It is a big effort for a five minute train ride. In May 2023 I took the bus from Johor Baharu to Woodlands after having arrived from Kuala Lumpur. There was no ticket available for the train. What a pity that there are no direct trains from KL to Woodlands. I took one in 2013 without having to change at JB.

That Railway market became another victim of overtourism. In 2002 I was the only tourist there - even I remember a Thai couple told me how adventorous I am to do that journey alone... Today... it is destroyed by instagrammers, youtubers and other unsocial media. Even the name "Talad Rom Hub" was only coined some years ago...
