I've heard Lin Manuel Miranda say that Renee Elise Goldsberry memorized this song in 24-hours and was the only cast member to never flub a line on stage. She is beyond perfection.
I love the difference between the "I'll leave you to it", in this song vs in Helpless. Because in Helpless we hear it from Eliza's perspective, her sister is happier, almost smirking as she is teasing Eliza for being head over heels with this orphan penniless soldier, and in Satisfied we hear it from Angelica, painfully aware of the choice she has done both for her sister but for herself.
Thank you for pointing that out. I, too, saw the difference in the delivery of those 5 words - and Angelica's facial expression and body language - in each song.
I actually never thought about it that way. We, I guess, don't realize how much pain Angelica is truly in until we hear satisfied. And the different lenses through which we see the winter's ball put a lot of emphasis on not only the different perspectives of the ball and how the two sisters felt about it but the overall difference between Angelica and Eliza. Angelica knows how fragile Eliza is and therefore makes the decision to give Hamilton up. Eliza on the other hand is naive and doesn't recognize the intimacy and almost instant connection between Hamilton and Angelica. Amazing observation!
When I realised that in July it became one of my favourite moments. The tiny nuances in movements and acting during Hamilton are phenomenal. Every single action is thought out and planned

Lin has said that he's most impressed by Renee, because she sings and raps and dances, and all that in a heavy, bulky gown that's kinda corset-ish around the torso.
Corsets actually help opera and theater singers! 😊 the support of a corset makes you breathe differently, more up instead of out like we've gotten used to in modern times. This helps the diaphragm (I think, don't quote me) open up, which supports your singing. You essentially breathe "properly" in a corset for singing. Corsets are great, and not nearly as restrictive as people have been made to believe. There's a reason women AND men (yes, men too!) have worn them for hundreds of years before the 1900s. They wouldn't have worn them if they were "torture devices"
@@spadesgrlI don’t sing, but I have a few steel-boned corsets bc I’m a Ren Fair girly lol. When I was in undergrad and grad school, I used to put on one of my corsets for extra long study sessions because it helped me keep good posture when spending hours pouring over textbooks lol. It’s impossible to slouch in a proper corset 😂
When she sings "To your uniooooonnnn!!!" at the end, combined with the notes, gives me child and, LITERALLY, brings me to tears each and every time I hear it!!!!!! Jesus!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!
During auditions, Lin began to be afraid he had written a song it was not possible to sing. Then Renee came in after having the score in her possession for 24 hours and blew everyone away.
I first saw this song and my thought was 'holy shit, this is the most amazing song I have seen performed on a stage'. The storytelling and then the movements of the stage to reflect it, genius. It's my very favorite piece from the show, Burn comes in close but this one was stunning.
Omg, we all had the same reaction! thanks for sharing this. And I always loved how Renee holds her drink. Its just a perfect stance and silhouette. Amazing
I listened to other Hamilton cast members sing Satisfied and they are all amazing...but only Renee's version gives me actual goosebumps every single time. And now let's go and try to show my poor neighbors that I can sing it too😂😂😂
It's a joy to hear a theater coach who clearly loves the show apply his expertise to help us analyze what we are hearing. Until we listen to this video, we only know that it's a magnificent song; after we listen to this video, we know why.
The most fascinating aspect of this performance for me is the fact that besides these unbelievable technical aspects, this is incredibly emotional. every note, every movement, every facial expression is communicating concrete message. I've heard some other attempts too and while some of them are technically impressive as well, nobody matches the acting brilliance of Renee. This performance right here is the definition of musical theatre to me.
I always loved the pain she was able to portray in the line “I’ll leave you to it!” She’s trying so hard to be happy through her vocal intonation but you can see clearly in the face that internally this is not the case. The nuance in that is truly great acting. Love and so thankful that this was filmed every day.
Interesting fact, this was shot in several parts. Keep an eye on the flowers on angelicas front of the dress. It disappears and reappears. Shows you how tight the choreography was. It’s three different takes but it flows so well visually.
Yeah, the close ups had to be done without an audience so the cameras didn't get in the way of people seeing the show. Its impressive that you don't notice AT ALL. There is no difference in performance to a full house vs an empty one.
It’s noted at the end of the movie that dates of filming but I assure you Renee gave three beasts of a performance that the editors had plenty to choose from
I can't believe that she almost didn't audition since the casting call said they wanted a "Nicki Minaj" type. She learned this song in a night. That blows my mind. And I have been waiting for you to do this song since it came out on Disney Plus. By far my favorite from Hamilton from the moment I saw it in Chicago. Even though he supposedly wrote it for Karen Olivio, I thought Renee blew her away.
