Tara Leigh, I love how passionate you are about your work and can see how much you love it by the emotion on your face and in your eyes. Thank you for blessing me and helping me understand scripture better!
Can I please have prayers. I'm losing one of my animals. She has suffered a stroke yesterday. I need all the prayers I can get. Thank you I love you all.
The last couple days, we’ve highlighted the war between our new Spirit-given mind and heart and our sinful nature. Now God shows us how to live in peace and victory: we “conquer evil by doing good” (Rom 12:21) and making our bodies living sacrifices, not confirming our minds to the ways of this world but by being transformed (Rom 12:1-2). How do I allow myself to be transformed? By “removing my dark deeds like dirty clothes and putting on the shining armor of right living” (Rom 13:12). I need to change those clothes every day-this is a daily commitment to “clothe myself in the presence of the Lord and don’t think about ways to indulge my evil desires” (Rom 13:14). To be clothed in Light sounds beautiful and metaphorical, but its reality looks like this: “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good….Take delight in honoring each other” (Rom 12:9-10). If I’m focused more on caring for others’ lives and stories and looking for ways to encourage them, there’s less room for “dirty clothes” and more space to be clothed in Light.
Romans 12 is what stood out today & I prayed through it for me and my family: that we would offer our bodies as a living sacrifice (v 1); not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing our of mind (v 2); not think of ourselves more highly than we ought, but with sober judgment (v 3); hate what is evil and cling to what is good (v 9); be devoted to one another in love and honor one another above ourselves (v 10); rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn (v 15); live in harmony with one another (v 16); not repay evil for evil, be careful to do what is right (v 17); live at peace with everyone (v 18); and not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (v 21). 🙏🏽
This is my favorite recap episode. As you expressed your great love for the Lord and His word which ultimately prompted you to begin TBR, it gave me a greater appreciation for your teaching. The struggles you’ve experienced to be accurate and thorough are greatly valued. This is my 4th time through and I’ve come to love my redeemer and His word in a deeper way. Thank you Tara-Leigh.
You have helped me to know God more this year than in all my other 59 years! Thank you for listening to your heart and moving forward with The Bible Recap! God Bless you!
..."The hour has come for you tonwake from your slumber" ... (Roman's 13:11) I prayed this over my sons and husband in tears, thanking and praising God that He is waking them up! 🙌🏽 My 19 year old nephew recently passed away in a car accident and it has shaken my older son. My son stated, last night on our ohine cal,l that we have a short time to make a difference in someone's life. God will use this as part of his testimony and the catalyst to remind Him of how he has been called since before birth. God is going to use him to share the gospel with others and make that difference in their lives! 🙌🏽
“For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These-and other such commandments-are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.” Romans 13:9-10 NLT Once again these verses about love really do stand out to me as they highlight that being a follower of Christ is essentially allowing love and Christ to influence all of our decisions; and that to me is extremely beautiful, just seeing how loving and kind our God truly is that he invites us not only to love him, but also to love others, our God is so good and so loving, and I pray today and for the rest of our days that we can spread the goodness and the love of God through our actions. God bless you all today. ✝️💪
Thank you Tara Leigh for the hard work you put into digging deep into the Word of God and teaching us! I am being blessed every day by reading His Word and listening to your teaching! Thank you!!!
I have watched, read, or listened to a LOT of preachers and teachers in my life, and I truly believe that you, Tara-Leigh, are one of the most genuine, humble, and knowledgeable of them all. Your true love of Jesus shines through brightly in every single Recap, and you and the TBR team have been a true blessing to so many of us. May God continue to bless and use y'all in powerful ways!🙏
Romans 11 reminds me that God is not done with His people. Israel for the most part has fallen away. They have not accepted Jesus Christ as the Messiah. But, God does have a faithful remnant among the Jews who are faithful to follow Him and have received Jesus as Lord. But what a great gift to us Gentiles. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ is not only for Israel, but it is for any of us who are willing to believe! What an amazing God! Praise Yahweh! Jesus Christ came and paid the price for all of humanity's sins, past, present, and future by dying on the cross. And, He is coming back to get His bride, the church! Help, Lord, to remain faithful until His return. Let us not conform to this world, but be transformed by renewing our minds by keeping on the full armor of God (Romans 12: 2, Ephesians 6). Let us "rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer" (Romans 12: 12). I totally agree with TLC. Being in God's word is the greatest thing ever! There's no knowing Him fully this side of heaven. But, as we continue to dive into God's Word, we can know Him than we did at first. Oh, how I love the Lord! He's where the joy is!
Aloha, praise the Lord, and good morning BR family. Thank God for TL and the BR Plan and family. This is the first time I have been so motivated and dedicated to reading God's words. Once I got to Book of Numbers I stopped. Glory be God and the BR family; I am 344 books on track. Pay attention to kindness and severity of God; He has a plan in everything he does. He is where the JOY is!!!
