A hairstylist heard her bare her heart and said, "aight, lemme fry your hair proper "
I absolutely _hate_ this for her. The "stylist" is really lacking in critical thinking skills and I hope this woman gets the help she really needs.

They needed a naturalist black woman hair stylist , not a holywood stylist who works with black women who doesn't wear their own natural hair. My mouth drop the same way because he is damaging the second girl hair even more. This was a quick fix for both women, not a long term solution.

The fact that we know you’re not supposed to even style freshly relaxed hair with braids because you literally only have 2/3 of your hairs strength. The disulfide bonds are destroyed when you get a relaxer, leaving you with only salt and hydrogen bonds… and hydrogen bonds are broken when your hair is wet or heat styled, so then, until your hair is dried or cooled down, you now only have 1/3 of the strength. That’s why they say don’t comb or brush your relaxed hair when it’s wet. I wish I could have done their hair and spoke to them… goodness. 😢😢

Too bad for these ladies and their short term fixes.
I’m so glad I invested in my natural hair.

6:17 I can never let other black women who hate their god given hair make me ever feel bad about mine. That includes aunties, etc. Most of them have less hair than me; so this ‘do something with your hair’ from women with damaged hair is just not that deep to me. I hope she gets to a place where she doesn’t care. I ignored my aunts and my mom insist of me having relaxed hair for years. As I kept caring for my hair myself, when the length came, they all shut up or suddenly had compliments.

I remember watching this episode and was shocked at the insensitive kitchen comment smh.
They both had lovely natural hair I was hoping they would be encouraged to embrace it, the european beauty standard is deep rooted within the hairdressing profession and western culture. It's interesting that a hairdresser is either a natural hairdresser or a European style hair dresser, they don't seem to be a jack of both trades.

"get ON the pedestal..." I LOVE that. Thank you for making this, i never heard of this show. I feel like it would've been handled better if the stylist was a woman. Men dont really understand the weight and importance of our hair and can be our biggest adversaries when it comes to our hair issues
Also about the video itself it was so informative and well written. I would just say the audio altogether is pretty quiet but especially the show audio is super quiet

The first girl also could have gotten crochet rope twists so her ends could be sealed and her scalp can get air. A trim on the dead ends would have helped too.

I really enjoyed this video! I was stunned that the stylist put a fricking relaxer in the hair of someone with thinned out edges and try to say this is the solution! Like sir...i think not!

I had to shave my hair completely a long time ago. Is that unreasonable when you have to accept your hair is damaged beyond repair? It would make wigs easier while it grows and you could learn hair & scalp health from scratch

Dermarolling and skin peels and minoxidil for the receding hairline maybe?

I saw this and didn't understand it either . Why does bw being natural mean afrocentric african american styling without our African hair fibers itself being shown. The only naturals are men. I get people used extensions for hair loss issues but for most its the default rule. The cheer leader needed to start again and cut it off. The other lady had what most would call good hair that she could curl or roller set. If anything he could have gave her 5,000 for hair transplant. Sisterlocks helps women who have difficulties in styling their texture thus not liking their hair. He could have gave $2,000 for that. He looks very low budget. I feel its not that peopl hate their blackness its the modern, colonialized acculturation and style of beauty. Most of us like and wear western attire and want hair that matches the look. I find african women like the koisan, mursi, hadzabe and other tribal women beautiful and collect pictures of them. If i had the pleasure of walking around in nature in my natural state barebreasted I wouldnt mind my hair looking like theirs. Their hair and dress is the real me and how I truly look, but it wouldn't match all yet some of my western styles. The frustration is my hair nor follicles can take combing braiding, looking nice,, pretty attractive presentable or any other modern world rule. My hair fights to be an antouched uncombed freeform mess that I would be riduculed and ostracized for. In fact " taking care" of my hair for the major part is ALL damaging. I get the frustration and rather put on a wig which I rarely wear than have my jair being done.

Easy fix….Shave it off and leave it alone. As it grows, maintain a clean scalp and moisturized or lubricated Hair strands.
    Scalp massages and clean diet.

No more easy fixes . Your hair is part of your body not a strange appendage . Fix your mind. A big chop is hate. . A small trim to remove fairy knots . I love the texture of 4c hair .
