I love the characters and I hate how dumb the movie is. For example: You don't see a weapon lying around but suddenly every character finds a rocket launchers, railgun etc. Rebeca kills her whole team with her dumb decision but does not regret anytghin when she finds Jill. In one scene Jill and Leon shoots all Lickers on 1-2 hits. In another scene they are unable to kill them and need conveniently placed gas canister? Not to mention that in one scene the Lickers are closely behind them and in the next they are so far that Leon and Jill can just rest for a while. I love RE series, but man I could not turn my brain off in this movie. I would recommend it to fans, but drink some beer before you start watching this.
My biggest problem with Death Island was that the main villain had a good point! He was designed to be a perfect foil to the protagonists but for some reason the protagonists in question just didn't care about anything he had to say! Dylan Blake had the potential to be the next Albert Wesker but he got shafted in his own debut.
I found his motives and goals really good but the problem for me is that everything was ruined from the jump. They gave us his backstory as movie went along and I felt less bad for him. I get that most umbrella workers are either in the dark or know everything that goes on but he was an Umbrella security opp, that man should’ve known that the moment he found out his teammates were infected and the company was not going to give Vaccines or treatment, it was over. And he caused his friend’s death literally. Why would you risk your life and bsf by fighting him WHILE ZOMBIES ARE BREAKING GLASS TO EAT YOU?! LET THE SENSE SENSE! But no. I would have sympathized with him if he was getting revenge, because he had to kill his friend cause Umbrella wouldn’t send a evac. unless all the infected members died and that teammate got infected mid fight. But that’s just my opinion. My counter argument to Dylan being the next Wesker: Dylan’s motives were out of some… good. Wesker was never good, Wesker never had any outside personal reasons to kill the world. He just wanted power. Dylan wanted to destroy those in power because he had to kill his bsf, that’s too nice of a motive/goal. Also…. My opinion only, Dylan has/had a hero complex/ savior complex, you can’t save em all. And Wesker only savin’ himself. (I know it’s 2 months late but I finally remembered this movie existed.)
well, i aagree with you about Damnation being the Best movie, i think its well writing and has the best character plot points in a total. But about Death Island 40% Nostalgia about the team melts my heart! Really nice seeing all this guys together after almost 30 years. 60% is just too boring to pay attention!
The fact that Leon and Claire's falling out in Infinite Darkness wasn't addressed in this movie was disappointing. Though then again, the 2 of them had to had settled their differences before RE6 because Claire was the one who had Leon and Chris meet up at a Terrasave convention after RE5
its time to give those main characters some serious consequences. After that fight with Dylan they should have broken ribs or something. At the end of the movie they are not limping or suffering from physical attacks. At least one of them needs to die. I mean Chris should die bro.
The CGI movies are just dumb fun. Degeneration is honestly the only good one which is wild to think about. The remakes have been pretty awesome despite 3 being not as good as the original I still enjoy it.
Yeah the character designs were very weird. Jill is Remake Jill, Claire is OG Claire. Chris is Chris. Leon is aged and acts like OG 4 Leon. It just doesn’t make sense.
I’m sorry but I have to disagree with the Nick not being a good older Leon I think he nails it in re4 remake and infinite darkness despite it being a huge character assassination for Leon and Claire
it was very disappointing. it was a mess and nothing makes sense. it felt like capcom is just milking over jill's new look and ship teasing jill and leon. the character arc for jill is meh. she deserves her own movie. chris is forgettable in this one. like wth does he do in this one? it's so jarring from his vendetta hall scene. and why is claire even there?!?!?! 😩
The whole film felt very unfocused, it couldn't decide if it wanted to be a Jill post RE5 film or a Vendetta sequel or a team movie, so they thought they'd just do everything I guess...
I did not like the facial animations for Jill for the latest CGI resident evil movie; her facial animations were so dead a lot of the time. Outside of that, the movie itself was fun enough. I was unsatisfied with the quality of the story, but did enjoy the action sequences.
I don't understand the over-stylized action sequences or the non-serious banter between characters. It feels like they were ignoring the polarizing divided opinions of Resident Evil 6 that caused Capcom to completely change the formula for 7 & 8 and instead treated it like a smashing success and wanted to top it. I found it as awful as most of the live action Milla Jovovich RE films.
I kinda thought Death Island was the best since Degeneration but I think Capcom needs to make a movie or game where all the RC characters return to the ruined Racoon City for whatever the plot demands them to. A story that may sell better with fans than any of these run of the mill stories they milk to death. You can tell Capcom has run out of ideas with these characters who've been pretty much the same characters since RE4 and 5.
@@gibramrivera-yv2lo i read that RE7 was meant to be a soft reboot but i think capcom abandoned the idea later lol same with how they messed DI as well seeing how it's a sequel to vendetta so Chris and Leon should be in the forefront, hence why you see the DI poster has them both but capcom just shoehorns everyone in and pushes jill in as the leading MC
I disagree with 90% of the people that love this CGI garbage like the rest of them I'm burned out on this hero saves the day crap maybe I'll end up liking these movies when you start killing off some of these legacy characters that seem to not even get a scratch on them boring dialogue and the same kind of wire foo kung fu avenger style gymnastic crap in every one
And worse, there are zero stakes. We all know they're all going to come out alive and well after fighting some one-off villain and his hordes of bioweapons that may cause collateral damage, but nothing they do will have any impact on the series as a whole and will be never mentioned again.

