Thanks for the video. Very convenient that the coach picks passengers up from both a variety of locations. I always thought the coachline ran separate coaches from their pick-up points.

Great trip. That's unique, all in seat facilities isn't turned on until out of Singapore, interesting. I think only the Audio Video On Demand which is turned off until out of Singapore. Unlike previous trip using same coach at same route, there's different place to transferring passenger from DD Coach to Regular coach or vice versa.

Cost for 1 way ticket for this bus is 80-90 Sgd.
    Definitely not cheap loh.
Most bus tickets go for half the price.
But of course, the decor of the bus is good, the seat is slick and the service is not bad.

My partner and I took a local overnight coach from Singapore to Cameron Highland. Some of the mountain roads are best forgotten especially when two buses meet going in opposite directions. We wanted to see how tea was grown and harvested and processed. I would love to go again but I fear it is not going to be.

Hi, was the trip duration longer due to the multiple stops/changing of bus? Because usually 12+pm will reach Genting. Also was the ride confortable or quite shakey? And is the breakfast served warm? Thanks.

If I live in Tampines, I would 100% take a flight out to KL, then transfer to a bus from KLIA to Genting. I would have more time to spend in Genting or even half a day tour in KL, then having to endure the squeeze in customs at 2nd causeway and multiple stops. Sitting in a bus seat for 7-8 hours is also super uncomfortable, did that once and never again. Also $80 for a one-way, when you can get return flight to KL at $120. You get neither cost or time savings, so what’s the point?

    • @thebiannualtravellers
      @thebiannualtravellers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

Hi there, Journey with buses would have the convenience of carrying liquid such as shampoo and body soap without getting any check-in baggage. The jam at KLIA 2 customs is not short as well. We jammed there for 2 hours once. There is also the cost of transferring from airport to genting, unless you go up via public transportation, which then again needs to transfer from plane to bus to cable car which is a hassle if there are kids coming along.

    • @hanazri875

How much is the ticket for a seat?
Are their drivers attentive to maintaining a safe driving speed?
Judging by the calibre of the bus, I would have imagined or liked to see an onboard toilet.
At the start of the video, I was quite tempted to comment that for safety reasons, I normally avoided taking double-deckers for long-distance travel, much less going up Genting. So I'm glad to learn that in Gombak, the passengers have to swap for a single-deck bus. The Malaysian government are to be applauded for mandating this safety precaution.

No double decker coaches allowed up to Genting Higlands, so we'll change you to a single decker coach that is almost the same height as the double decker.....errrr?!?!?

it's not the same in height and it's also differ in term of weight load

@@markzzzzberg1312 They are almost the same in height - they are literally parked next to each other on the video. Weight load - the passengers sit pretty high up on the single decker coach too, I don't even think there is that much of a difference there either.

@@MichaelGGarry there is so much difference and it's also much safer and balance to ride on the mountainous road using the single decker

@@MichaelGGarry I noticed that too, just almost defeats the purpose of having that rule. The single decker bus also looks as heavy as the double decker.

Why double decker not allowed at Genting

Hi, we believe is due to the high center of gravity of the double decker bus making it dangerous for them to navigate the turns and slipping terrain.

Prepare to be abandoned. Book at your own risk.
Dangerous and attempted to drove off with our heads still halfway in the coach luggage stow away. I need a negative star. A pair of young ladies and us had a longer clearance time.
The bus almost left without them. And threatened to throw off one of their luggage. So I stood holding tight to the front door and the driver also threaten to abandon me and my young kid off the bus. If Transtar is a hospitality way of commuting to Singapore, and does not understand our culture of kindness. Please SEIZE YOUR BUSINESS. DON'T bother doing tours and leaving your customers behind. It's not the fare that matters, what if 4 of us women are stranded and have no one to turn to. What is Transtar doing for us?????? And a male driver threatening us to abandon us despite my young child and I pleading to wait for the pair.
