This arrangement was written for the Duke Ellington band by Gerald Wilson and recorded in 1960 on Ellington's PIANO IN THE BACKGROUND album. Wilson later recorded a revised version of it on his own ON STAGE album.
That's a great performance. I really enjoyed Charles and Isak's intro to Perdido played in the style of Paul Gonsalves and Jimmy Hamilton, great stuff. Lovely solos and ensemble playing too, well done
If these kids are any indication, humanity may be saved yet. Thank you so much for the beauty you have brought to the world! Carry on.
Those tenors have definitely listened to Sonny Stitt and Paul G on Salt and Pepper. Very nice.

Sounds like Ellington or Basie at any rate extremely well done. BRAVO!
Love it! The piano and guitar solos really blew me away, and the voicings are very good! Thanks for posting this! Keep up the good work!
I love how the band cheers the soloists on. When my band does that to me when I solo it's awesome and helps build the energy of my solo.

Ok the tenor sax probably memorised his solo, but it was still good. Piano is also good.
Wish the pianist had taken about 24 measures worth..... choice .
