawkins's sense of humour always cheered me up. Ok stop with tears, now I'm going to listen the rest of the album with a big smile. Fantastic band! Sorry for my english. From Sicily, Italy.
Hey mate. You are so right about that. Same to me when i listen to them. Since they released their first song, i love them and always will. This is what music, real music is all about right? Feeling good!
I really can't explain all the feelings this band makes me feel... too bad this band was not around in the 80s 90s a perfect tour would be The Darkness & Queen
That guitar solo is fucking lit! Quite possibly the greatest music video ever made 🙏💜 Edit: Just noticed Justin's rockin the seashell guitar. Also, I cannot get enough of this song & video, they're both just so great! 💜
To me, The Darkness is a very good band, they are the keepers of thee good old rock n' roll, so I don't see the point of people unliking their videos, you must understand the british black humour, the irony their videos have. Keep on rocking, The Darkness. Regards from Mexico.
It’s rare for a good band to make it when they do things out of the ordinary. These guys probably deserved more recognition and surly better than a lot of more famous bands.
I was listening to I Believe In A Thing Called Love and at the end of the song I could hear a new song starting with the lyrics 'is it just me or am I all on my own again' and then the song ended and it's taken me ages but I've finally found it. What a tune.
That's how I found it too. I loved the Darkness's "I believe in a thing called love" video but never looked into them until recently and realized I missed out!
Indeed, their videos are made with tongue planted firmly in cheek, but they are serious about their music. It's not done ironically, they love this particular style of glam rock, and it shows...and to be perfectly honest, I'm kinda glad that they've remained "Our Little Secret", just between us fans of one of the few remaining glam rock bands still playing and writing new music today. When people ask me, I always warn them... _...Beware, before entering _*_The Darkness!_*
In the words of Todd in the Shadows: "This will get me executed in some circles, but I never really liked Tenacious D. They never backed up their silly posturing with any real muscle. Tenacious D were trying to sound stupid. The Darkness don't care if they sound stupid. That's a crucial difference. Really, isn't that what The Darkness's heroes were about? Being unafraid of looking ridiculous? Being a joke band is okay. Look at their most obvious influence: Queen. Queen were a joke band a lot of the time. If you had never heard of them "Scaramouche, scaramouche, do the fandango" would be the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard. But it works because they believed in themselves, just like The Darkness. And any band that introduces a kick-ass guitar solo by shouting "guitar!" is alright in my book. "
I've had this vid up bunches of times but not watched it closely all the way through. I only just noticed how he actually writes the "wooooo" he sings on the letter. Can't stop giggling like a tickling git.
The Darkness.... Hilarious, over the top music videos... Tongue in cheek lyrics that would make any school boy smile.. Guitar and bass riffs that make you want to pump your fist, tap your fingers, and light a lighter all with the same hand, and vocals that astound human senses and forest animals anywhere within range of the song being played... This is what The Darkness was, and ever shall be.... ROCK ON, Mates!
Thanks for uploading this video I've been searching for it on TH-cam for really long, this was solo of the year on 2000 and something, personally one of my top 5 solos of all time along with comfortably numb!!!!
The Darkness is the best band that came out after the 90's that I genuinely love listening to. Great lyrics, they know how to play their instruments... they haven't changed their style.
The genius of that line cannot be overstated. “Is it just me or am I on my own again”.
It works on so many levels.
Literally the most underrated band of all time.
Big country, the alarm and the darkness. Holy Trinity.
No. That title belongs to King's X. These guys had major international recognition for a time. Cool band though.
not really, the most underrated would be a band you haven't heard off..
Can anyone please tell me what is this song is about?
Wow... I was looking for the ' most underrated (blank)' coment, and I was not disappointed: There's always a copycat begging for likes!
Justin Hawkins is one of the most underrated frontmen of all time. If not the entire band. I just feel like they deserve more success
Utterly tremendous live. He makes the audience really feel part of the performance. I mean I am biased as I have a huge crush on Justin!
Drug problems and the sibling rivalry between Dan and Justin threw the band off track. They could have been huge.
They have had more than enough recognition
You're damn right friend
Can anyone please tell me what is this song is about?
Justin playing that guitar solo in a wedding dress is quite possibly the coolest thing I've seen in a music video.
Chris Leavenworth same
Chris Leavenworth I agree! Is It Just Me is one of my favorite songs of theirs! And One Way Ticket to Hell and Back is one of their best albums!
Going through a divorce I totally get it

When he writes "Wooo"-- it gets me everytime XD

Woooooo!
Dragonspice101 it's the funniest part of the video!
"Woo" _but fancy_

I love his face as the bride - seems genuine! Great band.
The woman playing the bride looks so like Justin! Amazing casting!
The Hawkins Bros are easily the best thing that Lowestoft have ever bestowed upon us.
Lesson of the music video... Self-love is the most important love!!!!! 😘😉
seriously underrated band

You're up at John O'Groats, I'm down in Land's End
On you I depend
I see your face
When I close my eyes
And there ain't no place
Like between your thighs
Don't want a life alone
All by myself
To honour and trust
In sickness and health
I wanna give you my love, my love, my love
But is it just me or am I all on my own again
You're at the Taj Mahal, I'm outside Big Ben
It's driving me round the bend
Forever and ever

The Darkness has me breathless from all the laughing. Their videos are hilarious. Justin's falsettos are to die for. Epic band will always love them.
I love when artists don't take themselves seriously and are just here to rock and have a great time 🤘

The songs are funny too. "Is it just me or am I all on my own again?" is some top notch wordplay.
