And in my case, that love for the bloke doesn't diminish with time and even grows. When I finally decided to start watching Karl - through the various reactors on You Tube- I realised I had stumbled across an authentic, kind, insightful, entertaining human being! Life was brightened up immeasurably!
38:37 "We'll have another little meeting about that. Was it all croissants there and free coffee?" No, Sky decided to save the croissants, because they had found some spiders in a bathroom down the hall.
Mick from Australia Mandy. Loved the reaction. And I agree with you. I think they missed an opportunity not showing Ricky and Steves first time reaction.
This is one example of when Karl says pretty offensive things , but out of ignorance. “You’ll never hear of a Chinese man who starved to death”. China had the worst famine in history. In the ‘50s after the Great Leap Forward there was a massive famine where between 20 and 40 million people starved to death.
There were rare occasions on the original XFM radio show, before the podcasts where i briefly thought he was being bullied, i still find it funny to listen to though as Ricky is forcing McDonald's burgers into Karl's mouth, just as one example😂😂
Saved this one for evening viewing with the dinner. Perfect. Great reaction again, Mandy. There's a part that I was hoping was on this video but I must be mixing it up with another one. Karl seems to just go along with any role play that Ricky comes up with. I've never known him not to :) Really looking forward to seeing you react to season 2 and then when Idiot Abroad is done, I'm hoping you'll move on to The Moaning of Life (another Karl series). Some great and funny stuff still to come.
Karl is right the brain only has so much space for information in it, but it is so much space, you'd have a hard time filling it up if any person could live long enough to do so. You do have short term memory and long term memory, to get long term, you got to recall the information multiple times. If you don't recall it much anymore, the links to that information get weaker and weaker. At a certain point it can get overwritten and corrupted and then you got false memories or new information written over the same are that stored something else before.
38:03 "How did they convince Karl to do season two is just amazing to me. How..., like, he just was just fed up with everything. Everything!" The job offers wasn't exactly _whizzing_ in, and at the end of the day, it's a job that pays, innit?
I get Karls point on planning, his outlook is that people should be more spontaneous and do what they want in the moment instead of living by a schedule and not to be dragged out to things if you aren't up for it. I don't know if I'll feel like going out in 2 weeks time, I only know whether I do today. I like that as an idea, he worded it terribly as he often does, but I like his point, not to just schedule your entire life like that and focus on doing what you want, when you want.
Karl comes home - and he's not a changed man. “Travel is glamorous only in retrospect” said the famous travel writer Paul Theroux. Ricky's underlying mission in this series seems to be to make sure Karl never experiences glamour. I imagine Karl's question to Ricky inevitably would be "What do mean by retrospect?" Is there anyone better than Mandy to watch anything at all with Karl? I really don't think so!
I had never seen this series before so it was an interesting journey to go on. Karl has an original way of thinking but he comes up with some gems sometimes. I just did not like the abduction - in most of his experiences he still had some control over what was happening but there he had none, IMO.
So from your story, those friends of yours, who never know, if they'll come over, are like Karl, in a way that they don't like organizing either. I'm the same way, never plan for anything, because I never know if i'm in a mood for something by the time the planned day comes about. Oh, and I get really anxious waiting for a future event. I do what I feel like doing, when I feel like doing it. I also do not like crowds, especially when I'm sober. I can be quite personable when I'm drunk though. I guess that for that hostage training, a big geveaway for Karl, was that the camera crew and whoever else was with him didn't really run, or come to help him or anything like that, just kept filming like nothing was happening. Had they made those guys run away and filmed it from a hidden location a bit further away, he would have probably bought it.