Love. Love! Just, love! Because of His love, I am grafted into His tree. Me! A wild olive tree. I am part of His family because of my faith and His love. Romans 12:2 was the first bible verse I studied and committed to memory as an adult. It’s so impactful! It is SO easy for me to be conformed to this world, to lose sight of heaven, to get caught up in the chaos. It is diligent work to take every thought captive and let it be transformed by Him, held up to the Word and renew my mind with my gaze upon Truth. Because of this, I am encouraged to remain and think soberly, trying not to let the enemy gain a foothold or place a stumbling block in front of me and to cling to what is good! Romans 12:9-21 is highlighted and marked over so much. It’s tear stained. It has notes. It’s so clear what I need to do, black and white, and honestly with so many colors of pen to mark through it, yet it’s still so challenging to act out the way I want to. I want to highly focus on being kindly affectionate to one another, fervent in spirit, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer! It really seems simple. Love. Love! As Romans 13:8-10 reiterates… LOVE! May I do what Romans 13:12-14 says and put on the armor of light, walk properly, and put on the Lord Jesus Christ! Oh Father, this is my plea, my prayer! Let me live according to your word and walk in your way, oh God! Forgive me for my failure and my flesh! Strengthen me where I am weak! Let me put you on and clothe myself with your armor and love. Give me your heart for others, God! Thank you for your love, grace, and mercy. Let me learn how to share that with others and live peaceably with love that glorifies and honors your name. All glory and honor to you, our mighty God and King of kings. In Jesus’s powerful name, Amen.
Romans 11:32-34 NKJV [32] For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. [33] Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! [34] “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?”
We are the vine and he is the branches. I want to keep my faith my heart is definitely in it, by God’s grace. I definitely seek God’s glory I’m God dependent and interdependent. We are to love one another as we love ourselves I trust God. I am loving TBR thank you TLC he is definitely where the joy is 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thank you for Bible Recap. I struggled following bible reading plans over the years. After discovering such a thing exists on Candace's podcast, I love reading the bible and discovering God from scratch. In your words, He is where the joy is!
@biblerecap what you are explaining today is explaining what is happening in Romans 9 - if He hardens, it’s so they have the chance to return so He can graft back in and show mercy and they can be saved. Please consider how Romans 11 interprets Romans 9 and how Romans 9 doesn’t mean pre-selected people to be saved and pre-selected people to be condemned
What about Jacob I have loved, and Esau I have hated… He didn’t love less… He hated! Or Pharaoh… He raised him up for a purpose. But he would never be saved. Think on Romans 8:28.
As you were talking all I could think about was, how Jesus demonstrated perfectly how we are to respond and treat authority. Especially the time when they were in the garden when they come to arrest Him and he submits to their authority. He is the son of the living God, and yet He still humbled Himself and followed the Fathers plan. Hmmmm.. kinda sounds like He is still doing this through our wonderful TLC. All praise the Most High!!
Peace comes from God and as a result of peacemakers placed in our midst for rule of law and good order. Serving God and obedience to Him will always fit nicely as led by Holy Spirit whether the powers that be agree or not. Be accountable to the Lord and the path will be clear!
While reading today's scripture, I wondered if Rm. 16 & 26 were saying that ALL Jews will be saved. Apparently, it's a big debate. My pastor preached on 13:1-7 during lockdown. Here are my notes: Role of Gov't: Protect citizens, enact good policies that put down evil and are beneficial to citizens Reasons for Gov't: 1) To discourage evil (13:3) 2) Promote good 3) Enforce punishment Is there ever a time when Christians should not submit to gov't? Yes. When laws are enacted that break the heart of God that we could not support in good conscience. Use the right channels to get laws changed.
Absolutely love the way you recap from your heart and soul Tara Lee! Listening to your explanations truly help me understand God in a more personal way. Thank you so much for doing this! May God bless you and shine His glorious light upon you. ❤
Ch 12:16 was my God shot. Be of the same mind toward one another. V. 2 says to be transformed by the renewing of your mind… and several times Paul warns the Romans to not be haughty (11:20,25; 12:3,16). We are to always consider others as equal partners, members, of Christs body and not puff ourselves up as more important. It’s so opposed to the mantra of the world, right? His light would shine even brighter if these vessels would “in honor give preference to one another “ and “continuing steadfastly in prayer “ as we “serve the Lord”. (See 12:10-12)
God has a plan. The Jewish people have their strong beliefs and everything is playing out so that we, the Gentiles can be brought to God. God is working all things together for His glory. God, give me patience and understanding. Thank you for gathering us in your arms. Romans 11:11-12 NIV "Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!"
In SA I don't feel that our government is doing much for the good of the people. In fact their actions are so blatantly wicked that i find it difficult to believe that we citizens can even follow most of their rulings. I'm sure other countries are finding the same. Evil being called good. Good being called evil. Plus legislature being brought in that totally contradicts scripture
Tara Leigh, I love how passionate you are about your work and can see how much you love it by the emotion on your face and in your eyes. Thank you for blessing me and helping me understand scripture better!
