Would definitely prefer DBH over Until Dawn. Just started watching an UD playthrough on a new channel and I forgot how SLOW so much of it is. As compared to DBH, it's a better watching experience for the audience.
If you decide to play these, please go into those games knowing the fans are heavy backseat gamers and will throw hissyfits if you make a choice in the story that isn't the 'true path'. In Until Dawn characters can be killed by the wrong choice, some of them seemingly insignificant. Just have fun and play how you want, don't be deterred by the fandom! I've seen many gamers get frustrated or stop playing because people really can't chill about the little easter eggs and decisive gameplay
Maybe someone said that already, but one "fun" thing about Tess in the game is that she was modeled around her voice actress Annie Wersching (may she rest in peace) who was in her 30s when the game came out. At first we weren't sure of her age in the game but with the PS5 remake and PC release, at the start when Tess and Joel go to the gate to get out of the QZ people manage to tweak the camera to see the papers they give to the soldier and the details show their actual birth dates and Tess' is "26 Feb 1982", so she's actually 51 YEAR OLD in the game (so one year younger than Joel). This got corrected in the PS5 remake and people got MAD because she looked her age AS PEOPLE DO, and when Anna Torv got the role for the show, she got the same remarks that she looked "too old" for Tess when in reality Anna Torv is 10 years younger than the actual character. People just hate realistic women in video games and it shows
Also (fyi) be sure to loot around for ammo and stuff because you need the supplies to last, The things you need to pick up will usually flash. So make sure you check like everywhere xxx
lots of people have already given you advise on how to loot for items and stuff but i just wanted to say that what i do is: when the game and characters want me to go on a certain direction, i go the complete opposite to scavenge and find ammo, health kits, weapons, notes, manuals to upgrade and all those kinds of stuff. usually they're hidden or around places you're not supposed to be going through (hence why i go on that opposite direction). be sure to check on the grass, drawers, piles of trash, cars. the game and the characters will always wait for you so just look for things calmly don't feel like you need to rush just because Tess needs to go a certain way. i cant wait for more videos!!!
LETS GOOOOO, SO EXCITED Biggest tip is to keep a look out for flashing items in your vicinity, in drawers and cabinets, it's items you can pick up! - And yes the not blinking thing happens often ndjjdjdjdjj - ALSO, *another little tip* things like crawling between tight spaces and pulling open garage doors are like little checkpoint saves so when you do those know somethings about to happen right after
i have to give credit to the editing here- i love this game to death and i've watched it being played a million times and usually it's just a facecam and the game but this is just that little bit extra why i love your content!! also the commentary is so much more fun compared to your typical gamer guy observations- I'm living for it all basically!!
18:18 this is what is so great about playing the game second to the show! I played it after watching the show so I found I was already connected to the characters and knew their story as the show provided a bit more background information. It was also really fun to see how they changed certain storylines because you still experience something brand new when though you know essentially the direction the game goes in and how it ends
L3 stands for the left toggle on the controller - you are meant to press it down and the game will have you look at where it wants to look (when you hear a ding in the game it means press it e.g., when you were trying to find the letter it dinged) - just to help you out
Pleaseee continue playing this game as well as part 2!! Also a tip: you can keep your flash on while sneaking and no one will see. Also, while sneaking, don't push the move button all the way forward but go a lil slower. Even while fast crawling they can sometimes hear you.

The tutorials do help with fighting techniques and they're done well, they're super quick and interactive. They'd probably be worth doing moving forward, especially to learn some stealth techniques.

People have already provided good tips in terms of looting areas and throwing bricks/bottles to distract or stun enemies, but another useful tidbit in case you get stuck in an area and you’re not sure where you’re supposed to go, there’s a thing caused naughty dog yellow, where the developers provide some form of yellow in the areas you’re meant to progress in (so that could be yellow paint on platforms or yellow railings on stairs, for example). If you take a while as well the game will give you a hint and try and direct you on where to go. Also, if you find yourself without ammo and an enemy is coming towards you, if you have a brick, you’re able to use it as a melee weapon. Have fun with the game! Collecting and reading the notes are great for adding insight to the outbreak and how people have dealt with it, but there may very well be the odd one that gives a location to a secret loot stash, or the code to a safe (they’re always really worth opening). This has become one of my favourite game franchises of all time and I cannot WAIT to see how you progress!

As a tip, lookout for yellow. Yellow is the color they use to signal where you're supposed to go or where he can use a ladder, etc.

You should play Stray. It's an oddly heartwarming dystopian game where you play as a regular cat. It's lit! You'd love it.

35:20 the irony of this moment here is that you did miss something. If you look at the end of the fire escape before going down the stairs, there’s a shiny object on the floor of the fire escape which you can pick up as a collectible 😂