Lol, very good point, sometimes one forgets about the camerman, but it is hard to tell if the camerman also got kidnapped or not with a bag over your head! 🤪🤣
@@MandyCaneLane It's not just a cameraman, it's a whole crew, with several camera men. Remember when Karl threw that needle into a cameraman, there was another one to film him. Also there isn't much room in that small car to kidnap more than Karl, and there were only guys running towards Karl. No one ran towards camera crew and since there was only one car, he would have heard others being talked to as well, if anyone else was kidnapped. Plus don't forget that he was filmed in that car as well, so they had to wait for at least one camera man to climb in there and get into good position to film him before they started driving away. Then when they arrived, they'd have to let the camera out to film them walking Karl to the hut, wait for him to get in to film the interrogation etc. All of this would make this experience quite disjointed, with pauses, waiting for camera to get into filming position, and since Karl would be used to these by now, it would probably tell him, that it's a part of the show. Damn, didn't mean to write half of it, but I just started thinking about that situation, and all of this came into my head.
Food snobbery is a very Western attitude. For many years under various oppressive regimes a lot of Asian countries basically had to eat whatever they could, anything with protein was valuable. Now we are facing drastic climate change, food like crickets is a viable resource that could at least extend our time on this planet. Frog's legs in France is a delicacy, The Italians have a cheese with maggots in it, also seen as a delicacy, All across the world we have Blue Cheese, so cheese with mold. We are happy to eat prawns, lobsters and crabs, basically sea bugs.
@@MandyCaneLane Well and sorry for sounding rude, but really look up the Karl "I could eat a nob at night" segment from the Ricky Gervais show, it is hilarious
Somehow I don't think kidnappers would release a captive because they were singing annoyingly... They'd just put tape over their mouth & stick them in a separate room. I'm not saying you are fibbing, but I think the story you've heard elsewhere isn't 100% accurate... Unless they were incredibly stupid kidnappers.
Judge for yourself 🤪 www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/schoolboy-willie-myrick-freed-by-kidnapper-because-he-wouldn-t-stop-singing-gospel-song-every-praise-9278293.html
@@MandyCaneLane The first paragraph includes 'reportedly' & 'allegedly'. In other words it's hearsay. & it's alleged from the 9 yo himself, not confirmed by anyone else. I done a wee web search to see if there was any update, like an arrest. No arrest seems to ever have been made, but it turns out the same boy went missing again 3 years later, he'd went on a field trip with his friends without telling his parents. So I'm still sceptical... I kinda feel like Ricky shooting down Karl's monkey news here :/

The new "palin" at the finish.Michael Palin did lots of travel shows.he was ex monty python.played ceaser in biggis dickus!😘
40:56 Dragon’s den is a show we’re u pitch ideas to millionaires. America’s version is called shark tank “I’m out” stephens comment
Ahhh, thank you!!
I think season 2 they offered him a but load more money n then on season 3 they sent Warwick with him for company so he wouldn’t have to go through it on his own (or at least that’s my guess as to how they got the extra seasons)
loving your reactions to an idiot abroad, you should check out Karl vs Steve all the insults or, Derek outtakes with ricky and Karl in, they're hilarious 😂
Thank you Steven! Will do!!
Karl has a little friend with him in the next series. He hated it... again.
Stephen merchant legs for days...
42:15 know exactly where he is lol, sat on the same bench
You need to react to the deleted scenes they are hilarious 😅😅
Soon!
Only after series 2! Its got series 2 spoilers in the deleted scenes video
Karl is something else but we love him just the same 😂😂😂
And in my case, that love for the bloke doesn't diminish with time and even grows. When I finally decided to start watching Karl - through the various reactors on You Tube- I realised I had stumbled across an authentic, kind, insightful, entertaining human being! Life was brightened up immeasurably!
38:37 "We'll have another little meeting about that. Was it all croissants there and free coffee?"
No, Sky decided to save the croissants, because they had found some spiders in a bathroom down the hall.
🤣🤣
Mick from Australia Mandy. Loved the reaction. And I agree with you. I think they missed an opportunity not showing Ricky and Steves first time reaction.
