When we finished Romans yesterday, we’re all rooting for Paul to head to the capitol of civilization, and then head to Spain. But when Paul first met Jesus decades ago, He told Ananias that Paul will see how much he will suffer for Jesus’ sake (Acts 9:16). From the very beginning, Jesus has marked Paul’s life for success and suffering. Oh, he’ll go to Rome, alright, but in chains. Our pastor at Red Rocks Church this week noted how Mary was chosen, and chosen both for “great trouble and high favor.” I realized that God speaks to us (He sure was, to me) that “I have chosen you to go through what I’m putting you through.” Whew. This journey of grief in this Christmas season is no accident. A good God allows suffering, because as my daughter said, “There is purpose in the pain.”

Yes! I’m like, “wait, what? Just one more!!” I may have told a few people yesterday that I am addicted to loving reading the Bible and TBR has really helped me find that love as I am learning to understand and the spirit is revealing so much to me! I have invited a few people to join is in 2025… so far the invitations have been declined… but I pray that the Spirit may stir them to try it out with us! Maybe they’ll have the same “problem“ we have! 😂

“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus-the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭20‬:‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬
This verse stood out to me today because to me it highlights the extremely strong passion and love Paul has for Christ; furthermore, it shows how Paul is not only willing to sacrifice his own life for Christ, but to spread the good news to others and better their lives. How in incredible is it that Paul is willing to die, not only for his God but also for those around him, it reminds me so much of Jesus and how we all should attempt to mimic and act like. God bless y’all today✝️💪

Aloha, praise the Lord, and good morning BR. I am so grateful to this plan because the name books are not new but the words in the Testaments are. It's truly a blessing to have this opportunity everyday reading, sharing, and understanding God's words in this world of uncertainties. Whatever the situation is lean on God's everlasting arm and hold to His unchanging hand. He is where the JOY!!! 🙏

Wow. There was a lot that occurred. Paul went from place to place, preaching the gospel and checking on the churches that he helped to plant. He knew that he was destined to go to Jerusalem, even though there was opposition awaiting him. Paul walked in the power of the Holy Spirit. Even though he knew what would happen in Jerusalem, he followed the will of God. That is tremendous faith. My God shot came from ‭Acts‬ ‭23:11‬. The Lord stood by Paul and said, “Take courage, for as you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must testify also in Rome.” When you are following the will of God, even if it's a difficult task, He will provide the strength to do the work.
God certainly works all things together. He's in all of the details, and He's where the joy is! Yes and Amen!

My God-shot: God let me finish course and testify of your grace, love, adoption, and power until there’s no breath left in my body. Let me bring you glory. I love you Lord.
”But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.“

Paul remained faithful in obedience to what God had revealed him to do. He was also faithful to inform Paul just what he would have to endure. I admire the military involvement in Paul’s protection and transportation. Totally avoiding the murderous plan of the Jewish leadership. I think it is noteworthy that they thought they were serving God’s plan in their plot to kill Paul. Best to never underestimate demonic deception at work in our culture.

Keep a close watch on what you believe; this was a lesson in the early church that applies the same today. Use God’s word to help you evaluate and weigh all teaching to make sure it is consistent with scripture.

In Acts 22:21-22, the crowd shows their ignorance of the scriptures, that God always intended, ever since Abraham, to bring the Gentiles into His kingdom. Knowing Who God is and what He has planned always is grounded in His word.

Nice try buddy I’ve still got 2 points in my sermon and he raises Utticus from the dead. Paul reminds them to keep a close watch of what they believe because even people in the church with deter them. They see Paul I’m the temple they try to spread lies about Paul. He went to jail and in jail he is not alone God is there my God shot was how Paul went through so many different things but is still spreading the gospel. He is using him for this purpose. He knows exactly when an where to use ppl to spread the word. He is where the joy is 🙏🏽🙌🏽

Around four minutes in, she says something about Agabus doing a sign act and adding emotion to what the Holy Spirit revealed to him? Can somebody point me to a reference why she is interpreting this?

    • @bethriggs8910
      @bethriggs8910 ปีที่แล้ว +8

21:11 Agabus took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands with it…
When she said “sign act” I thought of it like a visual aid or acting out of what was going to happen.

My God Shot was when Paul knew that he was going to be arrested and imprisoned and the people tried to tell him not to go to Jerusalem where this would happen.
      Paul responded in
Acts 21:14, "Let the will of the Lord be done."
Reminded me of Jesus in the garden praying "Not My will, but Yours be done."
      (Luke 22:42).
Paul showed us how to follow Jesus and trust His will no matter what.

I don't think she was talking about Agabus himself. I think she was talking about the response of the people when they heard what Agabus prophesied (Acts 21:12). I think it's interesting that Luke seems to include himself in this urging of Paul not to go to Jerusalem.

I feel that Paul was actually being sarcastic when he hits the High Priest, then said he didn't "realize"he was the High Priest, because in Acts 22.5 already Paul acknowledges the High Priest as the one who already knew his whole background.
