Unfortunately, the heat wave that we had earlier this spring probably did a lot of them in and sent the other ones into hiding in deep water.

I will give you this though, www.mass.gov/info-details/trout-stocking-report It is getting late in the season though, and we are in the middle of a heat wave, so it is going to be hard to find where they are. Try down in deep holes, or in streams that feed into stocked ponds. Trout like cold, clean water.

It is always a question. Most of these videos are from stocked trout places (see the titles). I keep the farmies (once you have fished enough, there are tell-tale signs of being farmed raised) that won't survive the summer heat out here. I always throw natives back. I also don't keep more than I and my family will eat. Thanks for asking in a nice way.

Thanks. I go out Saturday mornings usually, and some evenings here and there. It's crazy, I usually see about no one. I am up pretty early though. I was just out in Wendell this past weekend, on the Millers and pulled in two of the biggest trout I have caught this year. I forgot the tension screw to my gopro at home though... so no video. Would be cool to say hi if we do end up at the same spot.

@@massachusettsoutdoors8320 Yea for sure! I havent filmed at all this year. I'm a bit too busy to edit video. I thought you may have been there fishing the miller's on mother's day! but I think it was someone else in your spot. I fish at the bridge more often than not. I want to explore a lot more up this year, time permitting. I usually where a goofy hat when I'm filming. I'll keep an eye out for your jeep! 😃

I love the Millers. Definitely my go to river for years now. I also love the Swift north of the Quabbin. If you haven't fished it, you should. Smaller than the Millers for sure, but not fished as often, something very special.

Hmm.. very near the Dennison entrance. Just looks like a typical pull-off gate.

Spring after the gate is open drive in and pass the boat ramp. The gates and roads are on the left. It's called Mc Glouflin trail. There's maps at middle and last entrance.

It isn't directly off of 62 but it's close.

These are all farmies... they don't survive the winter and are meant for consumption. I catch plenty of wild trout and always release them.

Sometimes they are literally brick red! I made the mistake of thinking I had a cutthroat once. lol

@@massachusettsoutdoors8320 Believe it or not there's even bigger. Look up the biggest brown they have ever caught from the swift, I think it was 34" and 17 pounds. Got a 21 inch landlocked salmon out of there once, and my buddy chris got a couple 26" landlocked salmon, best trout strem in mass by far

​@@joshdesellier7275 You're right, that is pretty much the best trout stream in Mass, but this is north of the Quabbin. Totally different because the trout don't run out of the reservoir this way.

@@massachusettsoutdoors8320 Like above the while reservoir? They have a swift above the quabbin? I never knew that!

@@joshdesellier7275 Yeah... actually the Quabbin used to just be the swift river... they just dammed it up. So it extends north and south of it.