Thank you Mick! 🤗🌻
I've never known him not to :)
Really looking forward to seeing you react to season 2 and then when Idiot Abroad is done, I'm hoping you'll move on to The Moaning of Life (another Karl series). Some great and funny stuff still to come.
I am so excited! Everyone keeps saying Season 2 is even better! 🤗🙌🏻
@@MandyCaneLane You'll love it :)
Congress Tart!
Ah yes, I learned this in "Inside Out" 🤣😅🤪
38:03 "How did they convince Karl to do season two is just amazing to me. How..., like, he just was just fed up with everything. Everything!"
The job offers wasn't exactly _whizzing_ in, and at the end of the day, it's a job that pays, innit?
🤣🤣
And now you're craving toad 🐸
🤣🤣
I get Karls point on planning, his outlook is that people should be more spontaneous and do what they want in the moment instead of living by a schedule and not to be dragged out to things if you aren't up for it. I don't know if I'll feel like going out in 2 weeks time, I only know whether I do today. I like that as an idea, he worded it terribly as he often does, but I like his point, not to just schedule your entire life like that and focus on doing what you want, when you want.
Worded it terribly? I don't think so, Karl was eating _your_ chicken, so his evening was clearly better than yours lmao
Can't wait for season 2!!
Me niether! 🤗
Thank you so muchh Huaysai! 🤗🤗🌻
I had never seen this series before so it was an interesting journey to go on. Karl has an original way of thinking but he comes up with some gems sometimes. I just did not like the abduction - in most of his experiences he still had some control over what was happening but there he had none, IMO.
Yeah, that part was just plain out too much.
If you're not happy looking a knob in the face there's something wrong - Karl Pilkington
Lmao 🤣🤣
Food snobbery is a very Western attitude. For many years under various oppressive regimes a lot of Asian countries basically had to eat whatever they could, anything with protein was valuable.
Now we are facing drastic climate change, food like crickets is a viable resource that could at least extend our time on this planet.
Frog's legs in France is a delicacy, The Italians have a cheese with maggots in it, also seen as a delicacy, All across the world we have Blue Cheese, so cheese with mold. We are happy to eat prawns, lobsters and crabs, basically sea bugs.
I am not happy to eat any of those things 😭😖
@@MandyCaneLane Well and sorry for sounding rude, but really look up the Karl "I could eat a nob at night" segment from the Ricky Gervais show, it is hilarious
I've been waiting for this one. lol
Again as a reminder, Id recommend jumping past just the intro in series 2, as its annoyingly spoiler heavy of big moments.
Oh yeahhh!!! Thank you for reminding me!!! 🙌🏻🤗

Your thumbnails remind me of that 70s show
😑✌🏻🇬🇧
Mandy wasn't happy looking a knob in the face 😂 you looked away when they showed the Brazilian man on the beach 😂
edit: or the Indian man.
No she was not! 😅😅
Your mate has done you there. No way a football match has no schedule how would the other team know when to turn up
Whoa Mand, dial it back on the Harry Potter spoilers, I swear I'll read the books before I die.
HAHAHHAHAHA, my bad, sorry!
@@MandyCaneLane Because it's you I'll let it slide :)
I kinda feel like Ricky shooting down Karl's monkey news here :/
I feel like you are the Monica of you’re friends group lol 🤣😉
A little bit, but only because I have to be 😅😅😅
Sometimes, when Ricky and Steve's knock Karl, they are especially unfair to him! They are no strangers to mis-understanding facts! Karl is right - Mount Everest does increase in height. Geologists describe two tectonic plates pushing against each other and continuing to do so, making Everest taller each year.
#JusticeForKarl
Also, their grubs, bats food, he showed their disgusting, imo, food?
great review ❤
Thank you Simon! 🤗🌷
Wow your turning into Karl lol😩
If you thought series one was good.. just wait for number two
*laugh in Joey.. "you said number two" 🤣🤣
I just cannot not laugh, Karl is just hilarious😂