I watched Hamilton on Disney+ last summer, and went into it pretty blind - hadn’t heard the soundtrack before, didn’t know any detail really. Satisfied is the moment that I went from ‘yeah, this is pretty good’ to ‘holy **** what even is this??’. Everything up to there is good, and Helpless is cute, but this is the moment that everything in the show really comes together for the first time - score, book, staging, choreography, all working together so well, and all adding to the story
I have goosebumps the entire song. Her natural vibrato is just so amazing, it’s hard to not judge any other woman playing this role. She set the bar HIGH.
Lin has said that she got and learned this song the night before her audition for it. He said she nailed it and that he was not interested in hearing anyone else.
I feel like Hamilton was one musical that was made to be filmed like this. There is so much going on on the stage with the choreography and intricate details like the directionality of the stage turn table it would be impossible for most people to see all of it during a live performance. This number is also a great example of how camera angles like shooting from above the stage or close ups of her face (which no one would see in the theater) can enhance a number because we can feel the disorientation that Angelica's character feels...P.S. I think everyone watching this video already has the words memorized lol
Totally agree! I've seen it both on Disney and live... And the live experience was absolutely amazing, but unless you have REALLY good seats, you miss so much of the nuance with the choreography and acting/facial expressions on stage. I still rewatch on Disney from time to time and hope to see it live again some day... Cause "some day, some day...they'll blow us away..." 😊
She is fantastic. I remember writing on Twitter that this is why she deserved to win that Tony and she liked it. She is amazing and I'm so happy to see all the success she is getting. I think the first time I ever saw her live was the Color Purple in 2005. She slayed me back then and has only gotten better.
I'm convinced this woman was the first human born with two extra lungs. This is my favorite song (and it's hard to choose just one) simply because of Ms. Goldsberry's performance. To me, so often Angelica stole the show. Brava!
Satisfied is pure perfection and Renee executes flawlessly. Miranda's writing and idea for the whole sequence is genius. Every time I watch it I'm mesmerized.
Him: “It isn’t impossible to pick a favorite song... even a top 5” Me, who has ranked all the 46 songs from most favorite to least favorite bc I was ✨bored✨: 👁👄👁
One thing I didn’t notice before was that when she initially took the glass to make the toast to her sister, she didn’t seem ready to take it. I can really only base this off the fact that she took it with both hands and her expression looked sort of panicked but resigned if you know what I mean. That is a really genius way to help set up the tone of the song, at least I think so because it shows that more than anything she wants to be completely happy for her sister but she has a bit of regret in her mind, so it was almost as if she didn’t know how the toast was going to come out.
This song!! Alex Lacaimore said when she auditioned and performed "Satisfied" it was the first time they heard the song being rapped through. Before, they only had Lin's demo. She breathed life into the song.
I love how she goes absolutely still at the beginning. Adds to the dimension of the dream-like quality of the flashback while everything swirls around her, but it also keeps her core solid during the most difficult measures of the song and allows her a chance to concentrate on her technique rather than choreography. Bravo staging team. That is when we vocalists thank you!
I love your passion when reacting to this song! I’m no actor or singer, but one thing I notice is that she sings with her entire face, which is why I absolutely love to watch her. She wears every note on her face. I do hope you consider doing “Say No to This” - the sultry rendition by Jasmine Cephus Jones is astounding. Her transformation from “Peggy” to “Maria” is breathtaking.
This song is so special - it reflects how sometimes the most heartbreaking decisions in our lives are the ones we make to ensure another person's happiness "sigh" And her voice?! You can hear every single emotion and feel with and for her... 😔 How she sings appareantly without breathing is a mystery though 😲
I love the 'You forget yourself" line. It's a quaint usage. To those unfamiliar, Eliza is calling attention to both her social stature, and Alexander's forwardness. It would be something that only someone with social cachet could use. She's basically telling him, "You've stepped out of line, remember your place. You're being too familiar, you're presuming too much." But he persists.
I think I read that she was sick when they recorded this with laryngitis. That just blows my mind. Loved watching you. She has been a fave of mine for years.
I know nothing about technical singing, but I am fascinated by the muscles in Renee’s neck and jaw. I can see where she’s doing vocal acrobatics…advanced singers honestly don’t get enough credit for their athleticism!!!
