    Nice spot! Slow water too! When you think a brookie is a rainbow...it's a good thing!

    Nice brown! Buddy just got one from the a couple days ago. Pictures and videos don't do justice, those things are beast. I know your heart was jumping out of your chest when you caught that 😆

      Thanks man.. Yeah, I have caught some big ones, but no way was I expecting that out of that small stream.

      @@massachusettsoutdoors8320 Believe it or not there's even bigger. Look up the biggest brown they have ever caught from the swift, I think it was 34" and 17 pounds. Got a 21 inch landlocked salmon out of there once, and my buddy chris got a couple 26" landlocked salmon, best trout strem in mass by far

      @@joshdesellier7275 You're right, that is pretty much the best trout stream in Mass, but this is north of the Quabbin. Totally different because the trout don't run out of the reservoir this way.

      @@massachusettsoutdoors8320 Like above the while reservoir? They have a swift above the quabbin? I never knew that!

      @@joshdesellier7275 Yeah... actually the Quabbin used to just be the swift river... they just dammed it up. So it extends north and south of it.

    can you park at the main resivor and then walk down to the river and fish

    • @massachusettsoutdoors8320
      @massachusettsoutdoors8320  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not really... at least that has been my experience. To the south of the reservoir you certainly can, but that area is for fly fishing only and heavily fished.

    Why do people feel the need to keep every fish they catch especially in that area of mass

    • @massachusettsoutdoors8320
      @massachusettsoutdoors8320  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These are all farmies... they don't survive the winter and are meant for consumption. I catch plenty of wild trout and always release them.

      @@massachusettsoutdoors8320 they don’t survive the winter? You mean summer?

    • @massachusettsoutdoors8320
      @massachusettsoutdoors8320  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess in the video, that would be the summer lol, but in MA there are two stocks, spring and fall. Both summer and winter kill off the farmies in MA due to water depth and temp. @@davemoranino