yeah i was lmao when claire and rebecca suddenly pulled out rocket launchers.. like.. where did they get those?!?!
They literally state that they're inside an armory like 4 times before the ending 😂
All this without mentioning the cringe dialogue the movie has in most scenes. Whoever wrote this shit needs to be fired
Honestly I was too high to care about the details...I was too busy giggling at the action

I was expecting a mr.X type of villain or a nemesis which will keep stalking them
Did u catch the code Veronica Easter egg?
I've seen this movie. And barely remember any of it
These characters are so boring just time made them famous soulless characters.

I honestly love this movie. It's everything a gamemovie needs to be. Don't overthink it, turn off your brain and enjoy the ride.
Turning your brain off is the most damning kind of praise you can give something, how do you enjoy something if you turn your brain off?

Fine fun movie!
I wholeheartedly enjoyed the chemistry and banter between Leon and Jill; Those two get along better than i was expecting.
The CGI movies are just dumb fun. Degeneration is honestly the only good one which is wild to think about. The remakes have been pretty awesome despite 3 being not as good as the original I still enjoy it.
It felt like a movie about co-workers, even though they work for different organizations.
Yeah the character designs were very weird. Jill is Remake Jill, Claire is OG Claire. Chris is Chris. Leon is aged and acts like OG 4 Leon. It just doesn’t make sense.
Where did you saw this movie?
It's available to rent or buy in the Apple or Google store, and I think some streaming services have it depending on the country
Is also available to rent or buy here on You tube . I’m about to watch it soon .

I agree 100%. The movie was pretty meh
I disagree with heisenberg being the example of a lame boss when Simmons exists
Na bro atleast he was sorta fun with Simmons. While Heisenberg you just shoot while driving which is really boring for such a cool boss design

I think its the best resi movie, but could have been better
If this is the best we’ve got, boy oh boy doesn’t that say a lot…
Resident evil is played out. The only good thing to come out of it were remakes of 20 year old games.
For a resident evil movie this is bad
I finally got around to watching this movie last night. It was awful.
Here is why re movies don't work anymore the re characters becoming super heroes marvel but worst

@@N.i.E.M.O true I miss the times before re4 when the characters were humans not god tier heros and they can actually die I miss that 😞
I think jill and leon were definitely the best part of the movie, it felt like filler in my honest opinion?
Yeah it didn't feel like anything of consequence happened, just another Tuesday for everyone