Everytime I watch that last "To your union/ and the hope that you provide," I can FEEL Angelica's pain. Watching them kiss as she does the musical equivalent of screaming about how perfect they are!? It KILLS ME!!!!!
Damn! I remember Renee as an attorney in the soap opera One Life to Live. Had no idea she could sing. Her diction and breath control blew me away. And...what a voice. And so comfortable to watch. She is brilliant.
she used to sing on the show and since OLTL filmed in NYC alot of the actors were doing shows on Broadway and Off Broadway, Renee was The Lion King as Nala and was in the OBC of The Color Purple as Nettie.
Yes. She was so great on OLTL. That is when I first got hooked. Even back then, she was so sweet to her fans. She's beautiful inside and out-a true light.
The lighting in this was spectacular from a storytelling point of view. The blue is used in the first act to show internal thoughts and so through the beginning there is a fade into blue THEN she is the only one who is consistently out of the blue as she is remembering the history. As people move out of the blue, she is mentally experiencing those moments again and losing the opportunity to change those outcomes all over again (as they move back into blue)
in my opinion, the part where she repeats her beginning speech is what brings together the whole song. you know angelica's sacrifice of her own happiness for eliza's. it basically is the part that connects their emotions. angelica is hiding her despair and showing her happiness for eliza. we didn't know what angelica did to make sure eliza was happy in the beginning. but after we've seen angelica's perspective, how she traded emotions just for eliza, it brings deeper meaning.
I was mesmerised with this song the first time I saw this, my first response was to rewind it and watch it again. The whole production and movement of it is stunning. I hope to see it in the theatre in a few years, and I will be alert for so many sections of this song!
I really hoped you would talk more about that amazing rap bit that even Daveed Diggs said he's terrified of... And can we talk of those facial expressions or the AMAZING choreo and staging?
Masterpiece, I agree, this is ‘how to win a Tony in 5 minutes’ she was amazing through the whole show, but this song is so complicated with the ‘reverse’ choreography, her amazing singing, and I looked for it, I could never tell when she took a breath!!!
I honestly feel like the breath support behemoth begins in the soft line just before her belting moment: “But when I fantasize at night, it’s Alexander’s eyes[...]as I romanticize what might’ve been if I hadn’t sized him up so quickly.” She has to take a very quick breath between “eyes” and “as” that needed to be well supported even before that in the previous line in order to get the entire rest of the phrase out and not sound out of breath by the time she says “quickly”. Darn that stretched out “siiiiiiiiized” moment! And then the breathing beast comes out full force as she belts. 😂 I swear, Renee’s like, “Breathing? What’s that?” throughout this entire song lol!
This song reminds me of the song "Not Getting Married" from Stephen Sondheim's musical "Company." There are a couple of composers who are known for always including a song like this (a patter song) in the show. However, usually those songs are not a key factor in the exposition. This does it more than any show I know.
This song is amazing. I loved it when I heard it on the soundtrack, but when I saw the film version I had chills. Such an amazing piece of theater, the flashbacks, the repetitions from past songs, the cleverness of the lyrics, the choreo, the lighting.....all of it is fantastic.
I remember randomly hearing this song on Pandora in 2015 and I was immediately hooked. Had to listen to the entire cast album and know what Hamilton was about. This song has always been in my top 5 still to this day. Renee is just a beast with this song
If you like her vibrato here, review her Out Tonight from Rent. She has a flutter on the word "out" no other Mimi does and it makes her my favorite Mimi over all others
Enjoyed your review. I so agree with you about this number being one of the best, if not the best in history. The outstanding singing and choreography touches my soul. So glad that you explained why this number is remarkable. I especially love the choreography in the "rewind - rewind" part. Those two male dancers dancing and turning on the floor is AMAZING.
You're literally the heart eyes emoji and I'm sure most people are too when watching this number, it's just so good! New subscriber here and I'm loving your videos! Happy Holidays~!
