  • DISCLAIMER: At the time I wanted to use my new DSLR. I didn't realize the auto-focus made such an annoying sound until post-production. Rookie mistake. Lesson learned, and it will never happen again. Sorry about that. :)
    Ever wanted to cleanly remove a label, price tag, or bumper sticker but wasted too much time trying to peel and scratch off the adhesive? Here we'll compare the effectiveness of a popular brand Goo Gone vs. 70% isopropyl alcohol.

    I tried using the isopropyl alcohol to remove the sticker off the metallic bin and it worked wonderfully! Thanks for sharing💞

    I tried this on a plastic shipping bag from Amazon and it worked well enough I was able to reuse the unopened package and put a new label on it without the oily residue of most sticker removers. Thanks for this cheap, easy tip!

    Lastly, a wash cloth works better than a cotton round or paper towel to rub. But then make sure it's a cloth you don't care about as it will get residue on it.

      It is his camera struggling to lock focus on objects in the scene, considering there is alot of movement. What he failed to do is switch his camera/lens focusing from AUTO (which is the current case) to MANUAL. He is not a vloger, he is simply trying to helps with tips, but i am sure by now he must have caught up with these basic settings, especially to avoid the camera hunting. All the best guys....PEACE!

    Alcohol is lightest on most materials, but hard to buy due to government control. WD40 is good and widely available, but leaves aromatic residue, and might react with some materials. It doesn't evaporate as quickly, so can be left so soak for hours or a day under a plastic film. Acetone works on glass, metal, polypropylene and polyethylene. Easiest to buy. Takes off paints (good or bad) and will cloud other plastics.
    With a basic solvent one could consult a chemical compatibility chart to see what plastics it goes with. It'll work at least with the material that the original bottle is made out of. Vinyl is one type of plastic.
    I though the noise was caged birds or someone trying a different method of sticker removal in the background and rubbing vigorously.

      Allow some time for the isopropyl alcohol to break down the glue. Depending on the type of adhesive, it can take longer than others. But in my experience, isopropyl alcohol still works better than others.

    • @KnowInstructions
      @KnowInstructions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      At Target, 32-oz of 70% Isopropyl alcohol is $1.99 and 16.9-oz of olive oil is $3.99. If you accidentally spill isopropyl alcohol on the floor or carpet it'll be a much easier clean-up than olive oil. Although I wouldn't recommend cooking steak with isopropyl alcohol. lol

    I have found that contact cleaner is faster, but immediately after soaking it with the contact cleaner, you need to add a layer of liquid soap, which will prevent the contact cleaner from evaporating (it does too fast) and will help with grappling the glue that will come undone.

    • @KnowInstructions
      @KnowInstructions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Joseph Isopropyl alcohol, like most highly concentrated alcohol, can dry the skin very quickly. For viewers who have sensitive skin, they may end up with dry, cracked skin which can range from uncomfortable to painful. In general, it’s always a good habit to protect your skin from chemicals of any kind.