Satisfied is what made me get into Hamilton in the first place. I’d heard all the hype of course, being active online it was impossible to avoid it, but I never really paid it any mind and so never saw any clip/heard any performances from the show. HOWEVER! I work at a piano bar and eventually people started requesting songs from the show. The first one I ever heard was you’ll be back and I was so confused as to what I was listening to without context of the show and it didn’t peak my interest enough to google it. But THEN. Someone requested satisfied and oh my God. Without even knowing a thing about the musical I was hooked. I learnt the name of the song, and then what it was from, and then eventually I came to TH-cam to see and hear it performed by the original person and ended up finding the animatic instead and that cinched it for me. It’s funny though because even after going and adding the song to several of my playlists, I STILL didn’t get into any of the other songs from the show until now, 2+ years after first hearing the song and like 7 years after the musical came out 😂 now I’m your every day Hamilton obsessed musical nerd lolol
I was thinking the other day, I really hope Marc does Satisfied at some point, so I was super happy to see this! Another great video! Renee is just phenomenal, she blows me away every time. I'd love to see you react to some of her older stuff, maybe from her time in Rent?
So excited that you reacted to this! I have been waiting for this for a while because it’s my favorite song in the show and probably one of the best! I agree, Renee killed it! Happy holidays Marc!🌟
Renee is phenomenal - probably the most amazing voice since Audra McDonald. And based both on her performance here and her time as the final actor to play Mimi in Rent, you must admit that she isn't far away from giving Audra a run for her money. When she repeats the first verse, the meaning of every word has changed. Damn she's good. This is the first time I've stumbled across your channel, but i will be back.
Love this reaction, this play, and this performance! This writing is brilliant, the staging is so intricate and Renee is a stellar performer. I have SO MUCH respect and admiration for stage actors!! The amount of work that goes into this work...on and off stage...just wow!
This number is my go to as a director to prove that every little thing you do on stage matters. 99.99% of the live audience will not notice the amazing subtle choice you make on stage but you do it for the 00.01% that will notice. Enough subtle choices and you are then grabbing the audience by their collars and dragging them even subconsciously through the emotional journey you've chosen. Live theatre is such a powerful art form.
I watched Hamilton few times since the movie came out, but this song... O my God, this song hit me like train right from the very first notes. I love it, I love it, I love it!
I know this is meant to be a predominantly musical theatre channel but I can't help feeling like my life would be complete if Marc reacted to some barbershop. I feel like I need that.
Renee Elise Goldsberry has the voice of an angel. So beautiful..I get tears in my eyes when I listen to it. I'm glad they made a movie to capture the visual as well as the sound. The entire package is magnificent!
It makes me so happy watching the joy in his face whenever he reviews something amazing. He is so passionate about musical theater and he just glows in his Hamilton videos.
Marc you are just the **CUTEST** when you watch someone you adore! Your eyes light up and well up at the same time and it's so nice to see! I saw Hamilton for the first time when it came out on film and I was *OBSESSED* ... I didn't think I would be but the soundtrack is nothing short of *IMMENSE* . This song has *SO* much going on.... it's impossible to break it all down in one video... the choreography is incredible... there's so many bits you miss because you're looking at something else. Renee is just absolutely incredible in this song. You really feel her pain and love her for putting her sister's feelings first. Her voice is so adaptable... and her *RAPPING* is so coherent... it can be very easy to get muddled over those words... that whole section has a very particular rhythm and words are intonated in an unusual way, so this must have taken a long time to nail but she kills it!! But what I love is how she doesn't make it known that she is about to start rapping.... like... it just flows out of her like water and takes us all by surprise. She is still and calm but her mouth is going 100mph. Genius. Also choreography wise.. it must be difficult to not only sing this but to nonchalantly engage in previous dances or interactions whilst still telling the story to the audience... Arrgghh... *SO MUCH TO THIS SONG!!!!* Last bit I'll comment on is about the dancers as well.. the part where Hamilton is being introduced to Elisa, that whole section is genius, and on the last "To The GROOOOM!" those two dancers come sliding in from nowhere to do some really well beat matched footwork... I can't believe I didn't notice those before! As always, an utter *JOY* to see you react to this.. you've become my favourite! Patiently waiting for you to react to Room Where It Happens.....
I have cried every. single. time. I've seen this song performed, both live and on video. For many reasons - for the emotion, in sheer awe at the talent of the performance, and for the song itself. Love it. Love. It.
Renee Elise Goldsberry is absolutely amazing! I've been a fan of hers ever since her time on One Life To Live but it was taken to a whole new level the first time I heard her sing this song.
theater costume corsets not what you think....(from the designer) '"The corsets on the female ensemble are boned like a real corset, but... there are stretch panels inserted to allow for maximum movement." -"
There is nothing like the feeling of seeing a show live and physically feeling the music/performance, but I will FOREVER be grateful that this recorded version is out, especially with no promises of theater opening any time soon. I could watch this angel over and over and over... (and I have).
Thank you for featuring the incredible Renée Goldsberry, she bowled me over the first time I heard her golden voice. She's a standout and I look forward to following her success.

I first saw this song and my thought was 'holy shit, this is the most amazing song I have seen performed on a stage'. The storytelling and then the movements of the stage to reflect it, genius. It's my very favorite piece from the show, Burn comes in close but this one was stunning.
Agreed on every point you made!
Omg, we all had the same reaction! thanks for sharing this.
And I always loved how Renee holds her drink. Its just a perfect stance and silhouette. Amazing
What is it about Burn that you like so much? For me that is the only song I actively dislike in Hamilton.
Agreed. Never seen something on stage like this.
@@St3v3z the emotions and heratbreak in it are SO good! That is what makes it so special. The tone and lyrics are just so spot on.
Getting to see Marc's face as he reacts to those gorgeous vocals is the best
I know. I just love watching him.
Such a beautiful performance! "At least I keep his eyes in my life..." Tears! Every time. She is amazing!
That side-eye on "to the REVOLUTION".
Peggy is still not convinced.
Or, she was looking at her boyfriend😏
I have watched Hamilton on Disney plus at least 15 times, not exaggerating, and I honestly have never noticed that! You have a very good eye
I always loved the pain she was able to portray in the line “I’ll leave you to it!” She’s trying so hard to be happy through her vocal intonation but you can see clearly in the face that internally this is not the case. The nuance in that is truly great acting. Love and so thankful that this was filmed every day.
YES!! That' the part that gets me everytime...the pain on her face is just sooo heartbreaking
Interesting fact, this was shot in several parts. Keep an eye on the flowers on angelicas front of the dress. It disappears and reappears. Shows you how tight the choreography was. It’s three different takes but it flows so well visually.
Pretty sure I read that they filmed 3 performances of this (2 with an audience and 1 without) to create the full film
Yeah, the close ups had to be done without an audience so the cameras didn't get in the way of people seeing the show. Its impressive that you don't notice AT ALL. There is no difference in performance to a full house vs an empty one.
I never noticed and now I can't unsee it lol. That's amazing!
I'd love to see him to Karen Olivo sing it, hers is crazy & she opts up on some of those final belts & riffs
nicki minaj type? what does that even mean hahah like in singing style or appearance?
@@ambrosia1917 😂 right. I'm gonna guess singing and rapping ability.
She is so much better than Nicki Minaj, imo
@@PyroGothNerd let’s not compare talented women, let’s appreciate them. :)
Renée is goals, full-stop. Just a stunning, stun-ninng performance. She can call me untalented any day lol.
Totally agree. I’ve seen this three times on stage but seeing it filmed has enhanced my experience so much!
Him: “It isn’t impossible to pick a favorite song... even a top 5”

Drop that list 👀
No drop the lift ma’am
I'm curious, feel free to share that list 😁
The people want to know
Ooooooop y’all I’m not a TH-camr sooo Ill post the list soon I just have to find the motivation to type the list out tho😂
Please please please add a review for Christopher Jackson performing ‘One Last Time’ at the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors!
Vouch
She’s gorgeous, great actress, excellent singer but what blows me away the most is that I can understand EVERY single word she is saying!
This song!! Alex Lacaimore said when she auditioned and performed "Satisfied" it was the first time they heard the song being rapped through. Before, they only had Lin's demo. She breathed life into the song.
this was the part of the musical where I was like.... okay I think I get what the hype is about
I love how she goes absolutely still at the beginning.
2000% istg its mesmerizing
When I hear her singing "To your union!" I get so filled with emotions, that tears come to my eyes. So beautiful!
When I saw this the first time I was like that was the best piece of theater I've seen in my life
the way she says “where’s your family from?” here has this sweetness to it that i love
This song is so beautiful and heartbreaking. Makes me tear up every time.
This song is so special - it reflects how sometimes the most heartbreaking decisions in our lives are the ones we make to ensure another person's happiness "sigh"
And her voice?! You can hear every single emotion and feel with and for her... 😔
How she sings appareantly without breathing is a mystery though 😲
she looks so cool when she says "to your union" at the end Omg
amazing
I love the 'You forget yourself" line. It's a quaint usage. To those unfamiliar, Eliza is calling attention to both her social stature, and Alexander's forwardness. It would be something that only someone with social cachet could use. She's basically telling him, "You've stepped out of line, remember your place. You're being too familiar, you're presuming too much." But he persists.
Where’s your family from? So intimate and desirous. It breaks me a little, because I know his answer sets him beyond her reach.
@@cynaracherrycaryccc I had no idea. Where have I been? Thank you for the info.
Yes. She was so great on OLTL. That is when I first got hooked. Even back then, she was so sweet to her fans. She's beautiful inside and out-a true light.
@@nw6866 always joke OLTL got cancelled for doing her dirty in contract talks 2007. Karma.
@@cynaracherrycaryccc Also, Rent.
We need to see Marc Daniel Patrick critique Marc Daniel Patrick.
"Damn you Lin Miranda" I love it! I am not a vocalist but I grew up LOVING musicals. I love your insight, passion, knowledge and reviews of these.
„If you manage to remember this“ - me having listened to this song on repeat for months and knowing every line but still struggling with breath work 👀
in my opinion, the part where she repeats her beginning speech is what brings together the whole song. you know angelica's sacrifice of her own happiness for eliza's. it basically is the part that connects their emotions. angelica is hiding her despair and showing her happiness for eliza. we didn't know what angelica did to make sure eliza was happy in the beginning. but after we've seen angelica's perspective, how she traded emotions just for eliza, it brings deeper meaning.
That actress absolutely killed it. So much emotion and talent. Phew
This song reminds me of the song "Not Getting Married" from Stephen Sondheim's musical "Company."
There are a couple of composers who are known for always including a song like this (a patter song) in the show.
I ADORE HER! She will always be the ONE person for this role! She just destroys in this performance - especially the ending! I ADORE HER!
It took me about half the show to realize that I knew her from Altered Carbon. She’s all around fantastic.
Satisfied is my favorite...I will literally go and watch this in the movie over and over again.
The best part is watching Marc's face as he feels the vocals!
"May you always be satisfied"
With this performance.....YES!
TEARS! Every single time. So gorgeous. She is a QUEEN!
"This song would be a bitch to memorize"
Me: ...Lol ok...I only had to listen to it on repeat in my car for eight hours until I had it down.
One of your best. I don’t know the show. But I was unable to remain in a lying position while watching that beautiful lady! She is perfection.
That "Oh yes. Come on, theatre!" is me through pretty much all of Hamilton every time I watch it 😂
I think we have a new T-shirt slogan coming. 😍
Me Too
What about "Now you want me to belt? Damn you, Lin Miranda!"? LOL
11:28 yeah Damn you LiN-mIrAnDa
I was thinking the other day, I really hope Marc does Satisfied at some point, so I was super happy to see this! Another great video! Renee is just phenomenal, she blows me away every time. I'd love to see you react to some of her older stuff, maybe from her time in Rent?
So excited that you reacted to this! I have been waiting for this for a while because it’s my favorite song in the show and probably one of the best!
I agree, Renee killed it! Happy holidays Marc!🌟
Renee and Audra Mcdonald are both just amazing! Renee must breathe through her ears!
This is the first time I've stumbled across your channel, but
i will be back.
He said "Com'on theater!"
Gives me chills every single ******** time 💯👏🏾
I watched Hamilton few times since the movie came out, but this song... O my God, this song hit me like train right from the very first notes. I love it, I love it, I love it!
This is without a doubt my favorite song in the show! I've sung this so many times in the past 5 years. A truly breathtaking, historic performance!
Yes!
Helpless/Satisfied are my favorite back-to-back songs in all of Hamilton. And Helpless would be on my shortlist of 5 favorite songs from Hamilton.
Can we just focus on the fact that she's managing to control her breath and lung capacity like this WHILE WEARING A BLOODY CORSET thank you
theater costume corsets not what you think....(from the designer) '"The corsets on the female ensemble are boned like a real corset, but... there are stretch panels inserted to allow for maximum movement." -"
Also if the corset is properly made to your body’s measurements, singing like this should not be a problem.
There is nothing like the feeling of seeing a show live and physically feeling the music/performance, but I will FOREVER be grateful that this recorded version is out, especially with no promises of theater opening any time soon. I could watch this angel over and over and over... (and I have).
Get someone who looks at you the way Marc looks at Renee 🥰
Several moments in this performance are just so perfect they bring a tear to your eye and leave you in awe.
Thank you for featuring the incredible Renée Goldsberry, she bowled me over the first time I heard her golden voice. She's a standout and I look forward to following her success.
I really liked hearing more about the different technical aspects and techniques that can be used for performances.
Thanks for the video!
